oooh Rep Mica (R) who sits on the House Oversight Committee has been briefed on depositions regarding the GSA. He just stated that the scandals coming out of the GSA are much worse than the Secret Service Scandal. It will shock us. You don't think what I am thinking? |

I certainly couldn't disagree with you. Our Federal Govt is one gigantic sucking machine of capital. Congress has for decades become the distributor of Pork. The list is long on both sides of the isle but the shear magnitude of the spending since the Stimulus has out distance anything we have ever seen. Just take Murtha for example and his wasteful airport. I could give you examples of wasteful military programs. Over & over again it is repeated. I was upset with Bush in his 2nd term as he refused to veto one spending bill. However we are in now. We have a President who has held 122 fundraisers, most needing travel He has played 94 rounds of Golf in 3 1/4 years He has taken 17 vacations His Sec of Defense flies weekly back on to California & his walnut ranch at huge expense to us Taxpayers. We all have our own examples. However the problem is so huge and human nature being what it we need a a face, a focus, to get upset & create action. We now have one ![]() Edited by Baldo, Apr 19 2012, 06:59 PM.

everytime i see this picture I have to ask - What was he thinking? That he photographed extensively his "vacations" - for lack of a better word - at the taxpayers expense demonstrates the utter contempt that the GSA officials have for those who ultimately pay for their soirees. |

I agree with the utter contempt theory, but when you consider how long these practices have gone on in DC, isn't it logical to think that these employees have a right to assume that these abuses have long ago been condoned by the taxpayer. I also agree with Duke Parent 2004, that it pales in comparison to the multiple "bridges to nowhere" that taxpayers have funded and various other pork barrel spending schemes that have costs us billions of dollars. Yes the GSA is now the poster child of government waste, but it is merely the tip of the iceberg. Who and when will we destroy the iceberg? |

Earlier today I listened to Rep Mica talk about what for sure will be indictments. He said Neeley was turned in long ago and the GSA did nothing. They were even warned about his 17 day "trip" to Hawaii and the south sea, but approved it. This scandal most likely goes higher. He said the White House knew of this over a year ago. So what have we learned about this Administration? 5 Trillion in debt. Nothing more needs be said. No Congress, no President has ever gone on a spending spree like this. Obama doesn't care. |

It's possible that Neely was a dual agent of sorts. He may have been scoping out vacation spots for Michelle and the girls. There may be a reason O likes to get them out of DC. It seems his agents know how to move in "classy" circles. |

Key figure in GSA partying probe leaves Neely headed agency’s Western region Jeffrey Neely, the central figure in a lavish taxpayer-funded Las Vegas convention that saw magic acts and federal workers sipping martinis on a red carpet, has left the General Services Administration (GSA). The departure comes as scrutiny on the 2010 conference intensifies and weeks after Mr. Neely, a GSA regional commissioner, refused to testify before Congress, citing his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. The GSA's Office of Inspector General uncovered massive waste and has declined to release its investigatory files on the conference in response to an open records request, citing an ongoing law enforcement probe....snipped http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/may/24/key-figure-in-gsa-partying-probe-leaves/ |

With a pension for life, I presume. What's to keep this clown from getting a job with another wasteful agency in Washington? |
