Why didn't Roy Cooper prosecute her? Fear of the community?

How was she sane enough to get a degree at NCCU but not mentally alert enough
to be held responsible for her actions?

The media should ask these questions.

I was suspicious because the media wasn't saying much about his condition, but the relative said he was in bad shape. I thought that was odd and it made me think he might die.

The media should ask these questions.

Fat chance with that. It would involve self examination.

DURHAM, NC (WTVD) -- Sources tell ABC11 Eyewitness News the boyfriend allegedly stabbed by former Duke Lacrosse accuser Crystal Mangum has been taken off of life support.

Reginald Daye, 46, was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment on April 3.

Police say 32-year-old Mangum stabbed Daye in the chest during an argument at the apartment the couple shared in the 3000 block of Century Oaks Drive. Search warrants issued last week say Daye told responding officers Mangum stabbed him and took his money.

She was initially charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Sources say more charges could be filed against her. She remains in jail.

Mangum made national headlines in March 2006, when the then NC Central student and exotic dancer claimed three Duke Lacrosse players sexually assaulted her during a performance at a team party inside a house near Duke's campus.

A year later, Attorney General Roy Cooper exonerated the players saying there was no credible evidence in the case.

Former Durham district attorney Mike Nifong - who pursued the charges against the players - was later disbarred and was accused of withholding DNA evidence that would have cleared them.

Mangum went into hiding, then graduated from NCCU in 2008 with a degree in police psychology. Later that year, she released a memoir, "The Last Dance for Grace: The Crystal Mangum Story".

Then last year, Mangum was arrested and charged with attempted murder, arson and child abuse after a domestic dispute with a man she dated before Daye.

In December, the jury found Mangum guilty of child abuse, but they couldn't agree on a first-degree felony arson charge, which could have landed Mangum in jail for seven years.

What excuses are her lawyers going to offer now? Self defense? Temporary insanity? An unintended accident?

The State needs to investigate Judge Abe Jones.

And investigate how her convictions managed to stay off her record in the (computer) system where everyone else is accountable.

Too bad we can't name co-defendants. NCCU would certainly be on my list. How is it possible that this school is accredited?

This time around the AA community will be conflicted. There will be the usual supporters, but now the victim's family and friends will be standing in solidarity against Crystal. So far, this is a scenario that she has not faced in Durham. It's going to get interesting.

I hope Mr. Daye's family reads here. They need to weight their options.

Judge Abe Jones, Tracey Cline, etc.

The Crystal Mangum was allowed to live out-of-control and by a set of rules that applied only to her.

I remember Joe Cheshire commenting that they could NOT even ascertain
whether she was actually a registered student at NCCU during the Spring
of 2006. And, in Himan's notes from the day of Roy Cooper's press
conference, he wrote that he asked if she thought about going back to school
WHICH would imply she was not taking any courses that semester.

But, exactly one year later she graduates with honors from NCCU?

Read my last post in "Red Flag". Crystal has a friend or friends in high places. My last question, may be the key. I have always said it and I still believe it until proven otherwise, Mayor Bell was knee deep in the frame as much as the other framers.
