I'm yet to find any article that mentions what has NOT happened in the gulf as a result of Barry's actions.

The King will deign to speak to us...
"...At the same time, these officials, who briefed reporters Tuesday on the president’s plans, acknowledged that there is almost nothing the president can do in the near term to lower gas prices.

I need to research on who could lower the fuel tax ...the tax that pays upfront to fix roads and bridges (and for a few green dreamS!).

His speech should include what he plans to propose to Congress ...it's their fault.

According to FloridaStateGasPrices.com, a Shell station in Lake Buena Vista, not far from the Walt Disney World Resort, was charging $5.89 a gallon. Midgrade was $5.94 while premium was $5.99 a gallon. Whether the prices are a publicity stunt to draw attention to the station is anybody’s guess. But if it was a stunt – it’s working. Word of the price spike has made headlines nationwide.

The Shell station in the Orlando area wasn’t the only one to nudge prices near the six-dollar a gallon range. A Sun Gas Express and a Suncoast Energy station in southeast Orlando on Butler National Dr are charging $5.69 to $5.79 respectively.

A Mobil station in Lake Buena Vista on Apopka Vineland Rd near I-4 was charging $4.69 a gallon for regular Wednesday afternoon.

In South Florida, we couldn’t find any stations with outrageous prices like the above, but we did find a few that have already reportedly breached the four-dollar a gallon mark.

Some stations by Miami International Airport are already selling regular unleaded for $4.39 a gallon.

So the people that dutifully and unquestioningly linked Bush and Cheney to higher Gas Prices - and convincingly reported the belief that Nancy and Obammy would bring us lower Gas Prices - are now reporting that Obama doesn't have anything to do with higher Gas Prices.

Barack himself, and Hillary, for 18 months tied George Bush personally to every person they said was living out of their Car Trunk and couldn't afford Gas to go to a Job Interview.

So excuse me for being shocked to now find that Barack Obama and the U.S. Govt Policies don't have anything to do with Gasoline Prices. Who Knew?

But, wait, why did they run on lowering them then?

I thought maybe they were going to say that Barack was so busy personally creating jobs for every American that he forgot about lowering Gasoline prices. Poor guy.

Nancy Pelosi Issues Statement On Soaring Gas Prices

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the rising gas prices across the country:

“Independent reports confirm that speculators are driving up the cost of oil, hurting consumers and potentially damaging the economic recovery. Wall Street profiteering, not oil shortages, is the cause of the price spike. In fact, U.S. oil production is at its highest level since 2003, and millions of acres have been cleared for additional development.

“We need to take strong action to protect consumers from this speculation. Unfortunately, Republicans have chosen to protect the interests of Wall Street speculators and oil companies instead of the interests of working Americans by obstructing the agencies with the responsibility of enforcing consumer protection laws. They have also repeatedly opposed our efforts to end billions of dollars in outdated taxpayer subsidies for oil companies enjoying record profits.

“We support efforts by the Obama Administration to expand domestic energy resources, including natural gas and renewable sources like wind and solar that create jobs in America and will end our dangerous dependence on foreign energy supplies. This can be achieved because today, the United States currently has more oil and gas rigs at work than the rest of the world combined, and imports of foreign oil have decreased.

“We call on the Republican leadership to act on behalf of American consumers and join our efforts to crack down on speculators who care more about their profits than the price at the pump even if these spikes harm the American consumer and our economy.”

Bill O'Reilly opened up for the second night in a row with his Narrative that it's Evil Oil Companies Greed controlling the Price of Gas. There is absolutely no doubt, he's running interference for Obama on this one.

Case in point - how is it a man with the Number one prime Time show and a large staff at his beckon goes into Oil Prices for long segments on consecutive nights - but can't seem to find a little fact to report. The fact that Obama choose for his Energy Secretary a man that openly and repeatedly called for Oil Prices to be what they are in Europe, at the time around $9.00-$10.00 a gallon!

How does this little, inexplicable, fact ellude the Big man in Cable News?

Think about that.

A theory is that because of News Corp troubles with tapping phones, Fox is worried about possible arrests and is going easy on Obama so the justice dept. doesn't go after News Corp officials.

At least part of what she said is true! Sorta reads like she has the blame narrowed down to that 1% crowd.

No need to mention why they're speculating the market will pay more!

CNN Didn't ask a Single Question about Gas or Oil prices in last night's Debate.

Nothing remotely close!

The media is closing ranks to do whatever they can. With the media, it's all about timing. They only have to protect him for 7 months, is the thinking.

Price Shock: Watch Cost of Gas Jump 10 Cents During ABC's 'World News' Broadcast
ABC News – 11 hrs ago

The headlines of major newspapers and TV networks this week have been dominated by rising gas prices.

Drivers across the country have shared their stories on the cost - with many already paying more than $4 a gallon at the pump. There have even been reports of gas prices rising at a rate of 10 to 15 cents in a matter of hours.

Read: How high will gas prices go?

The swiftness at which those gas prices continue to climb was crystal clear Wednesday night during the broadcast of ABC News' "World News with Diane Sawyer."

As ABC News' Cecilia Vega introduced her piece on high gas prices, the sign at the downtown Los Angeles gas station behind her showed the price of regular gas at $4.99 a gallon. However when the piece concluded nearly two minutes later the price of regular gas had jumped 10 cents to $5.09 a gallon.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Even Vega seemed truly surprised to see such a drastic change in such a short period of time, telling Sawyer that "it is almost too unbelievable to believe."

"It went up 10 cents?" asked Sawyer, herself shocked at what just had occurred.

"Ten cents during that two minutes while we were on the air," confirmed Vega.

Watch the exchange here:

Analysis: Obama goes on offense over high gasoline prices
Reuters – 7 hours ago

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - As Republican presidential candidates toss barbs at Barack Obama over expensive gasoline, the U.S. president and his team are going on the offensive with a strategy to divert blame and prepare voters for higher costs.

In subtle and not so subtle ways, Obama, a Democrat, is raising the issue of high prices to promote his own policy priorities and blunt criticism from the men vying to unseat him in the November 6 election.

His strategy is both politically- and policy-oriented. The president wants to advance his plans to increase renewable energy sources and reduce U.S. reliance on foreign oil.

But he also needs to win the war of words to gain an upper hand over Republicans in Western battleground states such as Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico, where people drive a lot and feel the sting of rising prices acutely.

Republicans see many weaknesses to exploit. They blame Obama for not doing enough to increase domestic production of fossil fuels and cite his decision to block a new oil pipeline from Canada as evidence that he is beholden to environmentalists.

Rising gasoline costs have brought the issue to the forefront of the presidential campaign. So Obama has started to pepper his speeches with references to prices at the pump.

..... divert blame

.

Does he do anything else?

Obama has spoken about higher gas prices being beneficial - if they go gradually - and his hand-picked Energy Secretary has said Gas Prices should optimially be around $9-$10 a Gallon.

However, he's going to blame everyone - and mainly those hated Rich. Look for him to lecture on Greed instead of addressing his incompetence.
