. According to what I've heard on the radio, Obama came to North Carolina and stated four bridges right here in River City are rated as needing to be replaced immediately, and the take away was there are unsafe Bridges right in the area that emperil your safetly. According to the Radio program, again, someone that works in Bridges in North Carolina said the the first bridge listed (ostensibly the first of the four with that rating) has been fully funded for replacement before Obama became President. The hold-up is local municipalities and conservation groups have it held up in the course and regulatory agencies. The Bridge is on the coast and it's 3.5 miles long, environmentalists have proposed the new bridge to be 17 miles long as to go around a kelp bed and areas they say would be harmed. So, without going any further than exhibit 1, we see that funding is not holding up a new bridge, but environmental groups, in-fighting, regulatory fine print and opposition. Obama knows this - the money would not go to bridges and roads any more than it did the first go-round that almost hit a Trillion. . Edited by Mason, Sep 15 2011, 03:09 PM.

How long does it take to build a bridge anyway? Not long. So any jobs added will soon be subtracted. |
