Longstop posted this on a similar thread. March 6, 2012 Investors flee Carbonite after Limbaugh announcement On Saturday, Carbonite CEO David Friend released a statement on his company’s website declaring that Carbonite had decided to "withdraw" advertising from Rush Limbaugh's radio show in the wake of his controversial remarks involving Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke because it will "ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse": "Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse." However, it hasn't done much to contribute to his company's stock price. Since the market opened on Monday through its close today, Carbonite stock (NASDAQ:CARB) has plummeted nearly 12 percent, outpacing the drop of the NASDAQ index in that same time period by nine-and-a-half points. It was also one of the biggest decliners on the NASDAQ on Tuesday. http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/06/investors-flee-carbonite-after-limbaugh-announcement/ Two Lessons 1) Never pull your ads with the most popular USA radio talk show host 2) Never call a woman a "slut." "Well, Jane, it just goes to show you, it's always something--if it ain't one thing, it's another."Roseanne Roseannadanna |

. They are going to be clamoring for her to run for office soon. Obama did the routine making her out to be 18 or 19 yrs old, too. Anything but the Truth, that's the Media/Obama campaign. . |

It seems to me the "echo chamber" has been the condemnation of Limbaugh for using the word slut. I can't recall here or anywhere that he's actually been defended. So let me take a shot at saying something that is not an echo. I don't have a problem with what he said. I don't have a problem with him using the word slut when talking about a woman who has a lot sex, with different men. I don't have a problem with the word prostitute when used to refer to a woman who wants to be paid, to have sex. I didn't hear everything he said, apparently he went at it for 3 days. but I heard the offending words and got the general idea. I thought it was pretty entertaining. I understood everything he was saying. First and foremost the issue was forcing a Catholic institution to provide something which goes against it's fundamental religious beliefs and teaching, the Obama administration's total disregard for the First Amendment. The compromise which still violates religious freedom and assaults the free market by using the power of government to tell private insurance companies what services they have to provide. Got that, it is wrong, wrong, wrong! Serious issues but simple. Got it. Then there was the issue that Ms. Fluke didn't simply insist that every women have access to whatever birth control she wanted but that it be provided for free! Again, wrong, wrong, wrong! Serious problems, the entitlement mentality, the dependency on government, the lack of personal responsibility. Got it. But then there was Ms. Fluke's contention that women cannot afford to pay for their own birth control, that it was an untenable financial burden. They were suffering financially! That while attending one of the most expensive law schools in the nation, it was the cost of birth control that they could not afford. Women are going broke! It was the statement, that birth control could cost over $3,000 in three years of law school that sent Rush into the spiel that caused all the trouble. He could have just said this woman was stupid or a liar or really bad at math and been done with it but instead he did what he does. He made fun of what she said. What she said before members of Congress, in what amounted to a press conference. Since most woman know and it was easy to verify how cheap the pill is (not to mention that apparently you can even get them for free) the discussion turned to condoms. They'd priced them in bulk, from Amazon or somewhere, etc. I don't remember what exactly he figured but it was multiple condoms per day that you would have to buy to get to that $1,000 figure. In other words, you could have the pill and a whole lot of condoms for $1,000 a year. So how much sex was this woman having? More than any one man could manage, clearly. He wondered how she managed to have time to attend classes, study, etc. I am pretty sure he said he was surprised she was able to walk. We all know the word for a woman who has so much sex she’d need $1,000 a year for birth control. We all know the word for a woman who gets paid to have sex. And he used the words. I don't think it would have made any difference if he had not, the implication was clear. And I don't think he was calling her either of those two things, he was making fun of her for the outrageous assertion that women would go broke if forced to be responsible for their own birth control. Which was ridiculous and deserved to be made fun of. To be so politically correct that you can't make fun of someone who says stupid stuff, that offends me. |

It was a distraction from obamas real problem, THE ECONOMY. Rush will not fall into that trap anymore. And neither will I. Anything a democrat does or says IMO will be and is a lie. No offense for present company. |

Does paying for others to have sex include sending your child and child's spouse on a delayed honeymoon with the hope of getting grandchildren?

If the contraception is preventive care, then what is the baby? Will worker's comp pay for this too, so folks can have fun on the job? |

. Add this to the list of those Obama decided that he did not need to invoke his young daughters, or publicly enter the fray: A man who owns mosques, makes hundreds of millions, has Priests and Priestesses, and a whole empire - Louis Farrakhan. Why didn't Obama refute Farrakhan's statements? Just one more in a long list. . |
