I wish I had time to pick Barry's speech apart, along with Bill's also. But...

WHAT IS BARRY'S PLAN???

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/09/06/transcript-obama-speech-at-dnc/

... And the truth is, it will take more than a few years for us to solve challenges that have built up over decades. It'll require common effort, shared responsibility, and the kind of bold, persistent experimentation that Franklin Roosevelt pursued during the only crisis worse than this one.

Skipping the generalization of those problems he alledges have built up "over decades" (often cited as "30 years" I suppose to blame Reagan), that paragraph above is loaded. I sense that part is added to open the door to numerous excuses, but, anyway...

He needs more time (8 years for a 4 year job?)...

The "common effort" makes YOU the one to blame for failure...

With "shared responsibility", so you know we're all going to pay for something...

This situation, after Barry has ALREADY worked on it for FOUR YEARS is still the second worst "CRISIS" over the last couple hundred years...

And after he has conveniently identified himself as a hero equal to the FDR - the Master of the New Deal redistribution trough that all Democrats love to eat at - Barry notes that his solution is "persistent experimentation" today ...so

A vote for Barry is a vote for...

PERSISTENT EXPERIMENTATION

Well, that's what he said...

If I was running things in the GOP party, I would point out - the DEMS don't want jobs. Their leaders don't want jobs - they want a check from someone else. It's a cheap offer - and piss poor example for their kids, but was Jobs part of that platform?

He wants to take the money from the Wars and spend on more of the same failed social programs. The money for the War was borrowed and is deficit spending. So, the man with the brash high level one-liners of reducing the deficit, wants to add to it (once again) to double and triple down on failed giveaways and freebies.

Are there any more Gov't funds for them to Raid?

They have always said people will vote with their pocketbooks. They've neglected to point out that's what DEM voters are doing - voing for the Freebies, Giveaways, and No Job paychecks.

Forrest Gump could tell you where that path will take us.

If Barry has a plan that will turn around this economy why has he waited till now to do it? He had 2 years with complete democrat control and nothing he did helped. Also the budgets he has sent to congress have been so bad that not even the democrats wanted to vote for it. The same budgets do nothing but increase spending year after year.

Obama's first priority was to pay off his friends and donors. He follows the Soros plan.

I think there is a resentment that billions can go missing as in MF Global and nobody goes to jail for it.

The Republicans should make an issue of how Obama has been soft on corporate crime and that his DOJ has not been active on prosecuting crime of the nature of MF Global. Obama is really an elitist (and takes elitist vacations) that dresses up as a champion of the middle and lower classes at election time.

Obamas excuse for elitism is.... "I am the President".

The common folk eat it up.

"My name is Barack Obama and I AM the President" . . . Aaron Sorkin must be writing his speeches now.

I'm not sure what kind of credit to give this article, but it stirred my interest:

Obama's 'FDR' plan exposed?

Many were left to ponder what Barack Obama meant when he used his Democratic National Convention speech last week to call for “the kind of bold, persistent experimentation that Franklin Roosevelt pursued during the only crisis worse than this one.”

Two bestselling authors believe they may have solved that puzzle by uncovering progressive plans for Obama’s second term that may include the re-creation of a 21st century version of FDR’s Works Progress Administration as part of a massive government-funded jobs program.

During his DNC speech, Obama declared: “It will take more than a few years for us to solve challenges that have built up over decades. It will require common effort, shared responsibility, and the kind of bold, PERSISTENT EXPERIMENTATION that Franklin Roosevelt pursued during the only crisis worse than this one.”

The president did not specify which possible methods of “experimentation” he had in mind, but in the recently released book “Fool Me Twice: Obama’s Shocking Plans for the Next Four Years Exposed,” New York Times bestselling authors Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott document second term plans that come right from FDR’s playbook, most prominently an updated version of the WPA within the Department of Labor.

“Fool Me Twice” documents how progressive groups tied to the White House back the 2011 21st Century Works Progress Administration Act. The legislation would “immediately put Americans to work rebuilding our nation and strengthening our communities,” according to its literature.

The 21st century reincarnation of Roosevelt’s WPA would operate under the auspices of a Works Progress Administration created within the Department of Labor and headed by the secretary of labor.

The bill, proposed by Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg, D-N.J., proposes projects similar to those of the earlier era, including residential and commercial building weatherization; residential and commercial water use efficiency improvement; highway, bridge and rail repair and maintenance; manufacturing projects; school, library and firehouse construction; soil erosion and pesticide runoff prevention; National Park and trail maintenance; and “other projects that are proposed by the eligible departments and determined appropriate by the administration.”

So what do they have in mind for that PERSISTENT EXPERIMENTATION Barry, himself, tells us he wants?

Maybe...

Pending Senate Finance Committee
September 7 2011 - Read twice and referred to the Committee on Finance.

Summary
21st Century WPA Act - Establishes within the Department of Labor a Works Progress Administration (WPA). Requires eligible federal departments to submit to the WPA proposals for works projects that produce a high number of employee hours per dollar of the total project cost, and meet certain other criteria. Permits such projects to include: (1) residential and commercial building weatherization projects; (2) residential and commercial water use efficiency improvement projects; (3) highway, bridge, and rail repair and maintenance projects; (4) manufacturing projects; (5) school, library, and firehouse construction projects; (6) soil erosion and pesticide runoff prevention projects; and (7) trail maintenance projects. Makes an employer who is unable to hire an individual to fill a job position that has been vacant for 90 days eligible to enter into an agreement with the WPA to provide training to a WPA fellow in order to become qualified to fill such position. Prescribes WPA fellowship program requirements. Authorizes the Secretary of Labor to transfer amounts appropriated under this Act to the Attorney General and to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for grants for the hiring of eligible public safety individuals. Amends the Internal Revenue Code to impose a 5.4% surcharge on individual taxpayers whose modified adjusted gross income exceeds $1 million ($2 million for joint returns). Dedicates amounts collected from such surcharge to federal deficit reduction.
