Thanks LTC! Believe it or not, that made my day. Bloomberg is a simple-minded idiot. http://money.cnn.com/2013/03/11/news/companies/soda-ban/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 Edited by MikeZPU, Mar 11 2013, 04:04 PM.

To hell with these azzhats who think they have the right to dictate our freedom to chose. I certainly don't believe you should be drinking lots of soda pop but it isn't for his royal majesty to decide. |

. Funny Thread! Think I'll celebrate with a 1.5 liter. How come when it comes to this subject, suddenly no one is worried about stigmatizing people? Edited by Mason, Mar 11 2013, 08:54 PM.

Bloomberg is worth 25 Billion. He can buy a lot of Big Gulps and have a personal 7-11 in his mansions. ...Michael R. Bloomberg, the billionaire mayor of New York, is certainly no everyman, jetting around the world in his own private plane and giving away hundreds of millions in charity. And when it comes to real estate, his tastes run to the positively baronial, especially with two of his properties — a town house on East 79th Street and one in Cadogan Square in London — and, perhaps soon, a $20 million Georgian mansion in Southampton, a 35-acre estate known as Ballyshear. Throughout his tenure, the mayor has taken pains to protect his private life, refusing to divulge his weekend whereabouts, blocking aviation Web sites from tracking the movements of his private planes and swearing reporters to secrecy before granting access to his homes. Yet examples of the grandeur in which he lives had, until Monday, been in plain sight on the Web site of his longtime decorator, Jamie Drake, who is known for exuberance and has overseen rooms for Madonna as well as restorations at Gracie Mansion and City Hall...snipped http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/20/nyregion/a-glimpse-at-bloombergs-lavish-tastes-at-home.html?_r=3&hp& Surrounded by burly armed guards trying to keep you from having your 2nd Amendment right & a Big Coke! What an arrogant *****! Edited by Baldo, Mar 11 2013, 10:51 PM.

...Manhattan state Supreme Court Justice Milton Tingling wrote in his opinion that the rules are "arbitrary and capricious," applying to only certain beverages and only certain stores. Nothing about imposing on our rights. If he tweaksit some, they'll let it happen. We're headed towards Big Brother telling us when, where, what and how much we can eat! ADD: Maybe how much we MUST consume. Edited by kbp, Mar 11 2013, 11:23 PM.

Bloomberg has hard time swallowing judge’s decision to nix large soda ban The ban on sugary drinks over 16 ounces at city-regulated eateries was supposed to take effect Tuesday. Bloomberg: ‘It wasn’t a setback for me. It’s a setback for the people who are dying.’ A defiant Mayor Bloomberg toasted an East Side restaurant that complied with his ban on large sodas despite a judge’s decision to dump it. “It wasn't a setback for me. It's was a setback for the people who are dying," Bloomberg told dozens of reporters Tuesday at a Lucky’s Cafe on First Ave. at E. 34th St. “We just think that the judge was totally wrong.”...snipped http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/bloomberg-defiant-large-soda-ban-article-1.1286171?localLinksEnabled=false#commentpostform |

A lot of restaurants had already ordered thousands of smaller glasses and cups, so what else can they do? Lots of places are complying by default because they had to make a decision, and they are stuck with that decision for a while now. |
