The View takes precedence

Maybe it is because he only has daughters and because he lives in a female dominated household. That is the only explanation I can think of that would justify (and that is really not the correct word I am searching for ) his decision to show up on The View (where he will be stroked and petted like a favorite cat) rather than to appear before the Boy Scouts at their jamboree which, by the way, is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding this year.

Perhaps Obama wanted to make a trip to New York (more taxpayer monies to be expended on the flight, security, limousine, etc) in order to dish about Republicans with the likes of Joy Behar, I do not know. However, the Boy Scouts are meeting outside of DC which would not take much from our president's "busy schedule". Maybe it is because the Boy Scouts, their leaders, and supporters, are not "his kind of people"?

I am sure that ABC (and the other msm) will treat us to repeated clips of the "ladies" and Obama. Their obsequious behavior and the snide references to the Tea Party and Republicans (look for Behar to work in a comparison of the Obama girls to Palin's family) will get the requisite guffaws from the audience. However, in making the decision to snub the scouts, Obama has demonstrated once again the extent to which he is out of touch with large portions of America.

I would agree that that element is at play as well.

The official reason given by the White House is that Obama has a number of Democratic fundraisers that he must attend. However, that is a poor excuse. The plans for the jamboree were in play long before Obama was elected. As the honorary head of the Boy Scouts (a position held by all presidents since the organization was established in this country), it would seem that if there was any jamboree, an event that only occurs every four years, that its "chief" would attend would be one that occurs on such an historic occasion. Generally jamborees are held out in the West (one of my brothers attended one held at Coeur d'Alene in Idaho back in the late sixties). This year the jamboree is being held in the DC area so that the attendees can take in the historic sites of the nation's capital.

However the White House wants to play it, the bottom line is that the president opted to put politics first. Yes, he sent a video-taped message for the scouts to view. My guess is that it will receive less than a rapt attention by the young men (many of whom are future Eagle Scout recipients = future leaders in business and civic functions) in attendance. I doubt that they will forget being "dissed" by the President.

More money to spend v. short notice (only about 100 years notice!)

Tough choice for our leader!

Obama: Shirley Sherrod Deserved Better

As he attended and spoke at the "education reform at the National Urban League 100th Anniversary Convention".

I wonder if the Boy Scouts will notice?

Sarah is at play too. This move towards soccer moms is a response to Sarah.

It has the chance of a snowball with Dante, but I think that's what it is.

The lipstick hasn't gone away.

Obama is a fool - he can only compete with the low-brain, low-brow View and Ellen.

I think they helped him with his economic plan.

He's going to secure the women vote. He has the black and gay vote locked down already.

Not all women are as dumb as those who watch the view. Many of them are working to help support their families and don't have time to sit like mind numbed robots being spoon fed by the likes of Walters, Bahar, Goldberg, etc. Trying to feed and clothe young ones makes people readjust their values.

When asked about his background, which includes a black father and white mother, Obama said of African-Americans: "We are sort of a mongrel people."

"I mean we're all kinds of mixed up," Obama said. "That's actually true of white people as well, but we just know more about it."

Is he pointing out a lack of inbreeding or morals?

So true. I know few, if any women, who watch The View. They have neither the time nor the interest.

I think the president demeans the office by appearing on a show that "dishes" on the latest celebrity scandal; whose guests hawk their latest cinema endeavors; and whose hosts banter about their private lives. The View is not the only such show. I would put Oprah and Regis and Kelly in that category as well. (I am sure there are others but those are the ones that readily come to mind).

Can anyone imagine George Bush going on a show with 5 questioners and getting these questions?

Questions and comments on his wife and his kids?

And the View hosts go on other shows and speak about his wife and kids again.

I watching these shows and people are saying things like - we know he is a wonderful father and husband.

When did this change take place when we elect Father of the Year?

No one with a microphone is calling these people out.
