I suppose they cleared the beach of Mobama lest someone take a photo of her body mass index. |

If she was pushed out it might be a blessing in disguise. |

…the scuttlebutt, apparently, is that she had run-ins with Larry Summers, who had a lot more access to The President. There’s also gossip — completely unsubstantiated, we just know that people are chattering about this — that Summers wanted Romer out. It was so sad to see her out in front of White House being an Obama cheerleader each month as the continuing economic numbers were so poor. She always tried to stay on point defending the miserable performance of Obamanomics. There is trouble in the White House. The crew is jumping ship trying to get away from the Obama legacy. Geithner's declaration that Medicare's financial outlook was improving immediately was contradicted by Medicare's chief actuary, Richard Foster. Bullish Medicare Projection Doubted ... The updates "show some very positive developments" for Medicare, said Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. Medicare's chief actuary, Richard Foster, said the cuts in the law aren't likely to stand because they would probably cause doctors to drop out of Medicare and lead to "severe problems" for seniors. He predicted Congress would step in to restore some of the cuts. "[T]here is a strong likelihood that certain of these changes will not be viable in the long range," Mr. Foster wrote in a statement attached to the report. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703748904575411252865279926.html?mod=googlenews_wsj We elected the wrong people at the wrong time. Abandon the Ship of State! Even Michelle is in Spain. |

We elected the wrong people at the wrong time. The "wrong people" for ANY time and this was especially the "wrong time" to do it. |

. But she has such beautiful arms... I think Obesity is going to be the least of their problems if they do something about this economy. It's clear - Obama's only answer if to redistribute money via the Federal Government. He still hasn't got it that government jobs (paid for by tax-payers) aren't the engine of anything, to the contrary. The economy is bad - people see the Federal programs are going bankrupt, yet the Owebama administration is proceeding as though nothing is happening. . |

Mobama bask under the shelter of a beach umbrella while her daughter swims with the Secret Service. How's this for a bonding experience? |

Why wasn't Sasha allowed to bring a friend along? I have to say that a little girl would find it rather dreary, after awhile, to spend all day long in the company of adults and then be on her own (or entertained by her secret service detail) in the evening while Mom goes out on the town. After all, with all the money the taxpayers are spending, how much more would it have been to spend for a friend? |

........Obama economic adviser Christina Romer is quitting the post. It all stems from her feeling -- despite her title as chairwoman of the President's Council of Economic Advisers -- that Larry Summers has more influence with the president. Victor quotes "a source with insight into the White House economics team," who says: “She has been frustrated. She doesn’t feel that she has a direct line to the president. She would be giving different advice than Larry Summers [director of the National Economic Council], who does have a direct line to the president. She is ostensibly the chief economic adviser, but she doesn’t seem to be playing that role." And he quotes banking consultant Bert Ely, who faults Summers for the missed jobless rate projection. (The administration posited that it would be just 8% if the stimulus passed, yet it is nearly 10% now.) “You have to wonder why Summers isn’t the one that should be taking the fall," Ely says, per Victor. "But Larry is a pretty good bureaucratic infighter.” http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2010/08/05/4828231-romer-to-quit-as-obama-adviser The White House promised that if the stimulus(ARRA) was passed unemployment wouldn't go above 8%. ![]() I wonder what advice she was giving that was different? I actually felt sorry for her out in front of the White House every month trying to cheer on the Obama Team Score! Edited by Baldo, Aug 6 2010, 11:57 PM.

I find it impossible to feel sorry for any of them. Besides, she has the locked in job of teaching "hopey changey" economics. |

She always seemed a little too cheerful and "cheer-leaderish" about the economic figures when I watched her on television - particularly when there was little to be cheerful about. My guess is that Summers learned valuable in-fighting lessons from his fight at Harvard and that no one, particularly any woman, is going to give him short shrift. Summers strikes me as someone who thinks he has all the answers and that anyone who dares to question him is dismissed as a "not too bright" bulb. Neither he nor Geithner impress me with their handling of the economy. Pretty boy Orszag and now Romer have departed the ship - who will be next? |
