In the midst of our spate of triumphalism, there is genuine pain and sorrow. Our worst nightmare just materialized at the expense of a human life. To the left Reginald Daye is collateral damage, a sacrifice to the goddess of black womanhood, who got an A in a hard course, and who new to dancing. To the 88, he is collateral damage to the race, class, gender trope through which their world is understood. It does not matter that she falsely accused three young men of offenses which, if convicted, would essentially have ended their lives. The narrative was more important than stinking middle class facts. Facts in a conventional sense are just an artifact to keep poor black women like Crystal oppressed. To Roy Cooper, an act of humanity failed to become an act of courage, because to prosecute CGM would expose him to the most heinous charge imaginable in the left's world, the charge of racism. And the charge, once made, is irretievably true. Once someone is a racist, they lose all place in civilized society. Their ideas are outcast, and so are they. Richard Brodhead and Our Man Steel shored up their liberal enlightenment credentials by throwing their own students under the bus for a person now alleged to be a murderer, on top of all her other transgressions. And what will they say. Oh, we didn't know, the facts just kept achangin', how were we to know. And besides, if we had done the honest thing and stood by our students we would have lost our jobs, Durham would have burned in riots. So better to coddle a future murderer than risk their august positions. Reginald Daye died for the sins of Richard Brodhead, Robert Steel, Rev. Barber, Wahneema Lubiano and too many others to name. But they know who they are. At the Final Judgment they will have to explain to the risen Lord how they could have failed so miserably. And somehow I don't think the race, class, gender trope will play that well with Him. "Do unto others as you would have done unto you" would have been a better plan. Maybe now some can try.
Eloquent.

This saddens me deeply tonight.

We have been screaming for years that CGM was going to explode and hurt someone. Our screams fell on death ears. Our hearts have been heavy with worry and concern for her three children. No one listened. CGM was proclaimed a "Good Mother" and her enablers believed it.

Who will tell the children that apparently their mother killed someone who brought them into his home?
Where are the children tonight?

May God wrap his arms around these three children and protect them in the years to come.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Daye family in the days to come. My God bless them and keep the close.
Actually, I don't think her enablers ever believed her.

I think they believed supporting her in spite of her instability and evil would serve their political goals.

They are evil, not just stupid.

Even if they are people you know and don't want to believe this about them.

You gotta admit, it's more than a little unusual for a Judge to declare a women "a Good Mother" after she's just been convicted of multiple contributing to the delinquency counts and had multiple Cops describe the home as having no furniture and having so much trash on the floor, you couldn't walk through without tripping on it.

When a Superior Court Judge made the declaration, maybe they started to believe in their own lies.

You'll get no argument from me on the Evil charge, we already know what they are arguing now. The brutal attack by dashing lacrossemen while levitating ruined the poor child for life.

Notice how 32 yr old Crystal is always treated like she's 17?

I was suspicious because the media wasn't saying much about his condition, but the relative said he was in bad shape. I thought that was odd and it made me think he might die.
That the State-Run Media in the triangle area didn't report and update on Dye's condition is also notable.

Not only did they NOT know, they didn't WANT to know.

Police said Mangum stabbed Reginald Daye, 46, in the torso with a kitchen knife during a dispute at 3507 Century Oaks Drive. He underwent emergency surgery at Duke University Hospital and was expected to make a full recovery.

Daye told officers that Mangum stabbed him on his left side and took his money, according to a search warrant released Tuesday.

Officers found several knives inside the apartment, including one stabbed into a couch cushion, the search warrant states. They removed the knives from the home, as well as parts of other knives and a set of brass knuckles, according to the warrant.

It is 6:10 AM, Eastern daylight time. Still no story in the Raleigh News & Observer on the death of Reginald Daye at the hands of Crystal Gail Mangum.

"I was taught when I was a young reporter that it's news when we say it is. I think that's still true -- it's news when 'we' say it is. It's just who 'we' is has changed"

Boyfriend of Duke lacrosse accuser reported dead

From Staff Reports
Published in: Durham County

The boyfriend of Crystal Mangum -- stabbed April 3 during a domestic altercation -- has died, Durham police confirmed this morning.

Durham police watch commander Lt. B. Reitz confirmed the death but did not have any information on additional charges against Mangum, who is currently in the Durham County jail on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Her bail is set at $300,000.

Police were dispatched to 3507 Century Oaks Drive at 3:15 a.m. on April 3. They found a 46-year-old man who had been stabbed in the torso.

Mangum, the woman who was at the center of the Duke University lacrosse scandal, was told at her bond hearing to have no contact with boyfriend R.D. Wilson.

"Stay away from him. Don't text him. Don't Facebook him. Don't have anyone else do it on your behalf," District Court Judge Nancy Gordonshe said.

Five years ago, Mangum accused members of the Duke lacrosse team of sexually assaulting her while she was working as a stripper for an escort service. The accusations were eventually labeled as false and the case was dismissed by state Attorney General Roy Cooper, but not before the case garnered nationwide attention.

Mangum made the headlines again last year when Durham police charged her with felony arson, child abuse, vandalism and resisting a law enforcement officer.

In February 2010, police accused Mangum of slashing the vehicle tires of her boyfriend, Milton Walker, smashing the windshield with a vacuum cleaner and setting fire to a pile of his clothes in a bathtub while the police and her three children were in her apartment.

Mangum was convicted of child abuse, vandalism and resisting an office

WTVD did not seem sure at all if he had died as of this morning. They claimed they had just found out.

You have to be pretty handy with a knife to flatten the tires of a car like Crystal did...

A question for the legal beagles.....do you think that Crystal's attorney will try to have the case moved to a different jurisdiction?
That would be a mistake. Durham is the only place where she would NOT be convicted. Anywhere else would have thrown the book at her the last time.

I wouldn't want to have the Karma of Mike Nifong, Jackie Wagstaff, Victoria Peterson, Vincent Clark, Abe Jones, and numerous others that worked to make this possible.

Not in a Million years. I'm predicting bad things.

I also believe that Crystal was trying to kill him and her actions are consistent with someone that didn't think the Cops were on the way and she was going to be picked up.

Out of about 30 other recent cases in Durham where the defendant is charged with her charge (Assault with a Deadly weapon with Intent to Kill inflicting serious injuries), there was exactly one other case where that was the only charge.

I think the Police were hesitant due to who Crystal is and they were on eggshells. They also had that delay in searching the apartment evidently.

I hope the nephew is a strong person, because the authorities could (privately) discourage him from testifying before it's all over. With Crystal, don't ever think you have it figured out.
