They are going Repub because they misunderstand Barry's policies regarding Israel, and they want to keep their money...

“I think Jewish voters will be Democratic and be for Obama in 2012, especially if you get a Republican candidate like [Texas] Gov. [Rick] Perry,” he said. “But there’s no question the Jewish community is much more bipartisan than it has been in previous years. There are Jews who are trending toward the Republican Party, some of it because of their misunderstanding of Obama’s policies in the Middle East, and some of it, quite frankly, for economic reasons. They feel they want to protect their wealth, which is why a lot of well-off voters vote for Republicans.”

“The Republicans want us to repeal the 20th century, the New Deal, the Fair Deal, to turn us back to the robber barons running the country, and to eviscerate the environmental and other regulations to protect public health and safety, and to cut spending in ways that would be very harmful to people who rely on government.”

The ability to handle reality is sadly lacking in politics. Democratic Politicians like Waxman are either too hung up in their ideology or they just lie. If he actually believes what he is saying Nov 5, 2012 is going to be quite a surprise.

"...some of it because of their misunderstanding of Obama’s policies in the Middle East"

Waxman should let all of us in on the secret plan!

The best case scenario is that there is a secret plan working behind the curtain to place allies in command of new democracies throughout all the nations there Obama is cheering for the protesting crowds in.

Success like that is not looking like the obvious result we'll see. The only alternative I see that may be a plan is to have Israel drop the bombs on all that want to kill them. One that would disrupt the world's energy supplies, while we're holding off on tapping our own resources.

As for crying wolf about some idea "to repeal the 20th century, the New Deal, the Fair Deal, to turn us back to the robber barons", that scare tactic looks like a good reason NOT to trust what Obama's plan for the Middle East might be ...that "misunderstanding" of the plan by both the Jews and myself.

I do not exempt the financial-services industry for contributing to this problem.. In order to flatter itself as well as clients, the industry has for years, now, been puffing itself out as “wealth managers.”. Even middle-class folks with barely sufficient assets to support their retirement needs are romanced with talk of the various “wealth management” tools that will be brought to bear on their modest accounts.

In the good old days the industry got along talking to clients about their “investable net worth.”. But “net worth” just doesn’t cut it anymore when so many of us carry cell phones and can’t imagine how the world can prosper if we’re not “reachable” every minute of every day.

Vanity still goes a long way in explaining the foibles of our civilization.

Since when did it become a sin to want to protect your wealth, whether you are Jewish or not? The opposite of that is to NOT want to protect your wealth. To squander your wealth. To be ashamed of your wealth. If Waxman thinks wealth ( however he defines that) is bad, he should return all his money to the government so it can be used however Waxman thinks is more honorable than the private citizen earning, managing, and protecting his wealth.

Danged right I want to protect my "wealth" Why wouldn't I?

One of the best posts I've witnessed from DP '04. To the point, explains the problem!

All we need now are rules to rid us of those damned tort problems! :SarC:
