People are pointing out that there really are no pre June 1967 borders of Israel to return to.

There's really no such thing. Israel had no defined borders then.

The Green Line was simply a temporary thing when the fighting stopped in 48-49.

There was no defined Israel with proper borders until after Israel kicked ass in 1967 and took control of itself.

Obama's request about returning to "pre (June)1967" borders makes no sense.

absolutely LTC. Obama is either ignorant about the 1967 war or wants Israel to go away.

Let's recall why there was an 1967 War. Egypt, Jordan, and Syria were amassing troops to attack Israel. Instead of waiting, Israel launched a surprise attack and captured the West Bank, Gaza, Golan Heights, and the Sinai.

The point is the 1967 borders were not peaceful. What an idiot Obama is, just kowtowing to the Islamic world. No way will Israel give up Jerusalem, nor the Golan Heights, nor their security wall.

He is siding with Islam, pure & simple.

If he wanted Israel's borders to be the Green Line, he should have said so.

I haven't seen or read the whole speech, but I'm guessing that his handlers would not allow him to mention the Green Line...

Congressman Allen West Response to President Barack Obama’s Call for a Two State Solution in Israel

Quote:

(WASHINGTON) — Congressman Allen West (FL-22) released this statement today:

“Today’s endorsement by President Barack Obama of the creation of a Hamas-led Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, signals the most egregious foreign policy decision his administration has made to date, and could be the beginning of the end as we know it for the Jewish state.

From the moment the modern day state of Israel declared statehood in 1948, to the end of the 1967 Six Day War, Jews were forbidden access to their holiest site, the Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City, controlled by Jordan’s Arab army.

The pre-1967 borders endorsed by President Obama would deny millions of the world’s Jews access to their holiest site and force Israel to return the strategically important Golan Heights to Syria, a known state-sponsor of terrorism.

Resorting to the pre-1967 borders would mean a full withdrawal by the Israelis from the West Bank and the Jewish neighborhoods of East Jerusalem. Make no mistake, there has always been a Nation of Israel and Jerusalem has been and must always be recognized as its rightful capital.

In short, the Hamas-run Palestinian state envisioned by President Obama would be devastating to Israel and the world’s 13.3 million Jews. It would be a Pavlovian style reward to a declared Islamic terrorist organization, and an unacceptable policy initiative.

America should never negotiate with the Palestinian Authority- which has aligned itself with Hamas. Palestine is a region, not a people or a modern state. Based upon Roman Emperor Hadrian’s declaration in 73 AD, the original Palestinian people are the Jewish people.

It’s time for the American people to stand by our strongest ally, the Jewish State of Israel, and reject this foreign policy blunder of epic proportions.

While the winds of democracy may blow strong in the Middle East, history has demonstrated that gaps in leadership can lead to despotic regimes. I have questions for President Obama: ‘Who will now lead in Egypt?’ and ‘Why should American taxpayers provide foreign aid to a nation where the next chapter in their history may be the emergence of another radical Islamic state?’

President Obama has not stood for Israel or the Jewish people and has made it clear where the United States will stand when Palestine attempts to gain recognition of statehood by the United Nations. The President should focus on the real obstacle to security- the Palestinian leadership and its ultimate goal to eliminate Israel and the Jewish people.”

I anticipate the House will pass some trivial proposal to provide support for Israel, with a general statement about security that relates to borders, solely in an effort to force a Senate vote that puts the Democrats on record.

I agree with Congressman West, Obama is nothing more then a trouble maker. Zero leans more towards Rev Wright and louis farrakhan and the Muslim nation. This POTUS is a Muslin at heart IMHO, he wants to see the destruction of Isreal and the surrender of the west to the Islamic faith and Shiria Law. For Zero the Constitution is the only thing that stands in his way and that is what the hopey changey thing is all about. The man may be smart, but everyone around him and he himself are socialist, marxist islamist believers. I certainly hope that I am dead and buried before Zero's plans come into effect, I feel sorry for my daughter, that is clueless to what is going on

Trump, on Sean Hannity's program, regarding how bad Obama is for Israel:

“Terrible for Israel. ...I don't understand. I have so many Jewish friends that are big Obama fans. And they are supporting Obama and giving tremendous amounts”

Great I hope they keep giving to Obama and let Obama complete what Hitler didn't do. We are next? Anyone in the Jewish community that supports Zero are fools or wishing for death.

Mahmoud Abbas is the chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the president of the Palestinian National Authority.

Who is serving beyond his term of office(Jan 2009) by decree because he would lose if elections were held to Hamas. How's that for Democracy Obama? Whereas Israel has real elections!

Abbas forgets to mention, so did Obama, that there was no Palestine in 1967. The West Bank was part of Jordan.

What selected memories! I don't know if Obama knows that having most probably been brought up on Marxist Political History. I doubt he cares and I really wonder if he really cares Israel is overrun

Go to the 1:00 mark, where ABC's good ol' Jake tells us it's no big deal, the '67 lines are where negotiations always start from!

(of course he doesn't mention any names saying that, it's a secret they all keep to themselves!!)

ADD: That should have been CONDITIONS instead of "names".

67And Jordon didn't want to accept the Palestine residents in 1967, Obama is a radical Muslim that has a good voice. Apparently people voted for someone who is a good speaker and not a good thinker or a good thinker that want's to destroy Isreal and America. IMO, he is doing a good job at both. Got to goand watch the MENTALIST.

Netanyahu should not meet with Obama. He should come and speak to Congress, and thank the American people for being an ally, and then leave.
