If we were closing schools in the US due to rockets being fired at us, what would be our response? (What will Israel's response be if the rockets hit a school full of kids?) |

On 16 August 2011, Raytheon Company announced that it had teamed with Rafael in order to lead marketing in the United States for the Iron Dome system. "Iron Dome complements other Raytheon weapons that provide intercept capabilities to the US Army’s Counter Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar initiative at forward operating bases," said Mike Booen, vice president of Raytheon Missile Systems’ Advanced Security and Directed Energy Systems product line. "Iron Dome can be seamlessly integrated with Raytheon’s C-RAM systems to complete the layered defense."[61] On 10 November 2011 the Jerusalem Post reported that the US Army had expressed interest in acquiring the system, to be deployed outside forward bases in Iraq and Afghanistan that could potentially be targeted by Katyusha rockets. The US military had discovered 107 mm. Katyushas in Iraq in the past.[62] On 1 December 2011 the Jerusalem Post reported that the US Army would decide in January 2012[dated info] whether it would purchase the system. Yossi Druker, head of Rafael’s Air-to-Air Directorate, said that the initial deal is valued at $100 million, but could reach several hundred million dollars over a number of years.[63] |

ID can also intercept artillery shells... It has a specific mission that wouldn't necessarily fit other needs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Dome |

. Owebama abandoned the development our most sophisticated Missile Defense system. He laughed it off as a Pie-in-the-Sky. . Edited by Mason, Mar 12 2012, 03:56 PM.
