A question for the legal beagles.....do you think that Crystal's attorney will try to have the case moved to a different jurisdiction?

If this man's family reads here by chance, I hope they find support and help as they mount a prosecution against Crystal. I wouldn't trust the DA's office in Durham. I would hire my own prosecutor, if possible.

Crystal Mangum, of many enablers, will be charged with Murder as the Durham D.A.'s office scrambles to add her 2010 convictions to her record.

I hope Mr. Daye's family reads here. They need to weight their options.

Judge Abe Jones, Tracey Cline, etc.

The Crystal Mangum was allowed to live out-of-control and by a set of rules that applied only to her.

.
This was not a good "right" I waited a good while before I decided to post it.

My thought and prayers are with his family tonight. Their son was apparently killed by someone he had only known for two weeks.

I keep thinking about the call made to 911 where his cousin stated, he was stabbed by "the Crystal Mangum"

Why didn't Roy Cooper prosecute her? Fear of the community?

How was she sane enough to get a degree at NCCU but not mentally alert enough
to be held responsible for her actions?

The media should ask these questions.

Too bad we can't name co-defendants. NCCU would certainly be on my list. How is it possible that this school is accredited?
I remember Joe Cheshire commenting that they could *NOT* even ascertain
whether she was actually a registered student at NCCU during the Spring
of 2006. And, in Himan's notes from the day of Roy Cooper's press
conference, he wrote that he asked if she thought about going back to school
WHICH would imply she was not taking any courses that semester.

But, exactly one year later she graduates with honors from NCCU?
.
It had to be an honorary degree.

She has trouble speaking english.

.
Oops, and I forgot the word *NOT* when referring to
the defense team's attempt to determine if she was actually
enrolled at NCCU in Spring 2006.

There were so many people that were so HEAVILY invested in the
metanarrative that they did everything they could to make it real,
like NCCU handing her a degree (one of many sickening examples.)

But it wasn't real -- it was all a lie -- and now someone is dead.

If the trend continues, it will be some lesser charge such as manslaughter...

I hope not. I hope for the victim's family that Crystal finally gets what she deserves, a long prison sentence.

I hope that people will finally abandon defending her and start to talk about her truthfully.

DURHAM – The man Crystal Mangum is accused of stabbing has died, Durham Police Department Chief Jose Lopez Sr. said Wednesday.

Mangum already was in jail under a $300,000 secured bond charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

"More than likely, we will be upgrading the charge to murder," Lopez said.

In 2006, Mangum, 32, falsely accused three Duke University lacrosse players of raping her.

On April 3, officers were called to 3507 Century Oaks Drive. When they arrived, they found a 46-year-old man had been stabbed in the torso with a kitchen knife, according to police. He was taken to Duke University Hospital and treated for serious injuries.

The victim, who has not been identified, was said to have been Mangum’s boyfriend.

In December, Mangum was in Durham County Superior Court for an arson trial. Jurors found her guilty of three counts of contributing to the abuse and neglect of minors, causing more than $200 in property damage to the car of the man who was Mangum's boyfriend and resisting a police officer. Those were misdemeanor charges. But jurors did not reach consensus on the major issue, the arson charge -- a felony -- so Superior Court Judge Abraham Jones declared a mistrial. Mangum was sentenced to time already served, 88 days. The Durham County District Attorney's Office decided not to pursue the case further.

Mangum threatened to stab the boyfriend in the arson case, police said.

And that man that made that call is the next target.

They will try to discredit him, now that the only witness is gone.

Let's see if Durham gives him a sparkling' new Safehouse and a chauffeur like Crystal got.

DURHAM, NC (WTVD) -- Sources tell ABC11 Eyewitness News the boyfriend allegedly stabbed by former Duke Lacrosse accuser Crystal Mangum has been taken off of life support.

Reginald Daye, 46, was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment on April 3.

Police say 32-year-old Mangum stabbed Daye in the chest during an argument at the apartment the couple shared in the 3000 block of Century Oaks Drive. Search warrants issued last week say Daye told responding officers Mangum stabbed him and took his money.

She was initially charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Sources say more charges could be filed against her. She remains in jail.

Mangum made national headlines in March 2006, when the then NC Central student and exotic dancer claimed three Duke Lacrosse players sexually assaulted her during a performance at a team party inside a house near Duke's campus.

A year later, Attorney General Roy Cooper exonerated the players saying there was no credible evidence in the case.

Former Durham district attorney Mike Nifong - who pursued the charges against the players - was later disbarred and was accused of withholding DNA evidence that would have cleared them.

Mangum went into hiding, then graduated from NCCU in 2008 with a degree in police psychology. Later that year, she released a memoir, "The Last Dance for Grace: The Crystal Mangum Story".

Then last year, Mangum was arrested and charged with attempted murder, arson and child abuse after a domestic dispute with a man she dated before Daye.

In December, the jury found Mangum guilty of child abuse, but they couldn't agree on a first-degree felony arson charge, which could have landed Mangum in jail for seven years.
WRAL now has a headline on it's website:

Breaking News: The boyfriend of Duke lacrosse accuser Crystal Mangum, whom she allegedly stabbed April 3, has died, his family says.

Duke lacrosse accuser's boyfriend dies after stabbing
Posted: 20 minutes ago

Durham, N.C. — Family members of a man who was stabbed in his home April 3 say he died Wednesday evening. Crystal Mangum, the Durham woman who falsely accused three Duke University lacrosse players of rape in 2006 has been charged with assaulting him.

Durham police could not be reached for comment on whether her charges would be upgraded.

Mangum, 32, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and was being held in the Durham County jail on a $300,000 bond.

Police said Mangum stabbed Reginald Daye, 46, in the torso with a kitchen knife during a dispute at 3507 Century Oaks Drive early on April 3.

Daye was taken to Duke University Hospital, and Mangum was arrested in a nearby apartment.

A man who said he was Daye's nephew called 911 to report the stabbing, saying it occurred while Daye and his girlfriend were arguing about rent money. The caller said police came to the apartment complex earlier while the couple argued, but the stabbing occurred after the officers left.

When asked for a description of the girlfriend, the caller said, "It's Crystal Mangum. THE Crystal Mangum."

He then added, "I told him she was trouble from the beginning."

In March 2006, Mangum claimed three white players on the Duke lacrosse team trapped her inside a bathroom at 610 N. Buchanan Blvd., where she was performing as a stripper at a team party, and raped and sexually assaulted her.

Her story about the incident was so inconsistent that state officials later declared the players innocent, saying there was no credible evidence against them.

Former Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong was later disbarred for withholding DNA evidence from defense attorneys in the case.

The three lacrosse players and some of their former teammates are suing Nifong and a police investigator, claiming their rights were violated during the case.

In February 2010, police arrested Mangum after an altercation between her and a different boyfriend. In that incident, she was accused of assaulting the man in front of her children and setting some of his clothes on fire.

She was later convicted of child abuse, injury to personal property and resisting a public officer in the case, but prosecutors dismissed an arson charge after a jury couldn't reach a verdict.

I am glad to see that the Herald-Sun included in their article that Crystal, in front of Policemen, threatened to Stab Milton. That is about as germane as it gets.

That is her mindset. I think she intended to kill him, period.
