While you were making your, I Am Trayvon Martin Poster, 25 people were shot overnight in Chicago - ZERO arrests.

I think we need a new Stat on Income Disparity. The disparity of the group members and that of the Black Community Leaders - Al Sharptan and Jesse Jackson.

How much more can these guys fleece these dying communities?

That "25" sounds like some kind of crowd shot down, but this may really be something like 15 to 20 or so individual criminals killings people all on the same night ....and it's not reading like the perp's know each other, it's just a very dangerous city.

Here is a blog run by a CPD officer. More real news about crime in Chicago that the Old Media ignores. The Chicago media reads it too.

And, you know, it's a tragedy that Trayvon lost his life, but it wasn't a case of a drug deal gone bad,
a gang-related killing, retribution over some dispute, a robbery gone bad, a cold-blooded murder, etc

The fact is that GZ thought he was doing a good thing trying to protect his neighborhood, which
had been plagued with a number of recent break-ins and robberies. He called 911 to report a
suspicious person walking in the rain at night, behaving kind of strangely, and requested that
police come and check him out. If Trayvon doesn't start slamming GZ's head to the ground,
he would still be alive today. He did not have a right to assault GZ like that just because he
observed GZ following him.

Boy, 14, fatally shot in Uptown pizzeria

A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed while eating pizza with his older sister in the Uptown neighborhood early this morning, officials said.

The shooting happened about 2:45 a.m. in a pizza and liquor store in the 5100 block of North Broadway, according to police.

The boy was inside with his adult sister and her friend when a gunman standing on the sidewalk fired shots through the doorway, police said.

The boy suffered a gunshot wound to the face and was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he later died, officials said.

The boy was identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office as Ivan Alanis of the 7400 block of North Western Avenue.

No one was in custody, police said.

The criminals are running that city.

Maybe they need a Whole Foods store to make them behave?

And Michelle said on an ABC interview that mayors should restructure cities so that children will have a safer place to play. Her "Let's Move!" campaign should first focus on eliminating drug and gang violence then proceed with grocery stores and city parks if she believes that's the solution to the country's problems.

Ann Romney should speak out against gang violence and see how Michelle responds. Let Michelle respond to the elephant in the room.

So the question is this - why would a 14 year old boy and his sister be out at that time of the evening (early morning) eating pizza? Why would a store be open that late?

25 shootings in one night - zero arrests - and all we get are calls for inner-city gourmet grocery stores.

Somewhat disturbing.

I doubt fresh produce will help much!

Roberts asked [M]Obama about the criticism from some saying she‘s trying to insert government into people’s food choices. Nodding as though she understands the concern, the First Lady responded:
  • …This isn’t about government telling people what to do. What we know we need to do is give parents, communities, families the tools and information they need to make choices that are right for them and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. … “Let’s Move!” is a way of giving people the tools and information and it really requires everybody to step up.

...We need our mayors stepping up, restructuring cities so that kids have safer places to play. We need our food manufacturers stepping up and really thinking about how to reformulate food products so that they are a little more healthy [and] affordable. We need big supermarkets to locate grocery stores in under-served communities. So, it’s a little bit of everything.

    ...I love campaigning,”

At least she did mention "families". Nothing about the entitlements that influence them to be SINGLE-PARENT families, only how to blame the local governing bodies for not overcoming the incentives for mommas to pop out more daddy-less babies ...then back to that campaign, promising that the check is in the mail!
