I don't even know if it still an accepted term of science or psychological diagnosis, but Crystal is criminally insane. By the way, how the hell does she keep getting boyfriends?...never mind, don't answer that, it was rhetorical. |

http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/9377710/ Duke lacrosse accuser charged with assault Posted: 16 minutes ago Updated: A minute ago A Durham woman, known for falsely accusing three Duke University lacrosse players of rape in 2006, was arrested on assault charges Sunday. Durham County jail officials said that Crystal Mangum was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. She is being held without bond. Details of what led to her arrest were not immediately available. Mangum was charged with attempted murder and arson in February 2010 after police said she assaulted her boyfriend in front of her children and lit some of his clothes on fire. In January, a jury found her not guilty of the most serious charges but convicted her of three counts of child abuse, injury to personal property and resisting a public officer. She was sentenced to 88 days in jail, which she had already served while awaiting trial. While a student at North Carolina Central University in March 2006, Mangum worked as a stripper and performed at a party hosted by members of the Duke lacrosse team. She claimed three white players trapped her inside a bathroom at 610 N. Buchanan Blvd. and raped and sexually assaulted her. Mike Nifong, Durham County's district attorney at the time, had the three players indicted on rape and other charges on the basis of Mangum's allegations, but the case later began to crumble with her wavering in key details of her story. That forced Nifong to dismiss the rape charges, and several months later, North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper dismissed the remaining charges, saying there was no credible evidence to support the charges. Nifong was later disbarred for withholding DNA evidence from defense attorneys in the case. |

The woman has given just one interview, speaking to a News & Observer reporter March 24. Since then, The N&O has spoken to former classmates and neighbors, friends and family members, and has examined several official documents where her name appears. 'She was quiet' The petite, soft-spoken woman is described by friends as a caring mother and a hard worker. According to people who have talked with her about her studies at NCCU, she also is a serious student who recently received an A in a difficult course. The youngest of three children raised in a working-class Durham neighborhood, she graduated from Hillside High School in 1996, according to her family. A school yearbook photo from her senior year shows a girl with chin-length black braids and dark brown eyes. Her lips are pursed in a shy smile. The News & Observer is not naming her or her family members because it is the paper's policy not to identify people listed as victims of sexual assault on police reports. "She usually kept to herself," said Frederica Thomas, 27, a classmate from Hillside. "She was quiet. ... When I saw her, she was usually with her sister." The sister, who is a year older, is described by former neighbors and family members as a smart overachiever. Really, what are the odds she walks on this one? Stabbing him in the torso has got to be no question attempted murder. Surely there are some penalties in Durham NC for this type of bodily injury. But, it is Wonderland. She is a one-woman crime machine.

Hey Dickie -- Once again, this is the woman whose word you took over the word of forty of your own students. As the Bard would have put it, "F--k you." Enjoy your depo. -JackWebb T'93 |

Wasn't there a knife involved in last February's episode of "The Crystal Saga"? |

How does Samiha Khanna feel for writing this stuff? How does the N&O explain printing it (in an expurgated version which left out Mangum's allegations against Kim Roberts)? How does the N&O explain backing a frame-up, and enabling Mangun's continued lifestyle? |

Oh, yeah, and Joan's right that Crystal is escalating. If she isn't locked up for good, somebody's going to get killed next time, and if that happens, I just pray it's not one of her kids. |

Dam I was about to use the exact same quote. Some one else took "the gift that keeps on giving". I'm sure KC will get around to "you can't make this sh*t up" in the next day or two. I'm really conflicted about which CGM cliche to go with; all the best ones have been taken! Oh well, let me be the first to say that while I wasn't in the apartment "Some Thing Must Have Happened" (besides the guy getting shanked in the gut). I hope this incident won't dampen the turn out for the 5th annual National Day of Truth Telling march. |

http://www.carolinapoliticsonline.com/2011/04/03/will-this-loser-please-just-go-away/ Will This Loser Please Just Go Away? Posted on April 3, 2011 by Press 7 for Celtic Durham Police arrested Duke lacrosse accuser Crystal Mangum early Sunday morning. Police were dispatched to a stabbing call at 3507 Century Oaks Drive around 3:15 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found a 46-year-old man who had been stabbed in the torso. The victim was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment. Police said the stabbing occurred during an argument between the victim and his girlfriend, Mangum. Mangum, 32, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. NBC17.com I know the national budget is a mess and that we really don’t have money for further space exploration. But I’d make an exception, and personally put in a couple extra dollars, if tomorrow NASA announced that their next mission would be a one-way trip to Mars and Ms. Mangum was the lucky astrochick who got to go. |

My friend, these "boyfriends" are really agents in the employ of Rae Evans. The first one burned up his clothes, but that came up short. Now they are stabbing themselves. |
