PELOSI says of Massa:

“This is a very sick person.”

Another coincidence. There is no attempt to smear the Congressman.

Nothing to see here - other than sick people outted by their party - for the Good of the Country, we are to believe.

He quit for some reason.

He has something to hide or they have something he is worried about anyway.

Pelosi & crew are holding the ace.

Right, there is a reason he quit. There is way more to this story than what has been let out. But part of me wonders why Pelosi and say Holder didn't use what ever they had on him to keep him in line and voting the way they say.

Massa says ‘groping’ of male aide wasn’t sexual
N.Y. Dem who resigned Monday says he ‘tickled’ staff member

updated 34 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Former New York Congressman Eric Massa, who resigned from Congress amid sexual harassment allegations, acknowledged Tuesday groping a staffer but denied it was sexual.

"It doesn't make any difference what my intentions were, it's how it's perceived by the individual who receives that action," Massa, D-N.Y., said on conservative commentator Glenn Beck's Fox News Channel show. "I'm telling you I was wrong. I was wrong. ... My behavior was wrong. I should have never allowed myself to be as familiar with my staff as I was."

The Washington Post, citing anonymous sources, reported Tuesday that the House ethics panel has been investigating allegations Massa groped multiple male staffers in his office. Massa has previously claimed his misconduct was limited to using inappropriate language with staffers.

How do they get all this favorable press and not get Barney Frank's name in a single article?

They have a great capacity to overlook corruption.

I would agree. Here are some questions that I have not seen answered.

1. When did this alleged groping happen?
2. If it happened recently - that is one thing. If is happened several months ago, the "outing" of Massa is suspicious. (Do not get me wrong, such behaviour is wrong and should be dealt with - my issue here is the timing of it).
3. Why did Massa first reject, then say it was salty language, then admit to a groping (I read that he referred to it as a tickling???).
4. Massa cannot be replaced in time for any vote - vacancies in the House must be filled by a special election. Even in a state as corrupt as New York, an election cannot take place that fast. There is no way that the dysfunctional legislature in Albany (and even if it was not dysfunctional) to do an end run around the Constitution and appoint someone to take his place because members of the House of Representatives must be elected. So, if anything, Pelosi makes it one more vote that she needs to get for the Senate bill to pass in the House.
5. I find Pelosi's ethical radar out of whack given that her good friend Barny Frank had his lover run a gay prostitution service out of his townhouse and she keeps maintaining that Charlie Rangel's case is just one of a misunderstanding of the rules. What else and against whom does Pelosi have information that she is using to force through a vote on this health bill?

The Math of Massa leaving helps Pelosi - the votes needed are based on a percentage.

He's Ultimately Helping the Dems, notes Rick Klein speaking with Greta Van Susteren: "His resignation is actually a good thing for Speaker Pelosi and Democrats. In the bizarro math right now in the House, it reduces the number that you actually need to get to. So Speaker Pelosi loses a Democrat, but she gets a vote on health care."

Massa made an appearance (I believe for the entire hour) on Glenn Beck yesterday. At the end of the program Beck apologized for having him on. It looked like he really sandbagged Beck. Beck was asking him some very tough questions about his alleged intimidation and Massa seemed to back away from them. I think Beck was dreaming of a major expose' but it fell completely flat for him.
