That's lots of billions for them to pay for by 2021. We have the program set up to help banks maintain liquidity in order, to better assist the lower income purchase homes, now charging the lower income applicants so that we can pay back what we took from the retirement program established to help the lower income folks. I'm dizzy trying to figure this one out ...especially considering the fact that there has been so much talk about eliminating or replacing Fannie & Freddie! |

. I read today where Fannie or Freddie said that historically-low Interest rates aren't helping. Even that is not enough - the opinion stated. Wonder if they're hinting for more giveaways and sweetners? . Edited by Mason, Dec 29 2011, 03:27 PM.

Never mind the fact that costs for enforcement of and adherence to the regulations are embedded in the prices, reducing production. Edited by kbp, Jan 13 2012, 03:10 PM.

Tossing aside the pro & cons regarding abortion, figure that one out! They both must be involved if a child is given up for adoption, so that seems like the "same rights". A guy has the choice, I guess, to just walk away and ignore a pregnancy ....which he has to pay for or have it held as a judgment against him. The gal evidently has to carry the child, if she will not have an abortion. That's nature, so no law will change that and provide the "same rights" there. The choice for abortion, so she may have some sort of "same rights, can be made by ONLY the female ...if she so chooses. The only part of the equation that involves "same rights" that I can think of is giving the child up for adoption. WTH am I missing here, Barry? Are the "same rights" related to not having to carry the child in a pregnancy? |

The truly dismal state of the union ANALYSIS/OPINION: There is one person — one American among the 300 million of us — who is not to blame for the state of the union. Everyone else, each of you, in some small or large way, bears some share of the blame, but not this guy. Not one little bit. This guy is Barack Obama. He is not the least bit to blame for the dismal state of the U.S. economy. George W. Bush is, for sure, and that evil Dick Cheney, oh, no doubt. House Speaker John A. Boehner — evil, too — is, of course, to blame. But guess what? So is Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, and every Democrat in the House and Senate. Now, President Truman made it very clear: The buck stops with him. No passing the buck for that guy. But Mr. Obama blames everyone but himself. Mr. Bush, he says, left the nation in a ditch, a deep ditch, and he’s been digging out since he took office. And Congress? Those guys are just plain awful, he says. So mean. Wah, they won’t do anything I want done! Mr. Obama feels so sure about it that he’s basing his re-election campaign on bashing Capitol Hill. But with the president delivering his State of the Union speech to Congress Tuesday night, let’s pause here to take as hard look at the real state of America, by the numbers, using only cold, hard facts. The unemployment rate when Mr. Obama was elected was 6.8 percent; today it is 8.5 percent — at least that’s the official number. In reality, the Financial Times writes, “if the same number of people were seeking work today as in 2007, the jobless rate would be 11 percent.” In addition, there are now fewer payroll jobs in America than there were in 2000 — 12 years ago — and now, 40 percent of those jobs are considered “low paying,” up 10 percent from when President Reagan took office. The number of self-employed has dropped 2 million to 14.5 million in just six years. Regular gasoline per gallon cost $1.68 in January 2009. Today, it’s $3.39 — that’s a 102 percent increase in just three years. (By the way, if you’re keeping score at home, gas was $1.40 a gallon when George W. Bush took office in 2001, $1.68 when he left office — a 20 percent increase.) Electricity bills have also skyrocketed, with households now paying a record $1,420 annually on average, up some $300....snipped http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jan/22/curl-the-truly-dismal-state-of-the-union/?page=all#pagebreak The "...smartest president ever..?" |

Obama wants small-business bill this year Almost reads like Barry is a conservative ...wait, it was a conservative idea! ADD: A second thought to consider here. When does a liberal use tax cuts for business incentives not focused on any isolated industry they wish to promote? If there is an answer, it must be election year in a bad economy. That seems rather ironic coming from the mouth of the military Commander In Chief. Is it not him bragging FOR "personal ambition" there? ...of course Bloomberg has to help him along with that narrative. Edited by kbp, Feb 1 2012, 10:00 AM.

(received this as email, NO SOURCE GIVEN) I have NO idea if this is true. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Plot Thickens An intensive investigation has revealed the identity of the man whose Social Security number (SSN) is being used by President Obama: Jean Paul Ludwig, who was born in France in 1890, immigrated to the United States in 1924, and was assigned SSN 042-68-4425 (Obama's current SSN) on or about March 1977. Ludwig lived most of his adult life in Connecticut .. Because of that, his SSN begins with the digits 042, which are among only a select few reserved for Connecticut residents. Obama never lived or worked in that state! Therefore, there is no reason on earth for his SSN to start with the digits 042. None whatsoever! Now comes the best part! Ludwig spent the final months of his life in Hawaii, where he died. Conveniently, Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Payne Dunham, worked part-time in the Probate Office in the Honolulu Hawaii Courthouse, and therefore had access to the SSNs of deceased individuals. The Social Security Administration was never informed of Ludwig's death, and because he never received Social Security benefits there were no benefits to stop and therefore, no questions were ever raised The suspicion, of course, is that Dunham, knowing her grandson was not a U.S. Citizen, either because he was born in Kenya or became a citizen of Indonesia upon his adoption by Lolo Soetoro simply scoured the probate records until she found someone who died who was not receiving Social Security benefits, and selected Mr Ludwigs Connecticut SSN for Obama |

The SS# issue was presented to the court in Georgia. Most all above is accuate regarding Barry using that number. I had never read about the history of the guy alleged to have had the SS# before Barry. Here is a pdf on the exhibits presented in the Georgia case. I happened to have left the window open all night! |

'Islamist Firster' president not what he claimed ANALYSIS/OPINION: GOLAN HEIGHTS - Surveying the live minefields, cratered roads and mortar-pocked concrete buildings along the border here between Syria and Israel, it is hard not to be reminded of the historic and monumental disappointment President Obama has been. When he was campaigning to become the most powerful man in the last standing superpower on Earth, he spoke passionately about changing the world, restoring America's greatness and bringing more peace and fairness to everyone. In both foreign and domestic matters, Mr. Obama had unique credibility to change things as few presidents ever had. Despite his background as a liberal street organizer, he campaigned on tax cuts and personal responsibility and preached that the government simply cannot be the answer to every problem. Republicans would have no choice but to go along with an agenda to shrink the tax burden and get the federal government out of our everyday lives. Instead, Mr. Obama has devoted his administration to raising taxes, adding to the byzantine structure of the federal government, and has created a whole new massive bureaucracy he claims really will cure our every little boo-boo. As for the rest of the world, Mr. Obama promised to devote himself to healing the grave injustices and halting the atrocities that have afflicted the world since the rise of radical, violent jihadism. With his Muslim roots, Mr. Obama was positioned better than any leader on the global stage to speak with authority to radical Islamists and finally bring about permanent peace. Instead, Mr. Obama chose to unilaterally alienate perhaps our most strategically important ally in the world and do all he can to cozy up to the very people who are dedicated to destroying not only Israel, but America as well. Leading Democrats have been in the news lately sliming Americans who stick up for Israel as being "Israel Firsters." Well, Mr. Obama has become an "Islamist Firster." Since becoming president, he has not once visited our greatest ally in the region. Rather, he has gone to places like Cairo to tell the Muslim world how much he likes it. He also stunningly trashed the oath of office he took by saying it is "part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear." And, of course, he apologized for the "sexuality" and "mindless violence" from the West permeating the Internet. But Internet porn and creepy videos are little match for virginity tests, stoning women and beheading Jews - all for the fun of it. When Mr. Obama finally addressed Israel, he shockingly said the tiny country should further retrench so its well-armed enemies can retake high ground from which to fire rockets at Israelis and move closer so they can hit major population centers such as Tel Aviv. Such a twisted and half-baked view of justice is bad enough in a president. But things are about to get much more terrifying when Iran finally gets its hands on a nuclear warhead, which appears likely to happen in a matter of months. It will be a very complicated situation because the most powerful man in the last remaining superpower on the planet is an Islamist Firster. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jan/31/hurt-islamist-firster-president-not-what-he-claime/ Charles Hurt is political columnist for The Washington Times. Since 2001, he has covered national politics from Washington. Before joining the Post, Hurt followed the 2004 presidential campaign and covered congress for the Washington Times. |
