1. Current spectators: me, Jackie Wagstaff and AP, WRAL and News & Observer reporters. half a minute ago via TweetDeck 2. (Superior judges regularly sit in other counties' courts, by the way.) less than a minute ago via TweetDeck 3. Jurors want the criteria for 1st-degree arson repeated. They want a legal definition of malice, too. from THS on tweet Edited by ~J~ is in Wonderland, Dec 16 2010, 02:58 PM.

I can't decide whether or not these jurors are dumb or looking for a loop hole to give Crystal her get out of jail free card. |

MillikenTHS 1. Things seem to be shaping up as I predicted they might in the story I wrote last night, which does not seem to have been posted on the Web. less than 10 seconds ago via Twitter for iPhone 2. The entire prosecution seems to hang on what the jury believes Crystal Mangum had in mind when she set a fire the night of Feb. 17. 2 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone 3. The fifth element (Hm. Interesting name for a science fiction flick) concerns malicious intent. Without it, the jury may not convict. 3 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone 4. Judge Jones read the five elements of felony first-degree arson twice. At the jury's request, he twice repeated element 5. 4 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone 5. The prosecutor wants it noted that there need not be malice against property or property-owner. Defense agrees. Jury coming back now. Edited by ~J~ is in Wonderland, Dec 16 2010, 03:13 PM.

. The fifth element (Hm. Interesting name for a science fiction flick) concerns malicious intent. Without it, the jury may not convict. 3 minutes ago via Twitter How can you set clothes on fire that belong to someone else (in an occupied dwelling) and it not be considered malicious unless of course CGM grills her burgers in a bathtub. |

"grilling burgers in the bathtub" - surprised that CGM didn't use that excuse!
