There was NO support for the falsely-accused lax players from Duke in that NO ONE attended their hearings except fellow lax players and IIRC Coach Pressler (?). No deans, no faculty advisers, no chaplains (a very bored-looking imho David Graham did attend Nifong's hearing) No Brodhead no trustees NO ONE. OTOH, if the case had gone to trial, would the Gang of 88, the Women's Center, or the various angry studies organizations and departments have issued flyers like THIS: |

Note that while there has yet to be a trial, the flyer refers more than once to the "victim". The jury will visit the "victim's" room, even though the jury hasn't decided whether there has been a victim yet. Would organizations from Duke and NCCU and Durham have filled the courtroom for a lax trial? (Certainly imho, nobody from Duke would have been there to demonstrate sympathy/compassion/support for the falsely accused--even if by the time of a trial it had become blatantly obvious that the charges were false.)
