The White House detainee policy volte-face vindicates the policies of President George W. Bush. At the very least, Mr. Obama should apologize to his predecessor for smearing his reputation so thoroughly during the 2008 campaign. Our novice commander in chief has learned the valuable lesson that talking about being president, at which Mr. Obama was so adept, is a far cry from actually being president, at which he clearly is not.

This should be a lesson studied by all who think that they might want to be POTUS.

It is well and fine to postulate all that the current office holder is doing wrong - but quite often one finds that one is actually at the helm that the view from the bridge is quite different than the one from the dock.

That organizational chart must be a beauty. :uhoh:
Since all dept's seem to now duplicate what the others do, you'd have just one name at the top and the balance scattered throughout until they appoint a Chart Czar.

Baldo's comment in another thread, which I thought fit perfectly here;

Quote:

As CKS asks who are competent in Obama Administration?

Sec of State HRC is looking like a fool with foreign Policy,

Attorney General Holder refuses to uphold the law,

Homeland Security's Big Sis is a joke,

Treasury Sec Geithner is leading us down the road to financial ruin,

United States Secretary of Energy,

Dr. Steven Chu is getting his higher gas prices,

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and is making sure they stop drilling anywhere they can, and

Biden is well, Bite it.

They are all lead by incompetent "smartest president ever!"

I have long believed we could be heading to a constitutional crisis. What could tip that off? Energy Policy and the resultant Energy Cost seems the most likely. Apparently this Administration can kick Americans in the teeth again and again with their very stupid actions; Obama-care, out of control borrowing & spending, Obama's foreign affair follies, an arrogant & corrupt congress , but a trip to the gas pump and soaring gas prices will get their attention. It hits them immediately.

Again and Again why do Politicians fail to understand?

"It is the Economy Stupid!"

Do you realize we are spending 600 million dollars a day on interest payments alone? We still don't even have a budget for the USA starting in Sept 2010.! We are on a continuing resolution!

America used to have leaders from both sides who understood that foreign & domestic policy should be for the benefit of the American people. This Administration is heading to an EPIC Fail.

Trouble is we are going down with them.

...and with all that Mochelle, has a $1000.00 tote bag. IMO, this president and first lady are in the White House for self gratification.

Well heavens!

Mrs. Obama was gaining a lot of traction as the fashion icon for the everywoman when all of a sudden she stepped out of the Michellemobile – reportedly Monday – grasping a $1,000 tote bag.

Take a look-see!

Dear Baldo,
Please send one of your 'favorite' gym bags to each of
40 + of your favorite people on this board.

Feel sure Soros will pay, if Mobama has not already donated.

Baldo, I think you've gone over Budget :confus:

I think if we left this alone, we'd have all the women talking on the handbag thread and all the men speaking on the Contessa Brewer Butt thread.

Wasn't it DP2004 that said he sees Dollar Signs when he sees women? Or something like that.

Since the Crapper stuck his foot in his mouth again today, Obama has had to call a press conference for tomorrow. Should be interesting to see if he gets any tough questions or whether it will be the usual fawning.

Obama to bullying victims: I know what it's like

DARLENE SUPERVILLE
Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama smiled when he said his large ears and funny name once made him a target of school-yard harassment. But he was all seriousness Thursday when he told a White House conference on bullying that torment and intimidation must not be tolerated.

Some 13 million students, about a third of all those attending school, are bullied every year, the White House said. Experts say that puts them at greater risk of falling behind in their studies, abusing drugs or alcohol, or suffering mental or other health problems. Kids who are seen as different because of their race, clothes, disability or sexual orientation are more likely to be bullied.

snip

Speaking as a parent and as a victim, Obama urged everyone to help end bullying by working to create an atmosphere at school where children feel safe and feel like they belong. He said that even he felt out of place growing up.

"I have to say, with big ears and the name that I have, I wasn't immune," said Obama, who moved around a lot as a boy, being born in Hawaii and growing up there and in Indonesia. "I didn't emerge unscathed," he said.

Obama said adults have too often turned a blind eye to the problem by chalking up the harassment to kids being kids. But he said a national attitude adjustment is in order because of the damage that bullying can do.

A White House conference doesn't immediately solve any problem. But what it does do, particularly by involving the president, is tell the country that an issue is, in fact, a problem that requires a national response.

snip

Central planning in the WH working on that national response.

http://articles.latimes.com/2009/apr/24/nation/na-interrogate24/2

"...The president has tried to walk a fine rhetorical line, heeding liberals' calls to release the interrogation memos but appearing to argue against further investigation or prosecution by saying "this is a time for reflection, not retribution."

Instead, he managed to anger both constituencies.

"My sense is the president was trying to please a lot of audiences at one time, and that over the last [week] he has totally failed to put the mind of the intelligence community at ease," said Mark Lowenthal, who was a senior advisor to George J. Tenet when Tenet was CIA director. "He is going to end up with a national clandestine service that will not be willing to do anything because they feel he will not be there for them when they need him."

Could that explain the absence of brilliance coming from the intelligence services reporting to those he appointed?
