According to an internal U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services memo going the rounds of Capitol Hill and obtained by National Review, the agency is considering ways in which it could enact “meaningful immigration reform absent legislative action” — that is, without the consent of the American people through a vote in Congress. “This memorandum offers administrative relief options to . . . reduce the threat of removal for certain individuals present in the United States without authorization,” it reads. Also: “In the absence of Comprehensive Immigration Reform, USCIS can extend benefits and/or protections to many individuals and groups by issuing new guidance and regulations, exercising discretion with regard to parole-in-place, deferred action and the issuance of Notices to Appear (NTA), and adopting significant process improvements.” In recent weeks, Sen. Chuck Grassley and others in Congress have been pressing the administration to disavow rumors that a de facto amnesty is in the works, including in a letter to Department of Homeland Security head Janet Napolitano. “Since the senators first wrote to the president more than a month ago, we have not been reassured that the plans are just rumors, and we have every reason to believe that the memo is legitimate,” a Grassley spokesman tells NR. (NR contacted DHS, but a spokesman did not have a comment on the record.) Many of the memo’s proposals are technical and fine-grained; for example, it suggests clarifying the immigration laws for “unaccompanied minors, and for victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, and other criminal activities.” It also proposes extending the “grace period” H-1B visa holders have between the expiration of their visa and the date they’re expected to leave the country....xnipped http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NTk3Y2EwODQxMTBlOTE4MmI3MzUwZjBkNjkzODBhMGY== This was reported the other day but now it looks like it has more credibility. If Obama did this, it would seem to be to be an impeachable offense. Of course it all depends on who has power in Congress. Then who really wants Bite it as President? We are heading for really strange times. |

Illegals, don't want US citizenship in AZ, they want Americans to go back to europe. Some of the immigration activist believe AZ is still Mexico and they want us out. http://www.breitbart.tv/racism-at-tea-party-event-from-a-latino-counter-protester-youre-too-white-to-be-american-go-back-to-europe/ The United States as a melting pot is over, they don't really want citizenship, they want ownership. They don't intend to find them. If we passed Obama's plan they would grant them status to live here when they apply for citizenship. That will take forever, they won't know when they came here, meanwhile they could still live here legally. It is a stalling stragety intended to give more time to organize. Slowly the hope is to increase their political base as the percentages of Hispanics grow. |

La Raza They have been organizing for decades and it has worked while illegals numbers have continue to grow. We don't even know just how many illegals there are in the USA. The power of La Raza has increased steadily and Cecilia Muñoz, Senior Vice President of La Raza was appointed to the intergovernmental affairs position in the Obama White House and continues in that position. That is the game, a slow increase in political power. It is working Edited by Baldo, Jul 30 2010, 09:26 PM.

. Has there ever been another administration that consistently ruled against the will of the people like this? They may cross a line and worse things will happen than poor ratings in the Polls. . |

Every hispanic that I know is furious that the government is enabling the illegals. One of our hispanic salesmen recently told me that he was so fed up he felt like calling Sean Hannity. Crime, drugs and poverty are invading the border at an alarming rate and I've never seen a more welcoming government - one who pays lip service by sending a few hundred guards down there that will be outnumbered and outgunned. It's shameful. |

Curiously, 0bama & Co. are not behaving like normal Western politicians. They seem to be believers in something - like Bolsheviks in Russia, or Nazis in Germany (to a lesser extent). They don't care if they are re-elected, as long as the CAUSE prevails. Such people DO tend to cross various lines, necessitating "worse things than poor ratings". In this particular case, they will be voted out of office; some might get prosecuted (though in my opinion, such prosecutions would be a mistake). After all, this is not France, and the year is NOT 1871. However, had I been around in '71, I would want to serve under THIS general's command: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Galliffet,_Gaston_de.jpg He was my kind of guy!
