One more thing Mr. DSL and I discussed about the debate this AM: BHO did not/could not look at Romney last night. How could he? Romney embodies everything that our Socialist President hates... he is a successful white male. As Ann Romney shared in their family story, Gov. Romney started his business on the kitchen table of their home. Through hard work and dedication, he becamee a success. And yes, he DID build "that".

That American work ethic that fueled Romney has always been the fuel that has fired our free enterprise system. But that very ethic goes against everything that Obama believes and stands for. That very work ethic is about freedom FROM over-regulation and government intervention. It is the individual vs. the government. Obama has never achieved a single thing worthwhile on his own in his life. We don't even have much evidence that he has ever had a REAL job, outside some tax-supported project. So why would he believe in individual effort? He is owned by the unions.

So when Obama kept his eyes down, tried to push Lehrer into moving ahead off of topics where he was incompetent or exposed, and smirked at Romney's astounding mastery of the facts, Obama was doing his best to keep his cool rather than reveal his total disrespect for the man standing in front of him.

He is a wounded animal after last night's debate. And you don't ever want to do battle with a wounded animal unless you are fully prepared for the desperate effort it will launch against you to save its own life. I pray that Romney will be prepared.

AARP’s Statement on the Denver Presidential Debate

Politics
Print Below is the statement AARP released on this evening’s Presidential debate:

Denver, CO—Earlier this evening the Presidential candidates discussed AARP, Social Security and Medicare during the first Presidential debate of the 2012 general election. AARP, a sponsor of activities at all four of the 2012 Presidential and Vice Presidential debates, released the following statement in response. AARP Senior Vice President John Hishta said:

“We’re grateful that this evening the candidates engaged in a more robust conversation with regard to Medicare. We’re also pleased Social Security was included in tonight’s debate. But America’s voters deserve more than talking points and 30-second sound bites. Our members and older Americans want to hear how the candidates would strengthen Social Security, Medicare, and financial security, and we encourage the candidates to offer more specifics about their plans before Election Day.

“Across party lines, older voters say that getting more information on the candidates’ plans on these crucial economic security programs will help them determine their vote. We know that our members vote, and they want the candidates to tell them how they’ll fix Medicare and Social Security for them, their kids and their grandkids.

“Earlier this year, we launched You’ve Earned a Say, a national conversation on the future of Social Security and Medicare, to engage people in communities across the country so they have the pros and cons of proposals currently on the table in Washington and on the campaign trail.

“While we respect the rights of each campaign to make its case to voters, AARP has never consented to the use of its name by any candidate or political campaign. AARP is a nonpartisan organization and we do not endorse political candidates nor coordinate with any candidate or political party.

“We remain focused on providing voters with balanced information on where candidates stand on the key issues, so they can make their own decisions on Election Day. For more information on where the candidates stand on premium support and other Medicare topics discussed tonight, see AARP’s Voters’ Guides at www.earnedasay.org.”

I think everyone knew (including Romney) where the debate was at when obama snipped at the moderator that he had 5 seconds left if he was not interrupted.
It may be Romney has more political ad material about obama from this debate than obama has Romney material.

In all honesty, I was stunned that Romney debated the way he did and as aggressive as he did.

There was also some organization measuring electronically the truth of each candidates statements from their voice while speaking. If anyone sees that maybe they can post it.

I looked over the transcript as soon as it was out. The word count, at times, made it appear Romney had more time BUT ....Barry was very slow in his delivery.

$5 trillion
Quote:

OBAMA: So all of this is possible. Now, in order for us to do it, we do have to close our deficit, and one of the things I'm sure we'll be discussing tonight is, how do we deal with our tax code? And how do we make sure that we are reducing spending in a responsible way, but also, how do we have enough revenue to make those investments?

And this is where there's a difference, because Governor Romney's central economic plan calls for a $5 trillion tax cut -- on top of the extension of the Bush tax cuts -- that's another trillion dollars -- and $2 trillion in additional military spending that the military hasn't asked for. That's $8 trillion. How we pay for that, reduce the deficit, and make the investments that we need to make, without dumping those costs onto middle-class Americans, I think is one of the central questions of this campaign.

[...]

ROMNEY: Well, sure. I'd like to clear up the record and go through it piece by piece.

First of all, I don't have a $5 trillion tax cut. I don't have a tax cut of a scale that you're talking about. My view is that we ought to provide tax relief to people in the middle class. But I'm not going to reduce the share of taxes paid by high-income people. High-income people are doing just fine in this economy. They'll do fine whether you're president or I am.

The people who are having the hard time right now are middle- income Americans. Under the president's policies, middle-income Americans have been buried. They're just being crushed. Middle- income Americans have seen their income come down by $4,300. This is a -- this is a tax in and of itself. I'll call it the economy tax. It's been crushing.

Barry went with this FOUR times throughout the debate, left wanting details to prove his claim each time.

KitchenAid apologies for dead grandma Obama debate Tweet
By Martha C. White, NBC News contributor

KitchenAid is famous for its mixers, but the brand learned the hard way about the perils of mixing personal political views with official company messaging on social media.

On Thursday morning, parent company Whirlpool was in damage-control mode after an offensive message was sent from the company’s official Twitter account during last night’s presidential debate.

“Obamas gma even knew it was going 2 b bad! 'She died 3 days b4 he became president',” the Tweet read, a response to a reference President Barack Obama made about his grandmother’s passing. It was quickly deleted, but not before a flurry of screenshots and retweets thwarted the attempt at erasure....

The handlers have decided 'Romney told so many lies' is the reason Obama failed. Even Lanny Davis is calling Obama's campaign on that particular spin.

Obama's Stephanie Cutter knocks Lehrer

DENVER, Colo. -- Obama spokesperson Stephanie Cutter took a swipe at moderator Jim Lehrer's largely passive debate performance tonight, saying the PBS anchor had allowed Mitt Romney to act as the moderator.

"I sometimes wondered if we even needed a moderator because we had Mitt Romney," Cutter told CNN shortly after the debate, though she told POLITICO that Lehrer did his job as moderator and that her comments were strictly about Romney.

(See also: Complete coverage of the Colorado presidential debate)

Cutter's decision to knock Lehrer may signal an acknowledgment by the Obama campaign that the president did not perform as well as his challenger, Mitt Romney -- which was the general consensus of the media, including the usually pro-Obama MSNBC. (MSNBC hosts Chris Matthews and Ed Schultz slammed Obama's performance.)

snip

UPDATE (9:47 p.m.): Cutter emails:
"Jim Lehrer absolutely did his job as a mderator, as only Jim Lehrer can do. But Mitt Romney wanted to play by his own rules, and that came across loud and clear."

UPDATE (10:21 p.m.): Romney spokesperson:
'You've lost debate when you start blaming the moderator'

Cutter's email indicates Romney can take charge. WTH did she think her message would be?

Obama:
Quote:

...All those things are designed to make sure that the American people, their genius, their grit, their determination, is -- is channeled and -- and they have an opportunity to succeed. And everybody's getting a fair shot. And everybody's getting a fair share -- everybody's doing a fair share, and everybody's playing by the same rules.

You know, four years ago, I said that I'm not a perfect man and I wouldn't be a perfect president. And that's probably a promise that Governor Romney thinks I've kept. But I also promised that I'd fight every single day on behalf of the American people, the middle class, and all those who were striving to get into the middle class. I've kept that promise and if you'll vote for me, then I promise I'll fight just as hard in a second term....

Fits in well with his recently exposed video, where he is intentionally using false information to condemn "they" for not providing funds for "OUR COMMUNITY" in New Orleans!

[fighting for] ...the middle class, and all those who were striving to get into the middle class

Barry's plan is needs a new definition for "middle class", as he lowers the bar for all.
