I too read somewhere he was stabbed 7 times. Consider this: You're in an argument with your GF, she picks up a knife and stabs you. Do you wait around and let her stab you 6 more times? I do not know Mr. Daye's physical description but I would think any "normal", healthy, 46 y/o man could ellude a 5'2" [sic] woman after getting stabbed the first time unless the first wound incapacitated him. If the first wound did temporarily incapacitate him, then the next 6 she was trying to kill him. In my mind there are 2 other obvious scenarios: The first being he was attacking her and the initial stab wound didn't stop him so she kept stabbing until he stopped attacking. Her lack of obvious injuries flies in the face of this agrument. The second is he was lying down or sleeping or in some other subdued or unaware state that allowed her to stab him 7 times before he could figure out what was going on. It just doesn't make logical sense to me that two people could be having a shouting argument, someone pick up a knife and stab the other seven times before he could get away. I may be jumping the gun a bit and obviously there's more to the story than what we've read so far, but the current one just does not compute. Not in a good way for CGM anyway. |

. Taking his Money mitigates away from Self Defense. As do her previous statements of threatening to stab her previous boyfriend, in the presence of Police. . Edited by Mason, Apr 16 2011, 10:22 AM.

He very well may have been laying down on the couch ... hence the reported seven stabs wounds to his left side and the knife found stabbed into the couch cushion. It may also exlplain the standing charge, "assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill." http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/9387874/ Daye told officers that Mangum stabbed him on his left side and took his money, according to a search warrant released Tuesday. Officers found several knives inside the apartment, including one stabbed into a couch cushion, the search warrant states. They removed the knives from the home, as well as parts of other knives and a set of brass knuckles, according to the warrant. Edited by maggief, Apr 16 2011, 11:00 AM.

We know for a gold-plated fact that the Durham PD lies. And so does the Durham area media. And so does the District Attorney. If we want to know what really happened, WE will have to do the investigation ourselves. That means attending the DPD presser and asking questions IN PUBLIC so they cannot dodge them. Allowing the same people who lied repeatedly during The Frame to conduct the investigation and report on this murder will result in the same situation we had five years ago. ANYONE can go to public meetings and pressers and ask questions. There is no government license to do news reporting. If anyone challenges you, tell them you are a special correspondent for Liestoppers Blog. Edited by abb, Apr 16 2011, 11:07 AM.

Judging from the various locations they found DNA, I'd have to classify her as a THREE-Ringed Circus Act |

Obviously there is much to find out about the events that preceded and followed the stabbing event. The nephew should be able to relay what did Mr. Daye say? What condition was he in? I wouldn't think a man stabbed 7 times would walk easily to report his injuries or ask for help. He may have been bleeding profusely. Was there a trail of blood? What did the crime scene look like? What are the forensics on the knife? How was he stabbed from what direction and was he standing or laying down? Was there blood spatter? What did the Officers see in their first visit? Why did they leave? What convinced them the situation was sufficiently under control? Did the Officers suspect Crystal was on drugs, prescribed or illegal? Was she tested? How was she apprehended? What did Crystal say upon arrest? How did Woody Vann get the job of counsel and when? There are many blanks to be filled in. She isn't going anywhere. The Durham Justice System is again under the microscope of public opinion. They don't have a good record. The RCD Lawsuit might come into play in that it criticized the procedures of the DPD. As I stated before we have come full circle. The same gal, the DPD, DUMC, DA's Office, the same Defense attorney she had are all back. One thing they know this time. We know they know we know, they know we are watching, and the MSM knows we catch their poor reporting, we will have Blog Hooligans in the court. Too many smart & interested individuals will be studying every move. The Plaintiff's attorneys, reporters who will want the truth this time, and some really nosy Blog Hooligans. I know we have some pretty smart people here. The question is who will be the DA in court? Who are the Police Homicide Detectives? Are they the best they have? Or will it be a rookie from Northgate sub-station. All I can say is, "We are eyeing you!" Edited by Baldo, Apr 16 2011, 11:41 AM.

Good point! The management of DPD by others comes to the front of the table, as was briefly mentioned before. I'm not sure if or how a lawsuit can change that, but the point that a change is necessary seems more obvious now. I've ALWAYS presumed that is at or near the top of the list in priorites for RCD's lawsuit ...clean the cess pool up so others are not hurt by it ...protect the innocent. |
