So much for stimulus money being used to provide employment in the United States. It was announced on the news yesterday that some of the stimulus money that Ohio had received was used for an appliance rebate program. Governor Strickland (Democrat) approved the hiring of a Texas firm to oversee that appliance rebate program. (This raises the question was there no group available in the Buckeye State competent enough to handle it?). The Texas firm then outsourced it to a Central American nation - San Salvador or Guatemala, memory fails me at this point. So much for improving Ohio's lagging economy with money from US taxpayers.
