. There are so many firsts in this Prosecution. The NFL has already filed in Federal court. They asked the FED Court to affirm their decision. It's a First. They didn't cut any time - while Greg Hardy just had his suspension, that included violence, cut by 60%. Demanding he turn over his phone - another first. They just had an issue with a player when a video turned up of someone that looked like him fighting - they did not demand his phone nor phone records to determine if he was there or if evidence on his phone would show him wearing those clothes. ESPN, using an anonymouse source, printed false information on this story, and I think is leery of the NFL Office in NY leaking his personal info, if they had it. The Refs tested the Patriots Footballs. Then they started testing the Colts and 3 out of 4 were also out of range - and they stopped testing immediately. Yes, they found the Colt's balls to be out of allowed range - and stopped testing them. We were told about six weeks ago that the Black Players in the NFL would not stand for Brady's sentence being lessened, raising the question just what is Brady being punished for. In the last 10 days, the same ESPN people that leaked/reported the phone story reported that a GROUP of Influential Owners let Goddell know it would not be acceptable to lessen Brady's punishment. Group of Influential Owners? Isn't that collusion? Goodell is handling Brady different than everyone else, and the number one driver there is the fact that Goodell will enjoy the Liberal Sports Writers and General Media support and admiration to going after Brady. To me, it's simple Show me someone else the NFL treated like this. They ran out and were the PR team for Ray Rice. Ray Rice, they said, he had never been in trouble before (certainly applies to Tom Brady for a much longer period), and he was a role model in the Community. Isn't Tom Brady a role model in the community? They had to leave out that Ray Rice spit in a Cleveland player's face during a game to arrive at their position to defend him. . Tom Brady Had His Assistant Destroy His Cellphone After Deflategate The Patriots quarterback had sent and received more than 10,000 text messages on the phone Tom Brady told his assistant to destroy a cellphone he had used during the Deflategate scandal around the time investigators interviewed him about his involvement, the NFL found. The details emerged in an NFL decision released Tuesday, in which NFL commissioner Roger Goodell upheld Brady’s four-game suspension for his role in the Patriots’ use of underinflated footballs during the AFC championship game against the Indianapolis Colts in January. The report revealed that “on or before March 6 — the very day that he was interviewed by [independent investigator Ted Wells] and his investigative team — Mr. Brady instructed his assistant to destroy the cellphone that he had been using since early November 2014.” Brady had refused to turn the phone and his emails over during the Deflategate probe, investigators said. The NFL report found Brady had sent and received more than 10,000 text messages on the phone from November 2014 to March 2015. Brady said at a recent hearing that he always destroys, or tells his assistant to destroy, his old phones when he gets a new one, according to the report...snipped http://time.com/3975627/tom-brady-cellphone-deflategate/ |

. I hadn't heard this comment from Brady's agent, but it's obvious: "The Commissioner’s decision and discipline has no precedent in all of NFL history." . Edited by Mason, Jul 28 2015, 04:31 PM.

. THE NFL OR ESPN got this Story going (sound familiar) using a False Story. Now, did the NFL feed ESPN the False story, which, in turn, created a great outcry for NFL Action (and a $5 Million Report)? Point: "This story contradicts an earlier report. This one’s particularly interesting because in this case, the new ESPN report contradicts the initial report by ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. You’ll remember that in the late night of Jan. 20, Mortensen reported that 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were measured at 2 PSI under the low threshold allowed by league (12.5 PSI). This was the story that turned Bob Kravitz’s report into a full-on national crisis, with national news programs leading with stories about deflated footballs. Now, nearly a month later, ESPN is reporting that “Kensil personally checked the PSI (pounds per square inch) levels of all 12 footballs the Patriots had for use on offense and found that 11 of those 12 were underinflated by ‘one to two pounds.'” The difference may seem minor, but it is not. If you can take anything from the weeks of scientific theories and physics theses we were all bombarded with, it’s that at the very least you have to afford for the possibility for a change in air pressure based on a number of different factors. And while it may be a stretch to say that air temperature and moisture and whatever else could lower the pressure by a full two PSI, it is believable that it could drop the pressure by half of that. So now, we’ve got ESPN reporting the balls were two PSI under, we’ve got ESPN reporting the balls were between one and two PSI under, and we’ve still got NFL Network saying one football was two PSI under the limit while “many of them were just a few ticks under the minimum.” Which is it? That’s lots of sources saying some pretty different things, but what’s notable in this instance is that ESPN is saying Chris Mortensen was wrong. Considering it was Mortensen’s report which really kicked DeflateGate hysteria into overdrive, that’s no insignificant detail." 3 out of 4 of the Colts were out of range - and they immediately stopped testing them. Leaving at least 8 untested altogether. They cited a lack of time to test. |

. BASIC QUESTION. Brady just won the Super Bowl. He's never been in trouble. He's articulate for a Player. So why would the NFL go after him so vehemently? They rush and spend $5 Million dollars out of the gate - and the report really has to torture the evidence to come to the conclusion it does. For instance, the Ref doing the Measuring said he used this gauge for this and the other type of gauge for that. He was sure. In the $5 Million report, they say the REF must've gotten it wrong and actually was using the other gauge! So, they overrule the testimony of one of their employees (and Authority figures in this case) to get Brady. Seriously, think about that - with no other evidence, in fact contrary to the evidence, they flipped the Ref's official statement and says he must have been wrong in order to make the determination they did. When you are moving evidence around and flipping it with no evidence or facts to cause that flip to have it align with your conclusion, you have nothing. This was worse than junk science. It's just junk. And this issue is so important that the Refs couldn't take a couple minutes to measure the Colt's footballs, which did not look good after they started that process. . . When Brady's lawyer asked for interviews and the raw reports behind the $5 Million report, the NFL claimed Privilege, and would not allow it. |

. This is all I needed to read in the $5 Million dollar report. These are assumptions and guesses. "In addition, Exponent determined that when the Logo and Non-Logo Gauges measure an identical pressure, different readings are produced. According to Exponent, the Logo Gauge produced readings that were generally in the range of 0.3-0.4 psi higher than the Non- Logo Gauge. However, for a given set of measurements, the differential between the gauges generally remained consistent when compared to a calibrated gauge. In other words, in the short term, both the Logo Gauge and Non-Logo Gauge read consistently, though differently from each other. Exponent‟s experimental results were aligned with the measurements recorded at halftime, which indicated a consistent gauge-to-gauge differential of 0.3-0.45 psi. Exponent relied upon this information, as well as the fact that during the testing the Non-Logo Gauge never produced a reading higher than the Logo Gauge, to conclude that Walt Anderson most likely used the Non-Logo Gauge to inspect the game balls prior to the game, that Clete Blakeman most likely used the Non-Logo Gauge and Dyrol Prioleau most likely used the LogoGauge to test the Patriots game balls at halftime, and that the game officials most likely switched gauges before measuring the Colts balls at halftime (with the one anomaly described above)." This is right from the NFL's own report. Do you think the media (and NFL) would smear Cam Newton over guess after guess after assumption? . Edited by Mason, Jul 28 2015, 05:27 PM.

My personal opinion. Clearly I know nothing of the real facts. So here what I think is the reality. Brady probably did like his football slightly underinflated and the staff carried out that request. He & the staff went about trying to cover it up when accused. The NFL & their referees did make crucial mistakes. There should be a standardized pressure test & they should control the footballs at all time. As it sits currently the balls go to the team and they get to break them in. The football should come directly to the game and passed out with someone from the NFL in charge. I am sure there is a back story between the NFL & the Pats. |

It is now known that after the accusations Brady destroyed his cell phone and text messages. He also took the sim card out of the phone and destroyed that. Events that convinced goodell that the 4 game suspension should hold. Not sure Brady wants to commit perjury by going to s higher court?

Brady is a conservative - could that have something to do with the venom? Do not get me wrong - I do not condone cheating in any form. if guilty ( and I think that the evidence is pretty conclusive) he and the Patriots should be punished. |

. Look up how much Goodell makes a year. Meaning, the league is swimming in $$$$. One gauge had a very bent needle and the Refs obviously didn't treat the function as very important. The score was something like 38-7 AFTER the Refs substituted different balls. That makes it hard to argue any benefit to what the NFL claims. |

The idiots on Fox said this is what HILLARY and the IRS did. No, this was a private phone not provided or paid for by anyone. He could not be compelled to produce it by the NFL. And, the unprecedented treatment and previous leaks was a good indication his texts would be leaked. If he texted his wife and called a coach or another player an idiot, it would be an ESPN special report. |

Yup - and that is the reason why the harshness. It would not surprise me if balls are under or for that matter over inflated as a matter of course throughout the NFL. I have no love of the Patriots or Tom Brady (though I do think he is a phenomenal athlete) but I do think that he is being singled out. |
