ganja smoking boss man forgets what he promises year after year. no problem mon. who cares. Algae will never come close to replacing oil. What talking about algae does is convince people that are not familiar with algae as a fuel to see that part of obama as the change he promised. Ignorance is bliss as the political strategy behind hope and change. In many cases, if you don't understand it and the president says its good, its gotta be good. We need to educate the people better. |

Are you sure that plan would work? It seems to me like the over-educated are the problem. |

label this brilliant.... or not. thanks to weaselzippers California Chevy Volt Owners Will Be Allowed To Drive Solo In Carpool Lanes, Given $1,500 State Rebate… ![]() Total rebates would be $11,500 ($10K from federal government) and I bet the POS still won’t sell. DETROIT — A low emission model of the 2012 Chevrolet Volt electric car are on their way to California, where customers will qualify for a $1,500 state rebate and be allowed to drive solo in the state’s carpool lanes. Volts with the Low Emissions Package, which is standard for California, began shipping from the General Motors Detroit-Hamtramck plant this week and should begin arriving at the more than 140 participating Chevrolet dealerships in California before the end of the month. “The Volts with the Low Emissions Package are certain to be a strong draw for California commuters looking to travel the state’s notoriously congested freeways in the carpool lane,” said Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. Commuters who use carpool lanes in Southern California save an estimated average 36 minutes a day, or about a third of their total driving time. --------------------------------- sometimes I wonder which is worse....Durham NC or calif. |

As they had said earlier. I kinda wish they had held back on the announcment a few months, but most of the public can read between the lines on what the WH had to say. |

![]() It is unbelievable to watch Gas Prices continue to soar in NorCal. Chevron has raised unleaded in all of their stations locally to $4.34/gal. Lowest price is now $4.07/gallon at Costco. |

I have driven there and those so called Carpool lanes were meant to reduce congestion by encouraging car-pooling to take extra cars off the road. Recently in NorCal a University did a study and found out that by allowing all cars to use the carpool lane they reduced congestion and the entire freeway moved faster. LA Freeways are something else. But that makes too much sense. Edited by Baldo, Feb 27 2012, 08:55 PM.

Special Cars for Special People. It really is a big pile of doo-doo. It is outrageous. Govt Motors spending $250,000 / Volt to develop it. Tax credits of close to $10,000 for buyers, special treatment for carpools lanes. They are desperate. It isn't selling. Their Dreams are falling apart. Maybe they can get help from the BLS to get those "reported" sales up? Edited by Baldo, Feb 27 2012, 09:31 PM.

Gov. Daniels: Obama administration 'wanted higher gas prices' Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels (R) blamed President Obama for the spike in oil prices, saying the administration had pushed for consumers to pay higher prices at the pump. "Let's give the president credit for one domestic policy that works. He wanted higher gas prices and he got them," said Daniels on Fox News Sunday. "Secretary Chu said $8 are about what they pay in Europe. It would be great. Secretary Salazar said $10 and it still wouldn't be for drilling in the places where we know there's an awful lot of domestic production. And so, they have gotten the doubling of gas prices and perhaps worse, it's a conscious policy of this administration. Maybe the one thing they set out to do and actually accomplished." he said....snipped http://thehill.com/blogs/e2-wire/e2-wire/212597-daniels-obama-wanted-higher-gas-prices "Let's give the president credit for one domestic policy that works. OPEC Leaders Are ‘Laughing at Us’: Donald Trump Got me to thinking (happens about every other year!). The House of Saud reduced production a few weeks ago. The House of Saud does NOT like Barry. The House of Saud would rather deal with Israel than Iran (if they must choose). |

I can't imagine these prices not hurting small business. I am retired but I know what they do to a construction & service company. They squeeze profit margins. They hurt your employees. They cause you to cut back in any way possible. For truckers they are misery. You just can't pass on the increased costs in this environment. Watch out for food prices because the cost of energy really effects farming & distribution. |
