Obama to UAW: ‘Trying to Climb to the Very Top’ Is ‘Greed,’ Not What America’s ‘About’

President Obama – in a speech to the United Auto Workers union – said that “trying to climb to the very top” was not what America is “about,” saying that it was “greed” and that in reality “we’re all in it together.”

“America’s not just looking out for yourself, it’s not just about greed, it’s not just about trying to climb to the very top and keep everybody else down,” Obama said at the UAW’s annual National Community Action Program Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.

He has the "keep everybody else down" mastered, eliminating self-reliance and ambition in the process.

He is right in a way - people should strive to rise to the top but not to keep everyone else down. You should strive to get to the top and allow others to strive to do the same.

I get the feeling, however, from what he is saying that he believes striving to rise to the top automatically means you are trying to keep others from attempting the same thing. That is not what striving for the top automatically means.

Since Obama's so adamant about the rich paying "their fair share," I think he believes the wealthy are trying to keep others down by not wanting to pay higher taxes. He seems to hate the successful and wants to guilt them by the greedy label.

Obama is greedy in my book with all of his out of control spending. Without his lust for government revenues raising the tax rates wouldn't be such a big issue. He talks about achieving the American Dream yet he chides those who have achieved it.

David Axelrod’s Red Roots: Obama Adviser’s Communist Ties Exposed

http://theothermccain.com/2012/03/04/david-axelrods-red-roots-obama-advisers-communist-ties-exposed/

The cover story of the March print edition of The American Spectator is not yet online and, if you are not yet a subscriber to the magazine, I urge you to rush out to the nearest Barnes & Noble or wherever else you can buy a copy, because it’s definitely worth the $5.95 newstand price.

Presidential historian Paul Kengor has dug up some fascinating facts about the background of David Axelrod, showing President Obama’s top political strategist to have deep ties to the American Communist Party (CPUSA) and other leftist individuals and organizations.

For example, Axelrod’s mother, Myril Bennett Axelrod, worked for the left-wing New York newspaper, PM. Although it lasted less than a decade (1940-48), PM became notorious because of its penetration by Stalinists and others who promoted the Communist Party line on issues both foreign and domestic. Kengor points out that PM‘s famed Washington correspondent, I.F. Stone, was subsequently identified as a Soviet agent both in the so-called “Venona” documents and also by a former top KGB official, Oleg Kalugin.

It is unclear where Axelrod’s mother fit in the orbit of Communists, Soviet sympathizers and other “progressives” who worked at PM, Kengor says, because despite “scouring reel upon reel of microfiche” copies of the newspaper, he was “unable to find a single article with Myril’s byline.” Nevertheless, her association with the paper locates her politics on the far-left fringe of the American politic spectrum in the 1940s, which would seem important to understanding her son’s later activities.

The funny part about Axelrod, was that the first time I saw him on television, before Obama was POTUS, I commented to my wife. Why would anyone hire this guy, he looks like Hitler, we were both watching the news and that happened to be my first thought. Maybe my visual observations were better then my instincts.

Joe Biden calls bin Laden raid the most ‘audacious plan’ in 500 years

Vice President Joe Biden said Monday that the raid that killed Osama bin Laden was the most "audacious plan" of the past 500 years. Biden's comments, made at a Democratic fundraiser in Morris Township, NJ, ranked the May 2011 assault that ended the Al-Qaeda chief's life above the D-Day invasion of Normandy in 1944, the surprise landing at Inchon in 1950 that turned the tide of the Korean War or, going back a bit further, George Washington's daring night-time crossing of the Delaware River before the Battle of Trenton in 1776.

"You can go back 500 years. You cannot find a more audacious plan. Never knowing for certain. We never had more than a 48% probability that he was there," Biden said, hailing the raid as a shining example of President Barack Obama's leadership.

"Do any one of you have a doubt that if that raid failed that this guy would be a one-term president?" Biden asked, according to the media pool report from the event. "This guy is willing to do the right thing and risk losing."

The vice president also delivered a regular line that may be the pithiest "bumper sticker" reelection argument for Obama: "Osama Bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive. Think about it."..snipped

Biden is about as big an AzzHat as you will ever find. It is an embarrassment that he is VP.

BTW the people who actually planned & carried out the raid were Seals, you dumb ****!

I can think of a few more daring raids right off the top of my head. Not to mention more important.

Absolutely!

There are so many brave men who have died in defense of this country. How about the Rangers who parachuted into Normandy behind German lines before D-Day and fought their way back to the front. Or those American, British, Australian troops who faced the beaches of Normandy under full fire. The world's fate was hanging on those thousands of young men who fought & died that day,

What really bugs me is Washington's daring crossing of the Delaware River before the Battle of Trenton in 1776. Remember George Washington was facing defeat and this daring move in which he actually led some of troops was a major turning point in the Revolutionary War

Washington was aided by the publication of Thomas Paine's "Common Sense" just a week earlier. Washington had these passed out to the troops who were on the verge of leaving as their enlistment was up.

..These are the times that try men's souls; the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph...

Washington's crossing of the Delaware River

Far as I know Obama wasn't dressed up in Seal's camouflage with a automatic weapon on that stealth helicopter deep behind Pakistan's borders.

I will agree that these are times which tries Men's Souls. Getting rid of Obama & Bite-it would certainly start to heal my soul.

BTW Eisenhower had already prepared his resignation speech if D-Day had failed. I doubt Obama had his ready.

Danish TV Host Mocks Obama for His Rhetoric
"Maybe the copy key got stuck on the presidential speechwriter's keyboard."

Thomas Buch-Andersen, host of the Danish TV show Detektor, mocked President Obama's political rhetoric in a recent episode. "Obama used a metaphor from boxing to explain Denmark's role in the world," says Buch-Andersen, introducing the segment.

He then roles the tape. "That's fairly typical of the way that Danes have punched above their weight in international affairs," President Obama says at a press availability in the Oval Office with Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt of Denmark.

"It's nice to be praised," Buch-Andersen remarks. "We punch harder than our weight class would suggest. But how much should we read into his words? According to Obama, are we doing any better than, say, the Norwegians?"

The TV host again turns to the tape, this time showing President Obama in the Oval Office with Norwegian prime minister Jens Stoltenberg. "I've said this before, but I want to repeat: Norway punches above its weight," Obama says.

Back to Buch-Andersen. "Hmm. So Norway packs a punch too. But what about the Netherlands? Here, their head of government, Mark Rutte, visits Obama."

The tape roles yet again. "We have no stronger ally than the Netherlands," says Obama. "They consistently punch above their weight."

The TV host continues, pointing to the similar rhetoric Obama used when Ireland's head of state came to town, and then the Philippines.

Buch-Andersen wonders aloud, "Maybe the copy key got stuck on the presidential speechwriter's keyboard."
