Maybe Hoffa's Union Thug Army should march on Democratic Illinois: "Gov. Pat Quinn plans to issue layoff notices to thousands of state workers this week as he deals with a budget shortfall he pegs in the hundreds of millions of dollars, a state government source with knowledge of the situation told the Tribune. The governor also intends to announce the closing of several state facilities, including a prison, juvenile detention center and homes for the mentally ill and developmentally disabled, sources confirmed. Without action, Quinn's budget office says, several agencies would run out of money by the spring. Quinn is responding to the Democratic-controlled Legislature's decision at the end of May to dictate this year's budget with little input from his office. The Democratic governor maintains that lawmakers didn't provide enough money to keep the state operating for a full year. Quinn, who asked for $2.2 billion more, already has made partial vetoes to the budget and blocked raises for thousands of state workers, a decision that's being challenged in court by the state's largest government employee union. The union also is expected to fight the pink slips, citing a no-layoff agreement it struck with Quinn last year. The governor's impending moves may explain why a Democrat who runs a large, reliably Democratic state made no public appearances over Labor Day weekend — a time when organized labor seeks to rally its troops heading into a critical election year for the White House, Congress and the Legislature. more here http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-met-pat-quinn-illinois-budget-20110906,0,779655.story |

Gingrich: Obama Should Learn That Bad Government Ruined Detroit Tuesday, September 06, 2011 By Susan Jones (CNSNews.com) - At a GOP candidates' forum in South Carolina on Monday, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said it's too bad President Obama went to Detroit to speak, when he should have listened and learned from Detroit's sad example. "It's tragic that President Obama cannot learn that class warfare and bureaucratic socialism kill jobs," Gingrich said. "And it's sad that he went to Detroit -- the perfect symbolic place to go -- if he'd gone there to listen. Detroit in 1950 had 1,800,000 people and the highest per-capita income in the United States. Bad government has destroyed the city of Detroit. They now have fewer than 800,000 people, over half their housing stock is unneeded, and they're 67th in per-capita income. It would be wonderful if the president had gone there to learn that really bad government policies can do to America what really bad government policies have done (to Detroit)." snip |

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/09/06/tea-party-groups-condemn-hoffa-sob-remark/ Hoffa Stands by 'S.O.B.' Remark Amid Tea Party Outcry Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa vowed on Tuesday that he will "never apologize" for standing up for American workers, even in the face of considerable criticism for a Labor Day speech in which he targeted Tea Party politicians and urged supporters to "take these son-of-a-bitches out." In a defiant statement, Hoffa said corporate-backed conservatives have started a "war" that is destroying the middle class and that he was merely putting voice to that frustration. He said his comments have been misconstrued to suggest he was inciting violence, but said he was merely calling for Tea Party politicians to be voted out in 2012. snip.... ADDED: We all knew that he was going to say that Basically his words were taken out of context. Edited by Kerri P., Sep 6 2011, 04:38 PM.

Illinois is in terrible financial condition. We have looked at it over the last few years. In particularly the pension funds are underfunded and the State can't pay their bills. The best thing that happened to them was losing the Olympic Bid for Chicago. Remember that blow to Obama's hometown? |

How many times do you have to watch "The Godfather" to know the meaning of the words "take these son of a bitches out"? Now Hoffa tells me he meant at the polls, if he meant that why didn't he say that. IMHO, this was a purposeful call from a union thug to violence against any American who is a tea party supporter, if anyone needs to be taken out it is Hoffa, by Obama demanding he resigning. |

. Where is the Press, I mean even for them this is over the top. Obama: I'm not afraid of Tough Times I guess not when you watching them from exclusive Hawaiian Estates and Martha's Vineyard. Homes are going for a $1 in Detroit and Obama tells the crowd that -- HE'S not afraid of tough times. The guy has never even held a real job. . |

I don't understand: Sarah Palin gets blamed for a wacko shooting at Rep. Giffords, because she "targeted" certain Dems who she was hoping to help vote out of office AND she is absolutely crucified by the media and liberal Dems. But Hoffa can use this kind of inflammatory language, inciting the union thugs, and the press says nothing? the Dems say nothing? I thought the press had decided that this kind of language was not to be used anymore in political campaigns. Where's the uproar by the press? |
