Here's a poll that was taken after Hoffa made his rant. Most of the people voting say they think he went to far with his rant.

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/09/06/did-teamsters-president-jimmy-hoffa-go-too-far/
Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa is under fire for his harsh words about the Tea Party. Hoffa told a crowd in Detroit that America faced "a war on workers, you see it everywhere -- it is the Tea Party," and urged the crowd to "take these son-of-a-bitches out." Hoffa made the comments while introducing President Obama. Did Hoffa cross the line with his heated rhetoric?

No. Sometimes you have to use strong language to get your message out. 2.77% (394 votes)

I'm not sure. I know people are fired up but is calling people "terrorists" or cursing ever appropriate? 2.61% (371 votes)

Yes. President Obama should ask Hoffa to apologize. 92.06% (13,102 votes)

Other. (post a comment) 2.57% (366 votes)

Total Votes: 14,232

This leads to a link with more Quotes from Wasserman, where she was questioned on Hoffa's remarks;

After Carlson prompted several times for a specific response to Hoffa’s shot at the tea party, Wasserman Schultz asked the host “are you kidding me?”

“Really Gretchen? How many times have you called out coarse language at tea party rallies? Almost never,” she said
.

Why do they not just challenge her directly on such a claim?

I'd anticipate it would just lead to her avoiding another question, which is what she did regarding the questions on Hoffa's Tea Party remarks ...or open the conversation to a comparison between Hoffa and the Tea Party "coarse language" ...and we always have BiteIt to fall back on in a debate like that!

My column today sheds light on the longstanding bromance between Barack Obama and the Teamsters. I especially want you to have all this information handy when Obama complains on Thursday about all the infrastructure that’s still not getting built despite the $230 billion in porkulus money set aside for construction projects.

I’ve been reporting for more than a year about how Big Labor will benefit from Obama’s new government infrastructure bank/public construction slush funds — and how feckless U.S. Chamber of Commerce officials in Washington are going along with the union-exclusive project labor agreements that punish taxpayers, employers, and non-union workers. Pay special attention to those goodies in Obama’s jobs speech. The jackals at Teamsters headquarters in D.C. can’t wait to tear up more of your tax dollars on government projects doled out by the crony-in-chief.

As usual, Jimmy Hoffa Jr.’s Tea Party-bashing is a calculated distraction from his festering ethics problems and internal Teamsters strife. According to the FBI via the Center for Union Facts, four of the last eight Teamsters presidents have been criminally indicted and since FY 2001, racketeering investigations have yielded more than 2,000 indictments and awarded more than $3 billion in fines and restitution. In past union elections, Hoffa’s team was caught laundering union funds for electioneering and for campaign polling on dues-payers’ dime. Hoffa now faces a new challenge to his union presidency from his own far Left flank this fall. Make sure to read about the latest election corruption he’s embroiled in below.

Barry and Jimmy: Birds of a feather.

Barack Obama and Jimmy Hoffa are like Tweedledum and Tweedledee, Lady Gaga and hype, the “Jersey Shore” cast and hairspray: inseparable. The president can no more disown the Teamsters Union’s leader than he can disown his own id.

At a Labor Day rally in Detroit on Monday before Obama spoke, Hoffa stoked anti-tea party hostility by urging his minions to “take these son of a b*tches out.” (Botched grammar added that extra boost of street-gang authenticity to the labor lawyer’s threat.) The same civility police on the left who decry any references to crosshairs as incitements to violence are now mute about Hoffa’s brass-knuckle rhetoric. The Chicagoans in the White House refuse to comment.

Those calling on Obama to condemn Hoffa’s uncivil tone are deluding themselves. The 1.4 million-member Teamsters lifted Obama to power with a coveted endorsement and bottomless campaign coffers funded with coerced member dues. Over the past two decades, the union has donated nearly $25 million to Democrats (compared to $1.8 million for Republicans).

What quid pro quo protection has the Teamsters’ money bought? Let us count the ways.

Calling off Teamsters corruption investigations. Back in May 2008, as he jockeyed with rival Hillary Clinton for Big Labor support, Obama promised to end longstanding federal probes into the Teamsters’ mob racket. In 1989, the union was facing federal racketeering charges after Justice Department officials determined it was operating as a “wholly owned subsidiary of organized crime.” The Wall Street Journal reported that Obama phoned several Teamsters heavies to convey his vow to begin dismantling the independent federal watchdog overseeing the Teamsters; an Obama spokesman confirmed it.

Teamsters reformers now consider the review board a “toothless mechanism,” according to a recent article in the left-wing The Nation magazine. As one Hoffa critic put it, “You’re so tied up into a corrupt culture. You have this culture of protecting each other.”

Meanwhile, a federal court has determined that Hoffa and his goons raided the Teamsters treasury to try to buy his own re-election support with jobs and pensions. As a court-appointed watchdog determined this spring: “The conduct revealed in this investigation reflects a culture, or mind-set where elected union officials do not clearly distinguish between their fiduciary responsibilities to the union and their separate political objectives of achieving election.”

Nevertheless, Obama’s crime-fighting crusaders are far more preoccupied with cracking down on Gibson guitars made of rare wood and covering up the Operation Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal than with cleaning up the Teamsters’ graft and pay-for-play dirty business.

The Cadillac health plan exemption. While he regularly lambastes “millionaires and billionaires” who benefit from tax loopholes, Obama has zero to say about the crony Cadillac health insurance tax exemption he doled out to the Teamsters and other Big Labor groups. In January 2010, Hoffa and his pals met behind closed doors at the White House to ensure that they would be shielded while other middle-class Americans were forced to bear the burden.

Obamacare waivers for the brotherhood.
While he calls for shared sacrifice, Obama has zero to say about the exclusive Obamacare waivers he has awarded to Teamsters chapters, including:

– the Western Teamsters Welfare Trust in Seattle

– the Teamsters and Employers Welfare Trust of Illinois in Springfield

– the Teamsters Local 485 Health and Welfare Fund in Brooklyn, N.Y.

– the Teamsters Local 617 Welfare Fund in Ridgefield, N.J.

– the Teamsters Local 734 Welfare Fund in Chicago.

No comment on obscene Big Labor salaries. While he regularly lambastes Wall Street salaries, Obama has zero to say about the bloated salaries and benefits of Teamsters brass (pdf). According to internal data compiled by Teamsters for a Democratic Union, 120 top Teamsters officials made more than $150,000 in 2009 — the largest number ever. Forty made more than $200,000 — also an unprecedented number. Hoffa pulls down nearly $400,000 a year, including an exclusive housing allowance and cost of living raise.

Shutting out non-union competition for public contracts. While he rails against “special interests,” Obama has zero to say about the executive orders he signed in the first days of his presidency to give unions a leg up. Executive Order 13502, for example, essentially forces contractors who bid on large-scale public construction projects worth $25 million or more to surrender to union representation for its employees. This codification of so-called project labor agreements significantly raises the cost of highway and school construction projects (by as much as 15 percent among California public schools, according to a new study by the National University System Institute for Policy Research).

The Obama protection order shuts out the vast majority of contractors in America. As I’ve noted before, 85 percent of the construction industry workforce is nonunion by choice.

Instead of putting Americans to work, the Teamsters have been busy yanking members off projects and idling construction projects from California and Nevada to Indiana to New York in order to shake down employers.

Now, you tell me: Who’s waging “war on workers”?

That's the Truth.

I read a story yesterday where a NYC Sewer worker made $173k in Overtime pay alone last year.

That is just his O/T.

The Obama protection order shuts out the vast majority of contractors in America. As I’ve noted before, 85 percent of the construction industry workforce is nonunion by choice.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 13502

USE OF PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENTS FOR FEDERAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act, 40 U.S.C. 101 et seq., and in order to promote the efficient administration and completion of Federal construction projects, it is hereby ordered that:

I hate to dampen the message on the BS involved with the WH & Union relationship, but this Order is not what a reader could be led to believe it is.

The majority of the 'infrastructure' funds spent are handled through state and local contracts, which is NOT subject to this Order. That Order applies to Federal construction projects.

The projects which have federal funds in them, whether those funds pay for all or only a part of a projects cost, are subject to the Davis/Bacon Act, which is wage guidelines.

All studies that come up with some amazing percentage that could be saved if "Unions" were not involved is inaccurate. A union does not have to be involved, that is STATE LAW. So the percentage of savings cited is directly out of the pockets of workers involved, by the studies estimating how much less they can get workers to do a job for ...lower wages for workers.

The types of projects that Order is set to control would be something like construction on buildings the federal government owns or is having built. I'd suspect that the Order might even conflict with state laws for projects in Right-To-Work states, but am uncertain of that. I suppose an Owner can contract union only agreements.

I do NOT agree with what Unions do in the area of politics, nor how they are run the unions ...including the pension and healthcare programs. As for the wages, it is fair for the majority and allows them to earn a living they can survive on. Those that abuse it, or special terms that go beyond providing a fair wage, are not good and owners shouldn't agree to such terms.

Quote:

City sewer engineer paid $775k in 2010, more than any NYC employee; thousands of workers get backpay

snip

Senior engineer Gerald Mistretta's pay was $771,841 - and six of his co-workers raked in nearly as much - thanks to a wage settlement with the city.

His bottom line for the fiscal year that ended in June included a base salary of $109,850 a year, $173,000 in overtime - and nearly half a million dollars in back pay.

snip

Mistretta and other sewer workers labored without a contract since 1995 because of a dispute over their base salaries. A deal struck in 2009 after years of litigation gave them retroactive hikes.

Six other senior Department of Environmental Protection workers made more than $700,000; 13 made in the $600,000 range, and 47 earned in the $400,000 or $500,000 range.

snip

He, as the senior engineer, has "a base salary of $109,850" and the $173k is for 16 years of overtime.

Obama to propose $300 billion jobs package: reports

(Reuters) - President Barack Obama, facing waning confidence among Americans in his economic stewardship, plans some $300 billion in tax cuts and government spending as part of a job-creating package, U.S. media reported on Tuesday.

The price tag of the proposed package, to be announced by Obama in a nationally televised speech to Congress on Thursday, would be offset by other cuts that the president would outline, CNN reported, citing Democratic sources....snipped

...Obama would offset those short-term costs by calling on Congress to raise tax revenues in a deficit-cutting proposal he will lay out next week, the news agency reported, without citing sources....snipped

Let's see,but I suppose it will be Tax & Spend.

We don't need to spend one cent more. WE need to stop wasting our borrowed money.

I am sure that any new spending will go directly into his supporters for his reelection Campaign.

So I will venture a guess this is really a

300 Billion Obama Reelection Stimulus Bill!

I posted this on another thread.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/09/07/republicans-opt-not-to-give-rebuttal-to-obama-speech-ticking-off-pelosi/
Pelosi Peeved Republicans Opt Out of Rebuttal to Obama Speech
Published September 07, 2011

Republicans have decided they're not going to give a rebuttal to President Obama's jobs speech later this week, a decision House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi took as a high affront to the White House.

At least three GOP lawmakers also have announced they're not going to show up for the presidential address. House Speaker John Boehner's office then confirmed Tuesday evening that nobody from the party would deliver an official televised response.

Pelosi said the party's "silence" would "speak volumes about their lack of commitment to creating jobs."

"The Republicans' refusal to respond to the president's proposal on jobs is not only disrespectful to him, but to the American people," Pelosi said.

But Boehner spokesman Mike Steel said Obama's proposals on Thursday "will rise or fall on their own merits," suggesting a GOP response was not needed.

"Republicans are, and have been, entirely focused on job creation. Every member of Congress, and -- more importantly -- the American people, will provide a reaction to the president's address," Steel said.

Some members of Congress, though, won't be there when Obama delivers his address to a Joint Session of Congress.

Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said in an interview with ABC News that he's so "frustrated" he doesn't think he'll attend. Rep. Joe Walsh, R-Ill., also said he'd skip, writing on his Twitter page that he has no interest in being a "prop" for Obama's speech. Rep. Paul Broun, R-Ga., reportedly will not attend either.

Dana Perino, former press secretary for George W. Bush, said the lawmakers should attend the session because "you're an elected leader, and it's quite a privilege to be able to be there."

As for a GOP rebuttal, Perino said there is a downside to it in that it always makes the opposition look small in comparison to the president.

So we'll have:

- $300 billion more spending

- New spending cuts

- $1.4 trillion cut by "committee" or Obama

- Tax increase when Bush cuts expire

- Some other "raise tax revenues" plan from Obama to Congress

...all in .plans. speeches shared with the public over a two week period ....because it would be too much to provide in a single .plan. speech?

If you shake it on ice well it should be easy to swallow!
