http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/newsdesk/2012/10/barack-obama-and-malcolm-x.html As depressed as this article made me...I think it is an important read. It may leave you hopeless. It may leave you feeling nothing will ever be enough. It may leave you angry...as when the failure of certain Black mayors is brushed aside as if they were handed messes no one could make right..and the attending corruption in some of their administrations (think ole Hip Hop in Detroit) not even addressed. Anyway, it made me feel all of the above. But it certainly offers valuable insight. |

. There is another article out saying how bad the economy has been for Black families, that would be the Obama Economy. Isn't it the Ultimate Racism to persist in supporting Barack X in the 90 something percentile even after you and yours have suffered? We always hear about this invisible racism and racism-driven forces allied against Barack Obama, however, what we see written and people stand behind is obvious racsim (Samuel L. Jackson, Snoop Dog) and it's never mentioned - Never. It's actually much worse than what is stated here. . |

. How can 14% be 47% ? That is some kind of herculean stretch and then some to make it a racial issue. Got to make it racist - even when the facts don't support it. . |

. The article indicates the 47% comment equates to racism. This is precisely the way they kept the Bush Admin and Congress from doing anything about Fannie/Freddie and the Mortgage issues. So to address the debt and deficit is Racist. . |

Of course its racist. Look what is happening to that black actress and the twitter world criticizing her for supporting Romney. My worry is that the 90% of the blacks will not be coming back if obama loses. Separate but equal? Nope. Separate and kill whitey. Hope not but staying aware of the possibilities. |

"The wrong person at the wrong time" He has just done a crappy job. BTW how would I handle the 47% issue? First I would get agreement it is true that 47% don't pay Federal Income Tax. It is. Then I would say it is a tragedy that 47% don't make enough money to pay taxes. That's the problem. Unemployment, Underemployment, and low wages, not that they don't pay Income tax. People are hurting under Obama. |

Well... I suspect Mr. Cobb will pass from this world unhappy, and there is nothing any of us can do to prevent that. |

...Good race relations meant that hundreds of thousands of diverse Americans could huddle together against the arctic cold on the National Mall to celebrate the inauguration of Barack Obama. Racism, however, meant that those black celebrants would disproportionately face police brutality, foreclosure, health disparities, and unemployment after the festivities were over. The solutions such baiters cry for has left mommy alone with the children. Some times you get what you ask for, only it's not what you thought it was when you asked. As for Barry, there is no solution that would have satisfied this man. |

. There was one thing we said right off the bat, that if BHO was elected, there would be all kinds of excuses to relieve him of responsibility. The election was very possible, but to assess him as a failure is impossible by the same media, hollywood, and academia. They simply aren't capable of it. . |

This author would have felt right at home in Druham, NC with the pot bangers. He goes on to complain about white flight from the cities that are run by black mayors. IMHO, it is not black mayors, it is democrats in general that run these cities and has nothing to do with race, as this author would lead you to believe. Jelani Cobb is in the same mold of Marc Lamont Hill who came out with his 15 most over rated white people, that everyone is a racist. Someone needs to call these racist professors out. |

I think a lot of white flight from cities was caused or enhanced by the riots in the cities. Urban renewal destroyed ethnic Catholic neighborhoods in cities. Race is not as important as religion. Traditional religion started to be destroyed and had a negative effect, IMO. Edited by foxglove, Oct 9 2012, 07:46 PM.
