I am not at all certain that this girl was "transgender" as reported by a comment on a blog. In the video, her hair is definitely long, curly and her body looks to be slight as in a very slim female. If they pulled off a wig, then it does not show up in any of the video. Obviously, if it is true that he looked like a male in a female bathroom, does that give people the right to take matters into their own hands? I hope the facts are brought out quickly by the police to shut down the rumor mill that seems to be attempting to make cover for the bulls that attacked this victim. By the way, the perps are 14 and 18. Have you ever seen girls this age look so obese? Government food stamps must be buying a lot of sugar and fats.
in the article from The Smoking Gun:

"Police have identified the assault victim as a 22 year old woman 'who appeared to be having a seizure' when officers arrived at the McDonald's at around 8 p.m."

That was a brave lady who tried to rescue the girl, but it's dangerous. In England, a man was shot dead.

Were there any human beings present at all...

Who can watch that and do nothing, and then watch them come back and let them start again...

I can't wait for the defense stories...both of the perps and the "bystanders"...

The police report (pdf) from the Baltimore County Police Department:

http://www.baltimoresun.com/media/acrobat/2011-04/61087659.pdf

Two interesting points:

1. The woman who came to the victims’ aid was punched in the face. Officer Coscia reported, “I observed Victim <redacted> to have redness around her right eye which is consistent with someone punching her in the face.”

2. One of the perps told another individual that she and the other perpetrator had assaulted a “woman” at the McDonalds. Fortunately, the witness notified police which led to the apprehension of the two suspects.

Victim in Md. McDonald's attack alleges hate crime
Posted: 6:49 p.m. yesterday
Updated: 10:43 p.m. yesterday

ROSEDALE, Md. — A transgender woman whose brutal attack at a McDonald's restaurant in Maryland was captured on video that later went viral said Saturday she was the victim of a hate crime.

Twenty-two-year-old Chrissy Lee Polis told The Baltimore Sun that since the attack last Monday, "I'm just afraid to go outside now because of stuff like this."

The video posted online shows a woman being attacked and apparently having a seizure. Baltimore County police say a 14-year-old girl has been charged as a juvenile and an 18-year-old woman faces an assault charge in the case.

Polis told the newspaper that after she used the restroom, "They said, 'That's a dude, that's a dude and she's in the female bathroom.'"

Polis said she was confronted by a girl who spat in her face and accused Polis of talking to "my man." Polis said another girl then also spat on her face, and that they then beat and kicked her, pulled her by the hair and tore off her earrings.

"They really hurt me really bad," Polis said in a videotaped interview that was posted on the newspaper's website.

All the while, she said, a McDonald's employees recorded the attack on his cell phone even though she told him to stop. She said her injuries would certainly have been worse had an older female customer not assisted her.

"They just seemed like they wanted to pick a fight that night," Polis said.

Lt. Robert McCullough, a spokesman for the Baltimore County police, told The Associated Press on Saturday evening that police are working with the state's attorney's office to determine whether other charges should be brought and whether anyone else should face charges.

"I'm sure our investigators will be doing additional follow-up, speaking with the victim in this case," McCullough said.

Asked about Polis' allegation that she was a hate crime victim, McCullough said investigators would certainly look into such claims.

"Generally when it comes to cases that involve racial, religious, ethnic or sexual orientation from an investigative standpoint, we approach the case from the perspective of the victim," he said.

Earlier Saturday, the McDonald's franchise owner said he was reviewing the response of his employees.

Franchise owner Mitchell McPherson said in a statement that he was shocked by the beating inside the Rosedale restaurant. The company also condemned the beating. McPherson said the employee who took the video and appeared to alert the assailants that police were on the way "is no longer employed with my organization." Other workers may also be disciplined.

Equality Maryland has called for the attack to be investigated as a hate crime, according to The Sun, and Polis' twin brother said it's painful to watch his sister face such abuse.

"My sister has gotten this her entire life," Matty Polis said. "Being the way she is, she's always had a hard time."

Is it a "hate crime" if the motivation was a result of bias against a "transgender"??????

The drama of this event has expanded quite a bit. What color T-shirts will we see in the protests?

Any attack on someone (no matter the race, color, creed, or sexuality) is wrong. What bothers me is the designation of a crime as a hate crime - as if that makes it somewhat worse and should then receive special attention. An unprovoked attack is wrong - pure and simple.

It's funny how this incident occurs as a transgender bill (sometimes called the "Bathroom Bill") is being considered in a state legislature.

http://www.courant.com/news/opinion/hc-op-wolfgang-transgender-bill-0424-20110424,0,5733641.story

"The "Transgender Bill" passed by the Judiciary Committee on April 5 is headed for a vote in the House of Representatives. The "Bathroom Bill," as the Family lnstitute of Connecticut calls it, would extend our sexual discrimination laws to people who disagree with the gender they had at birth and would allow them access to places where they would make other people uncomfortable or worse.

The bill does not contain common sense provisions prohibiting transgender persons from using women's bathrooms, locker rooms and public showers. As a woman and a mother, I am deeply concerned about the casualness with which these questions were dismissed by the majority of the Judiciary Committee. I'm afraid they were more interested in appearing progressive to their transgender supporters than considering the simple concerns of their constituents. I'll outline just two of these concerns.

Unlike homosexuals, many transgendered men are sexually attracted to women. They express their gender identity in a skirt while, at the same time, they are attracted to, date and marry women. This is very worrisome to me when it comes to women's bathrooms — a place transgendered persons most desperately want to go.

What seems to be lost on legislators supporting this bill, however, is that the women of Connecticut have expectations too — particularly an expectation of privacy in public bathrooms and showers for ourselves and our daughters. This bill would permit men, sexually attracted to women and disguised as women, to use women's public restrooms and showers. If a woman objects, she is the one who will be asked to leave. She is the bigot under this proposed law. This is an absurdity and a violation of common sense.

Another concern is for Connecticut's parents with school age children. One problem with the proposed law is its lack of objectivity. Gender expression can take many forms and is based solely on how the person desires to express themselves. One expression is a heterosexual man who chooses to dress as a woman or as a woman and a man at the same time — not temporarily or as part of a transitional period, but as a permanent expression of self. This expression can be a pencil mustache with a pencil skirt or crew-cut with cashmere. With advancements in hormone therapy, gender expression can and does include men with breasts and a beard. The proposed law would prevent school boards and parents from using their discretion to prevent bearded ladies from teaching in classrooms, working as mentors, pre-school instructors, any job across the state.

To some, such as Jeanne Milstein, Connecticut's Child Advocate, who testified in favor of the bill, this is no reason for concern. But consider that this expression does not just include a transvestite who takes particular care to appear female, but includes men who choose to express their gender with stubble and stilettos, permanently, with little or no effort to conform to either gender, adopting various attributes as desired.

Lost on the committee is the desire of Connecticut's parents to provide a sexually and socially stable environment for their children to learn and grow. Should we be allowed no standards? I understand a person's desire to be "who they want to be" — I too grew up on sappy songs like "Free To Be You and Me." But now is not the time to sacrifice common sense at the altar of political correctness. It's time for Connecticut's politicians to acknowledge the desires of Connecticut's parents to discern what's best for their children and themselves, particularly with regard to privacy and parenting."

Getting back to what happened at McDonald's. Could this incident be something of a publicity stunt-- an elaborate one-- to promote the Bathroom Bill and transgender issues, in general? Whoever was taking the video focused on the seizure activity of the victim. It looked like it could have been a real seizure, but I would be interested in the medical evaluation. Any brain injury suffered?

There is a video at this link ( http://gatewaypundit.rightnetwork.com/2011/04/victim-of-brutal-mcdonalds-beating-speaks-out-it-was-a-hate-crime-video/ ) of an interview with the victim after the attack.
it doesn't appear that there was any permanent brain damage.

Where was our POTUS on this incident? This was definately a black on white crime or a trengender crime. Out Whimp in Charge could have come out and condemned this attact, but he didn't. He was too busy out fund raising. Zero is exactly what we thought, an EMPTY SUIT. He condemned a police sergeant to protect a friend. No one deserves to be attacked like that, for any reason. Zero should have come out and condemned that attact and callled on the AA community, to have some tolerance, but this empty suit didn't do a thing. Zero is proving one thing, he is not the POTUS, he is the POTUS of the AA community. The AA community depends on Zero's stash to suppot them. Just listen to this caller stating that she is getting welfare, "From Obama's Stash".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jg0pDPK56Ys

The worst part is there are many in the AA community that are real good people, but Zero doesn't suppot them, he support keeping them on welfare.

In Chrissy Polis' talk about the attack, she said that the assault started when one of the attackers thought she was trying to take her boyfriend away from her. If that's the case, then the transgender issue doesn't seem to be the reason for the assault. This explanation is different than what the person who filmed the attack said which was a man, Polis, was in the women's bathroom.

Polis also said she felt that a seizure was about to happen before it did which apparently means she had a pre-existing seizure disorder.

Polis doesn't seem particularly traumatized by this incident.

Possible publicity stunt?
