. ESPN Radio was discussing the Broncos win over the Steelers - saying that Everyone is America is asking, how could this have happened? The ESPN Radio high paid analyst stated that essentially Tebow is so Naive that he is not intimidated. He doesn't understand how close he came from being taken apart physically by James Harrison and Troy Polamu - and it aids him greatly, but his time is coming... It sounded to me as if he (and numerous callers) was saying Tebow was too Stupid to know how close he was to being damaged for the rest of his career. We should start counting the (media) reasons that his team ended up winning. . Edited by Mason, Jan 9 2012, 02:14 PM.

Just to put it on the record Troy Polamalu is a deeply religious man who walks the walk. Polamalu's favorite pastimes include surfing, growing flowers, making furniture and playing the piano. Despite Polamalu's hard-hitting style on the gridiron, he is known off the field as a soft-spoken family man. Polamalu is also well read in the history and theology of early Christianity, which ultimately led him and his wife Theodora to convert to Orthodox Christianity in 2007. He makes the Sign of the Cross after every play. Among his spiritual activities is a pilgrimage to Orthodox Christian sites in Greece and Turkey, taken in 2007. He seldom gives interviews, but when he does, he often speaks of the role his spirituality plays in his life. Polamalu has said that he tries to separate himself from his profession as much as possible, including not watching football games at home. He prays after each play and on the sidelines. His children, Paisios, and Ephraim, are both named after well-known Greek Orthodox Christian saints. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_Polamalu Tim Tebow and Troy Polmalu are both worthy of being role models |

Tim Tebow comes from a family that is deeply religious and has an Evangelical Ministry. I guess that rubs some wrong. http://www.btea.org/aboutus.asp It is just my opinion, but I believe some of the deeper hatred comes from his family's anti-abortion stance and due to the fact his mother went against doctor's orders and did not abort Tim when he was in the womb. Also the pro-life commercial that was run during a Super Bowl caused a lot of upset. You be the judge. Focus on the Family SuperBowl Commercial with Tim Tebow Pam Tebow: I call him my miracle baby. He almost didn’t make it into this world. I remember so many times when I almost lost him. It was so hard. Well he's all grown up now, and I still worry about his health. Everybody treats him like he's different, but to me, he's just my baby. He's my Timmy, and I love him. Tim Tebow: Thanks, mom. Love you, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoCcxp-T7d8 Man that whole family is amazing. Tim Tebow also has a foundation. http://www.timtebowfoundation.org/# Edited by Baldo, Jan 9 2012, 05:52 PM.

As Rush Limbaugh has said ever since he's been broadcasting, abortion is the hard-core left's Holy Sacrament. And Tim Tebow represents a threat to that and must therefore be destroyed. |

Tim Tebow, especially a sucessful Tim Tebow, has mass appeal. The left have been trying to change society and have been successful in doing that through the media -- such as movies and TV -- and education. Sports is another thing that can influence large numbers of people. Tebow's story and his character goes against the left's efforts to transform society. It's more complicated that this but the main thing is the effect on the masses that Tebow can have. |

I saw ESPN TV this morning because I had missed the game yesterday. They gave quite a bit of time to the Bronco's victory. The program started out with the announcer saying that they would talk quite a bit about Tebow and people needed to get over it if they didn't like it. (A subtle dig). The highlights of the game was the best part. Very exciting. There was also some mention of Brady Quinn "Brady Quinn taking some snaps with the first team in Denver Broncos practice, reports Pro Football Talk" http://www.cleveland.com/ohio-sports-blog/index.ssf/2012/01/brady_quinn_taking_some_snaps.html It was a tough loss for the Steelers, but perhaps Ben Roethlisberger made himself feel a bit better by wearing a stylish suit and hat. I thought it looked good. Not the best picture below, though. http://cincinnati.com/blogs/sports/2012/01/08/twitterverse-reacts-to-roethlisbergers-hat/ Edited by foxglove, Jan 9 2012, 07:20 PM.

. ESPN, immediately after the game, were tongue-tied. Berman, Jackson, and Trent Dilfer - tripped, avoided using Tebow's name, and frankly said some stupid things trying to avoid giving Tebow Credit. His play has forced some to say good things about Tebow, which is not a good thing for your popularity in the Sports Media world. The first analysis of this sudden playoff win - and Berman says, we still don't know how the Overtime Rules in Playoff games will work. Well, we know how they work, we don't know how it may cause problems. Anyway, hem and haw - and avoid using the word "Tebow." 24 hours later, it's clear to them they have no choice but to grant credit while holding up some coach, player, or ingredient they can also give credit to. . |

. Yeah, but how many minds are shaped by this way of thinking? How many don't understand they're being fed a narrative and an angle? ESPN has up on their main football page - a Perfect QB performance - or something like that - it's about a Night Mike Vick had - and they've had that up for about a Year. They are at least half about politics. The Media loved Reggie White, didn't they? . |

. Think the game won Tebow any Slack? This is from the Associated Press today - YES - after the game: "Fox finds himself defending the scheme as often as opponents do. "They played that kind of football at a pretty high level in college, you know, and there have been some very successful, productive offenses in this type of offense. But it's a little unique for the National Football League," he conceded. That's because once the novelty of the "read-option" wears off, once the league's defensive brain trusts have enough game film to study it, they should be able to shut down the run component. Also, Tebow has yet to prove he can win a game playing like a conventional NFL passer. There's also the danger of exposing a running quarterback to frequent collisions with NFL-caliber safeties, who run like deer and deliver hits like compact SUVs. That last thought may have crossed Fox's mind." The AP Writer goes to say Tebow confounded everyone by successfully throwing a SIMPLE SLANT. The "SIMPLE SLANT" is his description of the 80 yard Game-Ending Touchdown! This is AFTER the Steelers game! "Just as the Broncos had on 21 of 22 previous first-down attempts, they came out in a run formation and put a wide receiver in motion. And just as they had on all the previous attempts, Polamalu and Mundy started sneaking up to the line. And then Tebow confounded everyone but his own coaches -- at least this once -- by standing in the pocket and throwing a simple slant -- the way every other starter and backup in the NFL has to do just to survive training camp. Jim Litke / AP is the author. . http://www.wisconsinrapidstribune.com/usatoday/article/38304333?odyssey=mod%7Cnewswell%7Ctext%7CWRT-Sports%7Cs . Edited by Mason, Jan 9 2012, 09:51 PM.

Well, duh!! After four quarters of running on first downs, a "simple slant" is THE only play that is quick out of the pocket and in the middle of the field were the linebackers were fooled. They did not want to cross without an angle to avoid the linebackers crowding the line. The pass was completed ...the end. Somebody on Hannity tonight - commercial in AU/LSU game - said Tebow is subjected to something like 'the ninth degree of liberal sports media he!!'. |

It wasn't a traditional slant. It was a play action pass which takes longer than a slant.Slants are thrown off a 3 step drop. It is in between a slant & a post pattern. Apparently it was a called specific play. They caught the Steelers forcing the run.. Tebow threw a beautiful pass. It took real skill to hit Demaryius Thomas in full stride, who used a great stiff arm to take it the distance. It takes a jerk to minimize that play.. Edited by Baldo, Jan 9 2012, 11:57 PM.
