Sending private messages to a 17 year old is inappropriate no matter what Weiner said on the message. The 17 year old was infatuated with him and someday would be 18 years old and no longer underage. There is no way he should be carrying on any kind of private messaging with a 17 year old. |

Damn, that's pretty good investigative reporting, if true. Imagine what they could learn and report if they wanted to know who killed Jack Wheeler? (Sorry. OT, I know. A very pressing issue in my book.) |

I suspect the speaker. However, he can just be absent as long as he wants to be. He can't be "fired" like civilians. He can be reprimanded, censured, or expelled. That's it. |

WEINER: I have not -- you know, I'm going to try to handle this, and I haven't ruled out perhaps seeing someone. But I'm not blaming anyone. This is not something that can be treated away; this is my own personal mistake. This is not something -- this is a weakness, a deep weakness, that I have demonstrated, and for that I apologize. |

Wow, I wish I could get a job like that, where when I really screw up and maybe even break the law, I can take off on a leave of absence, for whatever time I deem necessary. Then I can come back to work with my same arrogant attitude and stay in my job. I guess this is the kind of world all progressives want us to be. Maybe I will start voting for progressives. The entire episode is based upon the fact that Weiner got caught. Would he have on his own sought treatment for a behavior that he knew inherently was wrong and destructive. The answer is NO! Weiner should be forced from office if the Dems have an ounce of integrity left in the entire party. It should happen no later than Monday morning and they should move guickly to replace him if their credibility means anything to them. His sudden admission that he needs therapy is pure bullshit in my opinion. If he had not been caught, he would be sexting pictures of his private parts with lewd messages as we speak. Get rid of this creep! |

. People are afraid to say this is wrong - before the underage girl news. Just like with the Clinton sexcapades, it opened up the kids, and our society, to more degraded behavior, partly because people and the media didn't want to criticize it. We can't ask that the leaders of the country have some minimal level of honor and decency? Some level of moral behavior? I'm not falling in the trap of saying it's all good with me. . Keep him on the front page for awhile. Next we need to list what all the Democratic members in the House and Senate have done, make a campaign poster out of it. |

Bill Clinton pulled the same stunt by calling in ministers to the oval office for counseling. You see what good that did him. Rumors still fly about his womanizing. |

Pretty bold move on his part. It seems he wasn't afraid of getting caught. |
