How many remember this one? I actually had not heard of it. I was only 8 at the time, though.
Anyway, it's a reminder that this stuff isn't new and it's hit home before.

WOW!!! I was at LaGuardia the day the bomb went off. I was flying Eastern to Florida to visit my parents. I left an hour or less before the explosion went off. As it turned out it was in the next terminal, not the one I was in. I did not know about it until I got to Florida when we were watching the news. Pretty scary thing to see on the news That I was there just before the bomb went off and knowing I had to fly back there after Christmas. When I got back to LaGuardia on my way to Ithaca, I saw all the damage. It was quite extensive and most of it was boarded up. Really scary.

When I got into the LaGuardia terminal I heard about a Pan Am crash that happened in the Everglades on it way to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. I cant remember which airport. That crash happened less than an hour after we took off from Lauderdale.

A vacation I hope I never have to experience again. As a side note my Aunt was in the Rome airport when that massacre went off. She was in the terminal when the gunfire started. Thankfully she came through it a-ok.

My mom's cousin investigated this bombing and was profiled on 60 minutes. Or it was the bombing at JFK, I can't remember which. Dan Rather gave him a photo signed by Robert Redford, for the cousin's daughter who was so young that her mother said clueless Rather would have been better off giving the young girl a photo signed by Mickey Mouse. I thought Rather was indirectly hitting on cousin's wife.
