BOB WOODWARD: A 'Very Senior' White House Person Warned Me I'd 'Regret' What I'm Doing Bob Woodward said this evening on CNN that a "very senior person" at the White House warned him in an email that he would "regret doing this," the same day he has continued to slam President Barack Obama over the looming forced cuts known as the sequester. CNN host Wolf Blitzer said that the network invited a White House official to debate Woodward on-air, but the White House declined. "I think they're confused," Woodward said of the White House's pushback on his reporting. Earlier today on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Woodward ripped into Obama in what has become an ongoing feud between the veteran Washington Post journalist and the White House. Woodward said Obama was showing a "kind of madness I haven't seen in a long time" for a decision not to deploy an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf because of budget concerns....snipped http://www.businessinsider.com/bob-woodward-obama-sequester-white-house-reporting-price-politics-2013-2 So what did Woodward do? He said Obama is fibbing about the Sequester Impasse and Woodward: Obama's Decision Not To Deploy Carrier "A Kind Of Madness" Bob Woodward blasted President Obama on Wednesday morning for deciding to recall an aircraft carrier from the Persian Gulf because of impending budget cuts, calling the decision "a kind of madness." Woodward: Can you imagine Ronald Reagan sitting there and saying ‘Oh, by the way, I can’t do this because of some budget document?’ Or George W. Bush saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to invade Iraq because I can’t get the aircraft carriers I need’ or even Bill Clinton saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to attack Saddam Hussein’s intelligence headquarters,’ as he did when Clinton was president because of some budget document? Under the Constitution, the president is commander-in-chief and employs the force. And so we now have the president going out because of this piece of paper and this agreement, I can’t do what I need to do to protect the country. That’s a kind of madness that I haven’t seen in a long time. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2013/02/27/woodward_obamas_decision_not_to_deploy_carrier_a_kind_of_madness.html "...That’s a kind of madness that I haven’t seen in a long time..." Maybe since the days of Watergate? Edited by Baldo, Feb 27 2013, 07:45 PM.

I know that I should not get my hopes up, but do you think that Obama may actually lose the PR battle this time? I know it's wishful thinking BUT his scare tactics were so over the top this time that maybe, just maybe, people are scratching their heads? |

Just on big difference between Watergate and Obama, Nixon never threatened the media or a person in the media when he was under attack. This is more of a reminder of the old Soviet Union, Obama learned well from Alinsky, Karl Marx and his father Frank Marshall Davis. Just to add the real senior WH official IMHO is Valarie Jarrett, she is closer to Barack then Michelle. |

Video of Woodward: White House Warned Me "You Will Regret Doing This" WOLF BLITZER, CNN: You're used to this kind of stuff, but share with our viewers what's going on between you and the White House. BOB WOODWARD: Well, they're not happy at all and some people kind of, you know, said, look, 'we don't see eye to eye on this.' They never really said, though, afterwards, they've said that this is factually wrong, and they -- and it was said to me in an e-mail by a top -- BLITZER: What was said? WOODWARD: It was said very clearly, you will regret doing this. BLITZER: Who sent that e-mail to you? WOODWARD: Well, I'm not going to say. BLITZER: Was it a senior person at the White House? WOODWARD: A very senior person. And just as a matter -- I mean, it makes me very uncomfortable to have the White House telling reporters, 'you're going to regret doing something that you believe in, and even though we don't look at it that way, you do look at it that way.' I think if Barack Obama knew that was part of the communication's strategy, let's hope it's not a strategy, that it's a tactic that somebody's employed, and said, 'Look, we don't go around trying to say to reporters, if you, in an honest way, present something we don't like, that, you know, you're going to regret this.' It's Mickey Mouse. (The Situation Room, February 27, 2013) http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2013/02/27/woodward_white_house_warned_me_youre_going_to_regret_this.html |

Will Woodward suffer the same fate of Andrew Brietbart? A sudden heart attack, I think the same fate is comming for Bob Woodward, we are a lot closer to becoming the USSA. They want to register all guns, which will lead to confiscation, they are releasing hundreds of illegal alien set for deportation and set to release even more up to 30,000. This congress has to take some action or the US as we know it will not exist past 2016. |

. Notice the spin though, If Barack knew about this.... Right, he'd be shocked and appalled. Since when do we assume Senior members of his circle write the orders and not the guy in charge? The Press absolutely knew that Scooter Libby was only doing as he was told and the investigation had to focus on his superiors. And they knew who leaked that info the whole time (and it wasn't Libby or his superiors). . |

Woodward at war Bob Woodward called a senior White House official last week to tell him that in a piece in that weekend’s Washington Post, he was going to question President Barack Obama’s account of how sequestration came about - and got a major-league brushback. The Obama aide “yelled at me for about a half hour,” Woodward told us in an hour-long interview yesterday around the Georgetown dining room table where so many generations of Washington’s powerful have spilled their secrets. Digging into one of his famous folders, Woodward said the tirade was followed by a page-long email from the aide, one of the four or five administration officials most closely involved in the fiscal negotiations with the Hill. “I apologize for raising my voice in our conversation today,” the official typed. “You’re focusing on a few specific trees that give a very wrong impression of the forest. But perhaps we will just not see eye to eye here. … I think you will regret staking out that claim.” http://www.politico.com/story/2013/02/woodward-at-war-88212.html?hp=t1_3 See Video at site |

It was a mistake to threaten Bob Woodward. It sounds like things are crumbling a bit at the White House, just a bit. It is becoming more difficult for Obama to dispute the fact that the sequestration was his idea. And his Armageddon claims are making him look a bit silly, quite frankly. No doubt that the AP will have a weekend workshop to brainstorm on how to make Obama smell like a rose again. But, for the moment at least, he's not looking too good. |

I wish Woodward would bring up taxpayer funded $9K dresses, multi-million dollar Obama vacations and spring breaks and other frivolous spending while Obama scares the American public with releasing criminals and grounding aircraft carriers. I'm glad that Woodward is speaking out and I hope he keeps doing so. |

. Really, though, it was crazy to think he could hatch this, disseminate it, twist arms in Congress to agree to it, say flatly in National Debates that he had nothing to do with it and that it would never happen. Then launch a great campaign against his plan. This kinda clears it up - Obama says on VIDEO that any attempt to undo any of these cuts would be stomped by him - and he would VETO.
