The local media just wants to embellish the fairytale.

Read the story linked...

I might be missing something but the story tells her original version of events but not the part were she admits actually smashing the car window etc. in the video - this actual happened?

I would think a video of person confessing to a crime they are on trial for is pretty important but in wonderland...

Let us pray or hope or whatever that, if found guilty, CGM has her children adopted by a loving family, tho I fear it may be too late and the young ones' fates may be cast...

Let there be heat!!

I have heat finally. It's up to 65 inside.

Some kind of line was frozen. The repairman showed me the ice inside the line.

Hooligans, its been sooooo cold here and what a mess coming our way for tomorrow and then again Saturday.

I have been ticked off all day! What a time for my heat to go out. I guess it didn't know there is a trial going on. grrr

Thanks to all the Faithful Hooligans for your time and reporting. Far superior to anything found anywhere else!

Just imagine, you've earned a law degree from Harvard--and here you are in Durham, NC with CGM for a client. I'd be trying to figure out where I went wrong and who had I angered along the way!!!

A special thanks to all of you who took time out of your busy schedule to trudge down to the courthouse and give us such outstanding reports. I’m impressed how you paid such attention to the facts and told the whole story.

I trust the jury will render a fair and impartial verdict.

I can imagine that if the lacrosse case had come to trial, a crony judge (Stephens, Titus, Hudson-even Smith)
would be ruling against permitting any of Gottlieb's actions against Duke students to be entered into evidence.

Not only would a jury have been subjected to enormous pressure to convict; but in addition the entire
process itself would (IMHO) have been hopelessly biased.

Nifong knew he had nothing to fear if he brought the case to court--nobody in the media was going
to challenge him, and (almost) nobody in the law was going to challenge him.

Here the defense lawyer wants jury nullification to let Mangum
off the hook despite the overwhelming evidence of guilt.

If the Duke Lax case had made it to trial, the jury would have
been asked to do "evidence nullification": to convict despite the
total lack of evidence, to convict despite the overwhelming evidence
of innocence, to convict despite the fact that it was crystal clear
that Mangum had lied about all of it.

I have a question.

IF CGM is convicted and sent to prison where will the kids go? Will they be split up and given to their fathers as they have different ones?

Will they go to another family memeber or would the state order them put up for adoption?

~J~: glad to hear that your heat is back on!

Now, can we turn the heat up on these jurors? :)

Will they go home at 5:00 if they haven't reached a verdict? or will they stay later?
