. Obama said that TONIGHT the Ocean levels will start receding (or something about the Ocean righting itself) and he said TONIGHT, the Planet will start Healing. Those comments are laughable and I have a hard time thinking the Media would let any politician get away with claiming his nomination will immediately start the Earth to healing and the oceans to righting themselves. Maybe Obama is believing his press clippings, maybe he believes he isn't a mortal man. Hey, he did see dead people the other day. This is pretty ridiculous over-the-top stuff. EDITED to ADD ACTUAL QUOTE: "we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our Planet began to heal." . . |

. I couldn't show my face in public if I had made that statement. Not even close. The sad thing is - most people probably bought it. I look for Obamania to give him an easy win in the General election. . |

"we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our Planet began to heal." He is delusional and really thinks he is a Messiah. |

Aw - come on now... Speeches like this after hard-fought nomination campaigns are always fraught with hyperbole like this. Fire away. |

Sounds like something the anti-christ might say. He is supposed to come from the world of politics. |

. I've heard (not that I'm an expert) this is new era and we will shine - and we can achieve great things, etc. I think you'll be hard pressed to find a speech by the party's nominee where he claims the forces of nature have changed - or will change - because of his presence. I've never heard anything like that. I think it shows his expectation of the intelligence level of the voters. |

Tony - I guess I am willing to at least give a momentary pass to the idea that Sen Obama was linking policy ideas to environmental concerns which are, while certainly not universally accepted, grounded in enough science to be at least plausible. I recognize where that puts me on this board but hey, somebody's got to be the leftist, even if they are center-right... |

I want to know his specifics. What is he going to propose, what does he want to do? It's find to say we will give health-care to all, good jobs to the jobless, and solve the "problem" of rising ocean levels. But show me the money. Specifics, not hyperbole. |
