Daniel Finkelstein, writing for today's London Times, gives an interesting perspective on this year presidential election. I think you'll enjoy reading it. ------- The Sixties and the presidential race Whoever reaches the White House must shake off the bitter legacy of a divided decade Daniel Finkelstein When David Ifshin died at the age of 47 he had already lived more than one life. And if you want to understand the forthcoming US presidential election and how it can be won, you could do worse than listen to his story. <snip> There is a good and bad McCain, a good and a bad Obama. This election can plumb the depths or reach to the sky. Who soars, wins. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/columnists/daniel_finkelstein/article4061135.ece --- Fight hard, but fight fair!

IMO, the best man for any elected office, especially POTUS, is the man who would not make any new laws. The best man for the job would cancel, void, repeal, contrast and compare the consequences and unintended consequences of the the laws already on the books, and clean house. I really do not think we need any more laws in this country. We have too many laws, and a pox on those who are making new ones every day. |
