This Joy Johnson???

Hillary Clinton: A proven leader voters can believe in
Herald-Sun, The (Durham, NC) - May 4, 2008
Editor's Note:Durham Democratic Party members Cathy Moore and Joy Johnson submitted this conversation in support of candidate Hillary Clinton:

Moore: Joy , I'm so glad you, a young person, are also supporting Hillary Clinton for president. I remember when Sen. Clinton was young, like Barack Obama is now. I remember when everything about Clinton, even her hairstyle, was criticized by Washington insiders. Her dedication, hard work and intelligence have won over many of her critics. That acceptance will make her a better champion for our issues, not compromise her.

Johnson : It was the first Clinton election that inspired me to get involved in politics when I was 14. I was very impressed with Hillary's participation in health care.

Moore: Clinton is the reason that the key question about national health insurance coverage is "What will it look like?" and not, "Will we have it? Hillary was instrumental in the passage of the Children's Health Insurance program, a first step to provide health insurance to all children. Her health insurance is the most comprehensive plan. It covers everyone through a choice of: Keeping your current plan, joining Congress's plan, or using a public plan. There will be tax credits to assist with paying premiums.

She has shown that she will continue to accept responsibility, to study and reflect on the issues and develop solutions to problems.

Johnson : Health care has always been an important issue for me since my mom has struggled with a pre-existing condition. Hillary's plan will provide severe sanctions for companies that exclude pre-existing conditions. Hillary has always believed that health care should be a "right, not a privilege." Sen. Obama claims that he will offer health care to anyone who wants it, but I believe health care should be for everyone, period. Hillary's plan will ensure that even if people are not thinking about the importance of health care, they will still have it if a time comes when they suddenly need it.

Moore: You and I have both been against the war in Iraq since before it started, for all the reasons most Americans are now against it. Clinton has a voting record of support for the troops with the best equipment and with medical care and other treatment when they return. She has the support of 30 high-ranking military officers. Her plan for withdrawal of the troops is another example of her maturity and common sense. Hillary plans to immediately convene a panel of military experts to come up with a plan, within 60 days, to deal with current realities on the ground that will safely remove the troops and Iraqi supporters of our military. She will require the return of private contractors and ban no-bid contracts. She is not making a bald promise to immediately remove the troops when that just may not be possible in January. This is important for North Carolina because of Fort Bragg, Camp Lejeune, and National Guard troops serving in Iraq.

Johnson : Hillary realizes the war in Iraq was a mistake. I also traveled to Iraq with a peace team; I have seen the damage the U.S. has caused to Iraq due to war and sanctions. However, I realize we did not get ourselves into Iraq in one day, so it will not be a quick and easy fix. Hillary will take the necessary steps needed to make sure we withdraw from Iraq in a safe and efficient manner that benefits both Americans and Iraqis.

Moore: In North Carolina, we have lost manufacturing jobs, and tobacco and cotton are no longer major industries. We need Hillary's policies and programs that support the middle class and will keep jobs in North Carolina. She wants to create "green" jobs. Sen. Clinton forecast the sub-prime mortgage crisis last summer.

Johnson : In North Carolina, we struggle to improve our education system. I recently spoke with a teenager who dropped out of school. No Child Left Behind hurt him because instead of focusing on how well he did on a test or quiz, it focused on whether or not he completed drill work and homework. Hillary realizes the importance of looking at each child individually with a partnership between teacher, parent and student rather than as a statistic, as she has stated in her book, "It Takes a Village".

Moore: Those of us who can remember real leaders should not be swept along. We must exercise critical thinking and look for specific policies and plans for financing and implementing them. The Republican administration has pushed us so far back that we cannot afford to be lulled into voting for another "nice guy", who may not have the skills to implement his ideas. We can hope for change, but with Hillary Clinton we know there will be change and what it will be like.

We have to nominate Hillary because she has the best chance in the long run to beat John McCain as she has specific plans for all the issues that confront us now and will benefit people over power.

We agree: Hillary Clinton is a leader we can believe in.

Johnson and Moore are Democratic Party officers and Durham residents.

Letters to the editor
Herald-Sun, The (Durham, NC) - October 6, 2007

Stith's flip-flopping

When it comes to fighting crime, Thomas Stith wants to have it both ways. In a recent brochure, Stith's high-paid Republican consultants have him saying he favors a "city partnership with schools and community groups to target at-risk children." Yet in March, while speaking to a Herald-Sun reporter, Stith questioned why the city was investing in just such program near the intersection of Driver Street and Angier Avenue.

With funds from the 2005 city bond, the former Holton School will be converted into a vocational school, recreation facilities and space for a health clinic run by Duke Medical Center. In an area suffering from crime, despair, and underinvestment, this project will bring activity to an empty and blighted building, as well as job skills and health care to residents living in difficult circumstances. It will shine a light into an area of Durham that needs it, and the activity will help drive out the criminal element.

Now that Stith is a candidate for mayor, his handlers see the value in endorsing a program like this. But in March, before he was a candidate, Stith opposed the investment in a struggling community. In November, Durham voters will see through his flip-flop on fighting crime.

This looks like him.

A Shaman at birth?

Bingo!
http://www.theindigodawn.com/Who_We_Are.html

Joy Johnson has been a political, peace and social activist since her early teens. She has devoted her life to peace activism and searching for proactive means to bring about world peace.

As a child, Joy had many spiritual experiences and always felt she was never alone due to the presence of spirit guides. As a teenager, she spent much of her time studying various religions, yet none of them felt right to her. After traveling to Iraq on a peace mission, she became more and more drawn to the spiritual energy surrounding her. The Indigo Dawn started as a vision during a meditation where she was clearly shown the enlightenment glyph and given the name Indigo Dawn. She decided to explore the New Age community more, and after taking a course in Reiki healing, experiencing past life regression along with direct guidance from her spirit guides, she confirmed that her destiny was to help bring about the New Age on Earth. Joy shared her vision with her husband, Joe; as a result The Indigo Dawn was founded to raise the vibration of energy on Earth.

In 2000, Joy graduated from Cornell University, obtaining a B.S. in Human Biology, Health and Society. Joy was born in Fayetteville, N.C., and grew up in Raleigh, N.C., where she attended Millbrook High School. In high school, she revived the N.C. Association of Teen Democrats after it had been dormant for 10 years and served as president for two years.

Joy serves as president of the United Nations Association of Wake County. She is currently third vice chair of the Durham County Democratic Party as well as vice president of the Young Democrats in Durham County. She is also a member of the Human Relations Commission of Durham, N.C.

Joy has traveled to Israel/Palestine with the Israeli Committee against House Demolitions to witness the conflict between Israel and Palestine on the ground. Before the 2003 war, Joy traveled to Iraq with the Christian Peacemaker Team to put a human face on the situation and to share with Americans the truth about the effect of the Gulf War and the imposed sanctions on the Iraqi people. Meanwhile, she speaks about her experience in the Middle East on a regular basis to any interested groups.

Rev. Joseph Craig has always seen the world through different eyes. He has known since a very young age that things were not as simple as those around him would like to suggest. By the age of 6 without even knowing the term for it, Joseph knew that this was not the first time he had walked the face of the earth. This level of understanding and reason is something that has continued throughout his life.

Joseph was always fascinated with magick and anything related to the topic. It was not until he reached the age of 14 that he came to the understanding that magick was real. This opened his eyes and his mind to the world as it really is. Everything that he knew without reason or explanation all of a sudden became clear. This started his study of self and his study of the occult.

A devout student of magick and of self-discovery, Joseph has turned the page and is teaching that which he understands and knows to others. Finally finding his true calling, he has pushed others to a level of understanding and reason far beyond what they currently were. Do not judge this young man by his age, for his soul goes far beyond this. Always a student, even as a teacher, he seeks to further his understanding and grasp those unseen threads.

Joy Johnson looks to be everything that Diane Catotti looks for in a woman.

Since this isn't the first time that Reverend Joseph Craig has walked the face of the earth, can we charge him with crimes he undoubtedly committed in his previous lives?

WHAT'S UP?

I just spoke with the Durham County Sheriff's office and they told me they did NOT Bond out and .. "they didn't go anywhere."

The public number for that office is 919-560-0772.

I called because that seems like a high bond to make for people that seem like kooks to begin with.

So, who's right? I told them, after they told me each was there in jail, that WTVD says they were bonded out - and they checked again and said, "they didn't go anywhere."

?

It's possible that Durham doesn't know who they have in Jail, but I asked twice and told them of the Media reports. They took time to check again, but who knows...

Dem official accused in rape

By Ray Gronberg : The Herald-Sun
gronberg@heraldsun.com
Jun 28, 2008

DURHAM -- Police have charged a Durham County Democratic Party activist and her husband with several felonies in connection with the reported physical and sexual abuse of a man and a woman.

The husband, Joseph Scott Craig, 25, of 2305 Albany St., has been charged with one count of second-degree rape, one count of second-degree kidnapping and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

He was being held Friday in the Durham County Jail, in lieu of a $590,000 secured bond.

Craig's wife, county Democratic Party third vice-chairwoman Joy Johnson, 30, also of 2305 Albany St., has been charged with one count of aiding and abetting a rape and one count of aiding and abetting an assault. She was being held in the jail in lieu of a $270,000 secured bond.

Police received their first report about the case at 6:26 p.m. Thursday, and reported arresting Craig and Johnson on Friday.

In arrest warrants, Durham police Investigator Ronald Guardino Jr. said the assault charges against Craig allege that he beat both a man and a woman with a wooden cane.

The kidnapping charge alleges that he restrained the man "for the purpose of terrorizing" him.

The rape charge alleges that Craig sexually assaulted the woman. Second-degree rape in this state by definition is vaginal intercourse "by force or against the will" of a woman, or with a woman who is "mentally disabled, mentally incapacitated or physically helpless." First-degree rape would include the use of a deadly weapon.

The aiding and abetting charges against Johnson allege she knew beforehand that Craig intended to assault the man and rape the woman. In each instance, she allegedly stood by and watched as he did so.

The warrant alleging the assault and kidnapping of the man said the offenses occurred from Jan. 1 to Friday. It was not clear Friday whether Guardino meant they occurred once or several times between those dates.

The rape and assault warrant alleges the offenses against the woman occurred from May 1 to June 1. Again, it was not clear whether Guardino meant they occurred once or several times.

Search warrants were not available Friday.

The first Police Department personnel to learn of the allegations were patrol officers in District 2, the operating district that covers Albany Street and other parts of northern Durham. Officer Justin Bell and his supervisor, Sgt. Dale Gunter, signed the original incident report.

A Police Department spokesman, Cpl. Martin Walkowe, said "it appears" District 2 patrol officers summoned detectives. Guardino is a District 3 detective but is part of an "on-call team" patrol units can call in to work cases that occur after normal business hours.

Walkowe added that the department's investigation is continuing. As of Friday, there had been no other arrests and no other charges lodged against Johnson or Craig.

Johnson has strong ties to Durham politics. Aside from her position as third vice chairwoman of the county Democratic Party, she is the party's chairwoman in Precinct 4, the voting district that covers much of the Watts Hospital-Hillandale neighborhood.

She is also the office manager of the People's Alliance -- one of Durham's three main political action committees -- and a December appointee to the city Human Relations Commission.

Johnson and Craig are business partners in a small company called Indigo Dawn Inc. The company's Web site says they founded the company to promote an "age of enlightenment" and "help others rise to a higher level of existence, quality of life and increased spirituality."

The site also says Craig is "a devout student of magick," and links to a separate Web site that claims he was "born a shaman," meaning he is someone who believes he can communicate with the spirit world.

Craig's listing on the separate Web site says he's a practitioner of "shamanic healing, guided meditations, past life regression, inner meditation, herbalism, rune magick, tarot and intuitive reading."

The first vice chairwoman of the county Democratic Party, Diane Palmer, is also an officer of Indigo Dawn, according to the company's Web site and corporate filings with the state.

A former party chairman, state Sen. Floyd McKissick, helped the company incorporate in 2006. He said Friday he was familiar with Craig and Johnson's troubles, but added, "as it presently stands, I have not been retained as counsel for either of them."

Johnson's Democratic Party ties have prompted discussion of whether the Durham district attorney's office can handle the prosecution.

District Attorney David Saacks said Friday officials there have already determined that District Attorney-elect Tracey Cline cannot handle the case.
Saacks and Cline are both Democrats. But Saacks said it's possible he could take it himself because he has never run for office.

The other alternative, handing it off to the state attorney general's office, could also raise conflict-of-interest questions because Attorney General Roy Cooper is also a Democrat, Saacks said.

Look for Johnson's part to be downplayed.

I wouldn't count on that.

Rumor is that they kept the man in a dog kennel for weeks.

A former party chairman, state Sen. Floyd McKissick, helped the company incorporate in 2006. He said Friday he was familiar with Craig and Johnson's troubles, but added, "as it presently stands, I have not been retained as counsel for either of them."

Troubles?! I'd say ... with a capital 'T'.

Just another case of "white privileged" democrats kicking up another Durham scandal. You would think if they wanted to get into something really serious, they would have walked down 9th St. with an open container and relieved themselves in public.

I would love to see the client list of these two rejects. It may well be as interesting a read as CGM's black book.

I can only imagine the self-righteous indignation that was expressed during the heyday of the Hoax. I expect silence now. Where are the marches, the community meetings in the Churches, and the "we are not going to let this stand as a statement of our community?"

Political activist jailed for assault and rape

DURHAM - A vice-chairwoman of the Durham County Democratic Party remained in jail this morning, accused of assisting with an assault and rape.
Joy Johnson, 30, of Albany Street, is charged with felony aiding and abetting. Her charges were associated with more serious ones against Joseph Craig, of the same address, who is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, second-degree kidnapping and second-degree rape.

According to WTVD-TV, Craig allegedly beat and raped a woman, then kidnapped and beat a man with a wooden cane and a cable cord as Johnson watched.

Craig, 25, was at the Durham County Jail Saturday on a $590,000 bond. Johnson has a $270,000 bond.

And why didn't they send out six or seven units along with the watch commander to bust all this up.

Oh, wait. They're all patrolling Trinity Park.

SC
But,Baldo in the immortal words of New Black Panther leader Shabazz,Joy appears, like Crystal,to be "our sister and a goddess".
But Crystal's attested "divine" gifts are bi-location (while simultaneously dancing in the livinig room and bed room)and tri-location while simultaneously levitating six feet in(may be) both bathrooms and in one bedroom.
On the other hand,Joy,would (judging from her blurbs)would appear capable of cosummating sex on several different planes of existence simultaneously which is quantatatively even more remarkable.
To strike a more serious note, the phrase Indigo Dawn is an obvious hit at the famous Golden Dawn which included some of the most respected British artists and medical men of its day.It also included the infamous Allister Crowley and(in several, not all,its branches)a bevy of bizarre sexual practices, including multiple varieties of semen slurping and purported sexual intercourse with both inccubi and succubi(male and female demons).Do not be surprised at anything which may yet emerge along these lines.
With the ever accelerating tendency to legalize
what have previously been (at nearly all times and all places) regarded as sexual perversions, these groups have become increasingly public about practices which were formerly regarded as their most carefully guarded secrets.
Most of the groups involved descend from a Polish distiller named Jacob Frank and a surprising number since the 1770"s have a very decided political side to their activities.
By the way,I have always been one of the firmist opponents of the outrageous "Satanic" child abuse hoaxes which were promulgated in America(and afterwards the British Isles) during the later eighties and early nineties.Every one of these alleged cases proved an absolute fraud by people who obviously knew nothing about the subject they professed to be investigating. And to stay any further hysteria I want to say that I am a Thirty-Second Degree Mason and that my firstborn son is by a Jewess of a very old Moreno family. The conspiracy was neither Masonic nor Jewish,it was Frankist; but since Jews and Masons, equally, were both very smart and both very much left out of the new Enlightenment establishment ,the most disaffected groups were -at that time(not now)-very natural recruiting grounds for revolutionaries.
However, such groups do exist and have certainly promulgated themselves since prior to the French Revolution( I know through my extensive researches into older European and extensive manuscript sources behind the Golden Dawn-first guided by Mrs. W.B.Yeats ).
They started splintering into a hundred competing groups since the birth of the so-called Occult Movement in the 1880's and there is no hidden hand that at could possibly direct or re-unify the whole lot.
Still the Durham situation is far from unique and, if the Marxists posed the greatest intellectual threat,a surprising number of academic occult "authorities",to my knowledge, hold heavily vested interests in the materials which they pretend to be objectively evaluting.

Isn't it scary that we have a media outlet reporting these people are out and free (on bond) - and that a Judge ordered them to stay away from the victims, while the Sheriff's office says they've been in the jail the whole time? The County computer system backs up the Sheriff's office too.

A few questions the media could be asking:

Where is the Rape Victim Advocacy group to intervene on behalf of the alleged victims?
Where are the pot bangers and why hasn't Victoria Peterson suggested that the residence in question be burned down?
Has our self righteous literary genius Cash Michaels opened up a website so that we can all express our indignation and support for the alleged victims?
I am listening for the Listening Statement
Mr. Mayor are we going to have a convocation of emotional jargon to express our collective outrage.
Houston Baker, who are the real "farm animals"?

And Durham residents, you either have to clean up your drinking water or ask yourself just how long you can sustain the low lifes that run your city. If it's not in the drinking water, then the problem must be in the voting booth.

Police hold warrants for activist, husband
By Monica Chen : The Herald-Sun
mchen@heraldsun.com
Jun 29, 2008

DURHAM -- Police did not release a search warrant Saturday in relation to the arrest of a local Democratic Party activist and her husband on charges of kidnapping and rape.

Joseph Scott Craig, 25, of 2305 Albany St., was charged with one count of second-degree rape, one count of second-degree kidnapping and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Craig's wife, county Democratic Party third vice-chairwoman Joy Johnson, 30, was charged with one count of aiding and abetting a rape and one count of aiding and abetting an assault.

The two were arrested Friday and currently are held in the Durham County Jail on a $590,000 secured bond for Craig, and a $270,000 secured bond for Johnson.

Johnson is involved with various political groups in Durham and Wake counties. In addition to her role in the Democratic Party, she is also on the city's Human Relations Commission, the United Nations Association of Wake County and the office manager of the People's Alliance, a major political action committee in Durham.

On Saturday, the organization was quick to issue a statement saying Johnson has been placed on indefinite leave without pay effective immediately.

"As you can imagine, we are shocked by these allegations," Page McCullough, vice president of People's Alliance, said in an e-mail.

According to arrest warrants, Craig allegedly beat a man and a woman with a wooden cane, restrained the man and raped the woman. The incidents with the man occurred between Jan. 1 and Friday. The incidents with the woman occurred from May 1 to June 1.

The warrants also alleged Johnson had knowledge beforehand of Craig's intentions and stood by and watched.

The couple are business partners in a small company called Indigo Dawn Inc., which sells New Age products and services such as past-life reconstruction, meditation CDs and oils and teas.

Johnson is the president of the company, and Craig, referred to as a reverend and "devout student of magick" on the company's Web site, is the vice president and treasurer.

Johnson was born in Fayetteville and grew up in Raleigh, where she attended Millbrook High School.

JEZZZZZZZZZZZ sounds like a "typical" TP couple..I wonder if their business is in TP also......I also bet that they are "social friends" with a lot of the G88'ers......
Not that there isn't any kooks in Trinity Park but these strange people are not TP residents Michael. They live in what is called Watts-Hillandale.......which, politically and mentally, is very much like Trinity Park but less expensive.

Nothing wrong with a little kinky action but what is alleged, and I said that because the story sounds a little strange to me, goes a little too far.

What happen to just plain wife swapping from back in the day?

Who knows maybe they received some educational pointers from Duke University's outreach?

Posted Image

The problem fell to Larry Moneta, Duke's vice president for student affairs, who said the performance "raised issues for discussion." Asked about the difference between the art show and the lacrosse team's hosting strippers, he said, "one served the purpose of personal gratification and the other had educational value."

Educational Value?

On the web site of the Sex Worker’s Art Show it states the show entertains, arouses, and amazes. Clearly if Larry had watched the video of her “performance” one would question the educational value of sexual humiliation. Keva I. Lee is described on their web site as ”ball-crushing, whip-yielding, nipple-torturing Dominatrix! She’s learned the ropes and acquired more than a few tricks in her bag. She explodes and exploits stereotypes surrounding Asian women: dragon lady/ passive lotus flower, exoticism, fetishism, perpetual foreignness, language as a faux cultural barrier. She uses these stereotypes as an erotic tool for her own amusement and gain.”

After listening to the cheers of the 300 Duke students as Dominatrix Lee in her revealing leather outfit rode her pet “pony”, around with his dog leash and collar I wonder what lesson was Larry referring to? What was educational about watching a topless stripper singing a lewd song about a Cathlic Saint as she climbed a stripper pole? What value did a topless transvestite in a pool of kitty litter with a lite sparkler up his rear have?
Liestoppers

Ideas do matter. Community standards do matter. What a community stands for does matter. When perverted behaviour is accepted and embrace by a University it does matter.

It is called Leadership, Integrity, and Morality. Something Duke University's Administration doesn't have.

Here are a few more (questions): Why wasn't anybody looking for these people during their captivity? How were the victims selected? Was their "missing" status ever reported and just not publicized? Why not? Did the perps specifically seek out a couple who would not be missed? If so, how did Joy assist with that effort?
