"...The survey’s sample was 38 percent Democrats, 37 percent Republicans and 25 percent independent voters." I have never known Missouri to be so balanced in party breakdown, they've always been more Democrat than Republican. News has show the Ind's have grown quite a bit there, but I had not seen news the blue & red were near even. |

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/governor/mo/missouri_governor_spence_vs_nixon-3095.html The Gov race is double digit Democrat, so I doubt the blue & red is balanced in polling. I would believe a poll that had most Ind's and some Dem's simply voting against McCaskil ...not necessarily for Akin. |

There is no party affiliation in missouri. Primary elections are open. When voting, one chooses the ballot they wish to vote, either democrat or republican. I am not sure how polls would work other than to believe what a missourian is saying to the pollster over the phone. I would suspect that the pollsters try to get an even number of people who declare democrat and republican. Missouri voted for bush, bush and mccain in the last three presidential elections. Missouri is leaning Romney today. |

Just when you think Akin has blown it you realize just how bad Claire McCaskill is. Whistle-blower audio: Sen. Claire McCaskill’s husband cut business deals in Senate Dining Room Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill’s husband used the U.S. Senate Dining Room to cut business deals selling tax credits tied to stimulus money, a whistle-blowing executive inside his company alleged on an audio recording exclusively obtained by The Daily Caller. “The thing that irritated me about this was he [McCaskill’s husband Joseph Shepard] entertained these outside investors in the Senate Dining Room,” the whistle-blower said. “That’s where he closed the deal.” The whistle-blower, Craig Woods, was a longtime high-ranking official within Shepard’s business empire, serving first as chief financial officer and then as vice president and chief underwriter for Missouri Equity Investors LLC and JA Shepard Companies. http://dailycaller.com/2012/10/18/whistle-blower-audio-sen-claire-mccaskills-husband-cut-business-deals-in-senate-dining-room/ |

I'm not finding much that will put Claire under. The tape is an ex-employee making allegations that Claire's husband used the Senate Dining room. If the deals on cuts was illegal, that's another story. Tax cuts and losses on record are sold daily. It's more of a Congressional policy issue then, for they make the laws. It is a prime example of the crooked operations going on all the time using taxpayers money. |

Todd Akin can seem to get out of the doghouse with the MSM http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/22/us/politics/gops-beleaguered-akin-draws-ire-over-fetch-comment.html?amp G.O.P.’s Beleaguered Akin Draws Ire Over ‘Fetch’ Talk By JOHN ELIGON Published: October 21, 2012 KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Representative Todd Akin, the Republican Senate candidate, drew ire and fire again during the weekend for comments likening his Democratic opponent’s legislative actions to those of a dog responding to the command of fetch..." (IMO, much ado about nothing. Akin is using descriptive terms to make a point) But then, Akin's spokesman doubled down. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-34222_162-57537528/akin-spokesman-labels-mccaskill-bullshitsu/ On Saturday, Missouri Republican Rep. and U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin compared his opponent, Sen. Claire McCaskill, to a dog, saying she goes to Washington to "fetch" big government and dump it on Missouri voters. The comparison was not well-received. Akin likens opponent McCaskill to a dog . But if you assumed Akin would walk back the comment, especially in light of his growing roster of controversial statements, you were wrong. On Monday, Akin spokesman Rick Tyler doubled down on the comparison, writing on Twitter, "If Claire McCaskill were a dog, she'd be a 'Bullshitsu'." McCaskill's campaign immediately seized upon the message in a fundraising email sent Monday. "I'm not shocked. I'm not even upset that he compared Claire to a dog," insisted campaign manager Adrianne Marsh. "At this point, I really don't expect anything more or less from Todd Akin." |
