Obama is explaining his silence in the face of profane threats by his partner and opening act, cleared by the WH, by saying, via his Press Secretary -- he didn't hear the comments by Hoffa.

The Rev. Wright defense. If BHO didn't hear it, it didn't happen, evidently.

Think of implications here - a President could say he didn't see an attack by his Armed Forces (therefore he is free of criticism and responsibility for their actions).

Gov't whistle blowers can undergo obvious public character assasination - and the President can enjoy immunity by saying -- he didn't hear, nor see it.

Notice no one is even asking about Joe Biden, whose comments - and tenor - seemed coordinated.

FLASHBACK:
Quote:

"...As we discuss these issues, let each of us do so with a good dose of humility," the president said. "Rather than pointing fingers or assigning blame, let's use this occasion to expand our moral imaginations, to listen to each other more carefully... and remind ourselves of all the ways our hopes and dreams are bound together...."
