I know it's mean, but with the contempt verdict - I'm doing a happy dance in Kansas.

10 days in jail and $200 fine.
As I was catching up reading, your post forced - well, persuaded(!) - me to mix a strong one and dance all the way back to my computer!

You know she'll be out sooner than 10 days, but just one night puts her even with Mikey! Both are criminals on record.
:roflmao:

,
Now, I'm willing to bet that Wagstaff doesn't see any 10 days.

Judge Jones visits her this weekend and brings her dinner and tells her not to worry.

I fear for those kids being back in that nut jobs care. Durham is truely in Wonderland.
And that is the worst part about all this. Every second those kids spend with Crystal the more damage she does to them long term. The damage won't stop till they are taken away from her or she turns her life around. And that isn't going to happen till the justice system treats her like it would treat everyone else and she hits rock bottom. As it stands now there is no reason for her to get off whatever legal or illegal drugs she is on or stop "dancing".

okay - so now I am totally confused. If the vote was 9-3 in Mangum's favor, why would her attorney want a mistrial instead of her client declared not guilty? Second, how in God's name could Crystal who was convicted on the other charges get her kids back?
I read the tweets twice on what the NEW jury instructions would be, and I saw them as missing a point or two necessary to convict - IF they were to be as the tweets said.

Quote:

# Dexter: This instruction is downgrading element so that negligence will suffice instead of malice

The way the tweets were going, an accidental fire could have convicted her. The actual revised instructions weren't as bad as Dexter said, but they looked to be missing "knowingly" by quite a bit, were difficult to use in determining how the balance of the elements related and a mistrial was a good outcome for Crystal. She needs to get back to work!!

It's a Durham Insider thingy - deep inside stuff.

We wouldn't understand.

Unless the N&O is wrong

And the sad part is Mike deserved to be in jail much longer than that for what he tried to do. Same thing applies to Mangum.

Anyone need a Babysitter?

It's Friday Night and Crystal is available.

I wouldn't allow her to babysit an animal or a child. Unless I wanted to be charged with a crime.

Although the judge gave out the number of votes the jury was at, no one but the jury knew how many were on the guilty side and how many were on the not guilty side. The defense lawyer would not know either. It appears she was scared that it was against Man gum on the guilty side. That is why she did not hesitate to take what she got and run. Not waiting to solve the dilemma.

Durham has crossed over from Wonderland into the Twilight Zone. None of this makes any sense.

Are you sure she is available? Friday night would seem like a naturally busy night for the self employed....
