Presidential Debate - 10/16/12

Things I would like to see mentioned or discussed in a debate - or just asked:

Why does everyone need to go to college? You don't need a college education to be a plumber, electrician, garbage collector (my personal heroes as I wouldn't want to do that job), etc. These are all very necessary jobs/occupations/careers. Emphasis on college is overdone, in my opinion.

Someone should point out to President Obama that it is ok to have people advising you that you don't always agree with. The President said that Mr. Romney has the person who set up the AZ immigration policy as if that meant that Romney agreed with it 100%. Romney said he had agreed with one portion of it. Seems to me that when someone is making decisions that will affect a wide range of people, it would be a good idea to hear ideas from all sides.

IIRC, Obama didn't even answer the original question.

Plus, the questioner said that after the debate, he and Obama talked about why there was a delay in calling it a terrorist attack.

Crowley's network and the MSM is standing behind her - they needed her to insert herself for Obama.

This is another case of the outrages being limited to right and libertarian blogs.

She continually interrputed Romney, looked like a trained lapdog for Obama - didn't watch the fairness of the time and she repeatedly professed - and no one is asking how Obama knew Kerry, knew the question was coming from him, and even knew where he was seated.

Absolutely!

The belief that a college education is necessary for one to be successful in life is bogus. I do believe that a good high school education is a necessity. This should include (for all) some technical courses - shop, home ec, etc.

The most valued telephone numbers in my personal phone book (beisdes immediate family) are those belonging to the plumber, the lectrician, and the handy man who does odd jobs for me. I am not a "handy person" - I am appreciative of the talents that others have in those areas. They make a good living - and deserve every penny and more that they make.....as does the garbage man.

Of course, I am one of what seems to be an increasing minority who believes that the prupose of a college education is to teach one how to think and to expose one to greater learning in many areas of the arts and sciences. It is NOT to train one for any specific job. That is why trade and graduate schools exist.

She makes Barry and herself look more foolish each time she opens her mouth. For most it would be a career damaging embarrAZZment, but for liberal media members it is more like a badge of honor ...getting all the attention.

Unfortunately she did not also retract the conversation she had with axlerod saying that the administration did not call it terrorism for a long time.

Presidential debate: Libya questioner says Obama didn’t answer

...President Obama, though, wasn’t done with Kerry Ladka. “After the debate, the president came over to me and spent about two minutes with me privately,” says the 61-year-old Ladka, who works at Global Telecom Supply in Mineola, N.Y. According to Ladka, Obama gave him ”more information about why he delayed calling the attack a terorist attack.” For background, Obama did apparently lump Benghazi into a reference to “acts of terror” in a Sept. 12 Rose Garden address. However, he spent about two weeks holding off on using the full “terrorist” designation. The rationale for the delay, Obama explained to Ladka, was to make sure that the “intelligence he was acting on was real intelligence and not disinformation,” recalls Ladka.

As to Ladka’s question about who turned down the Benghazi security requests and why, Obama reportedly told him that “releasing the individual names of anyone in the State Department would really put them at risk,” Ladka says.

Obama’s retail politics left an impression on Ladka:”I appreciate his private answer more than his public answer,” he says. Spoken like a very genuine undecided voter, Ladka says he wasn’t impressed with Romney’s response to the Libya matter, either.

“I like Obama very much but I am very impressed with Romney’s business background,” says Ladka, who’s not saying in which direction he's leaning. Didn’t someone out there say these debates make no difference?

That reads like an attempt to plant & grow a media leak.

Drudge...

http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/inside-politics/2012/oct/17/reporters-applaud-obamas-slam-romneys-wealth/

..."Mr. President, have you looked at your pension?" Mr. Romney said.

"You know, I don't look at my pension. It's not as big as yours, so it — it doesn't take as long," Mr. Obama retorted. His reply prompted laughter in the debate hall where the two men were squaring off — but across the way in the separate room where the press was stationed, a brief round of applause broke out.

Why is it such a joy for them to witness someone condemn another for success?

It doesn't even make any sense.

He doesn't look at it, but it doesn't take as long?

What?

If he doesn't look, then how does he know anything about it one way or the other?

Crowley went on the View this morning and said she had a transcript of the Rose Garden speech at the debate. The whole thing seems like a setup to me.

I imagine Obama's working on a quick drone strike to be carried out before Nov. 6.

No mention of WHY she had it?
