Heat back on - furnace tech here earlier to service my heater had forgotten to turn it back on after he cleaned the furnace and replaced the filter. New tech located the mistake and fixed it......feeling coming back into my fingers and toes. |

1.) Incompetent court and judge, plus tampered jury 2.) Sister Survivor wins again. 3.) Totally dysfunctional "legal system" in Durham and North Carolina. |

. Those 3 jurors selected based on their race. The Judge himself asked Dexter why she didn't get the racial 3rd degree to other jurors as she did the white Males. That came from a Judge. |

Trials are won and lost in jury selection almost every time. I firmly believe that. |

http://www.newsobserver.com/2010/12/17/868180/crystal-mangum-verdict-may-be.html Published Fri, Dec 17, 2010 01:20 PM Modified Fri, Dec 17, 2010 04:57 PM Mangum supporter jailed 10 days for contempt due to outburst DURHAM Former Durham city councilwoman and school board member Jackie Wagstaff has been jailed for ten days for contempt of court in the Crystal Mangum arson trial. She was charged with contempt after saying "This is ridiculous" while Superior Court Judge Abe Jones was ordering the jury back into deliberation after two days of being split on Mangum's felony arson charge. Jones also ordered her to pay a $200 fine. Jones heard the comment directly but didn't know who said it, and threatened 30 days of jail time for anyone making any further outbursts. But bailiff Staci Ottoway identified Wagstaff as the person. Jones then called Ottoway to testify to that under oath and called for public defender Lawrence Campbell, whose office is across the hall from the courtroom, to represent Wagstaff before the judge took any action against her. Campbell then called Wagstaff to the witness stand. Wagstaff apologized to the judge and said she made the comment as part of an ongoing conversation with fellow Mangum supporter Victoria Peterson. "It was just a sidebar," Wagstaff said. "It wasn't intended to disrespect your authority." But Jones then called another bailiff, Scott Hodges, to the stand. Hodges testified that he has had to quiet Wagstaff two to three times a day over the course of the trial. Jones said that Wagstaff's explanation "strains my crudility." Both Hodges and Ottoway noted that Wagstaff and a handful of other Mangum supporters have been making audible comments throughout the trial. Jones also warned a few other supporters to stop the audible comments bailiffs have reported. Jurors could reach a verdict this afternoon in the criminal case against Crystal Mangum. The trial has entered its third week, and the jury foreman today told Superior Court Judge Abe Jones it had reached unanimous decisions on five out of six charges. She said jurors were split 8-4 before lunch today on the most serious charge, felony arson. After 20 more minutes of deliberation, the split changed from 9-3, and the jury didn't think they could narrow the split any further. Mangum also faces charges of misdemeanor child abuse, injury to personal property and resisting an officer. |

If they declare a Mistrial on the Arson Charge, I hope that the state refiles the arson charge. Then tries her yet again . |

We were engaged in a very public debate. We said justice was corrupted in Durham by racial solidarity and bias. They said no. They said RCD could get a fair trial in Durham. We are about to see if our arguments win hands down again. If they "win"...they lose. And we all wait for next time. |
