http://onevike.blogspot.com/2010/02/50-points-of-retrosexual-neosexual-code.html A Retrosexual or Neosexual man does not ride in the back seat with the baby while women drive the car. Real men always drive unless he is injured beyond the ability to drive, usually that mean he is almost dead. 2.) A Retrosexual or Neosexual, no matter what the women insists, PAYS FOR THE DAMN DATE. 3.) A Retrosexual or Neosexual man always opens the door for a lady. Even for the ones that fit the term of a lady, only because they are female. 4.) A Retrosexual or Neosexual male deals with crap. Be it a flat tire, break-in into your home, or a natural disaster, real men always deal with the problems. Edited by Texas Mom, Feb 28 2010, 09:39 PM.

From an article at BigHollywood on John Wayne. I like his description John Wayne was a patriot but not a hero, and he would have been the first to tell anyone that, though his courageous battle with cancer displayed the kind of understated heroics many could relate to. But if you watch some of Wayne’s best films his representation of a hero was certainly of great value and still has great value. He once explained the appeal of his image quite succinctly, “I define manhood simply; men should be tough, fair, and courageous, never petty, never looking for a fight, but never backing down from one.” So here’s one for the “Duke,” he may not have been a military hero, but we now have proof that he did actually volunteer for service in World War II. |

Thanks TM, I admire the message he gave us there. Meanwhile, imagine how the "hate studies" could "clarify" for us what the Duke really meant! |

Couldn't agree more. Each gender has its duties and responsibilites. It is a beautiful mix when women let men be men, and men appreciate women and let them be women. |

With Mr. cks away on business, I ffind myself appreciating him all the more as he likes to drive (I don't), he always opens the door, and wheever things need fixing, he takes the lead in making certain those things are done. But then, we are products of a different age when as Baldo said when women let men be men and men appreciate women and let them be women. And there is nothing anti-feminist in that. |

My children's father was a "typical traditional male"- he opened doors, walked on the outside of the sidewalk, had broad shoulders for me to cry on, carried a real handkerchief with his initials on it, and wore button-down shirts. He moved deliberately, was slow to anger and, because of his military service, always kept his shoes polished and sewed on buttons better than I could. He was infinitely patient in doing math flash cards and "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere," and could hold a newborn with one hand. He was pretty terrific at diapering, too, and never objected when I asked for a banana split in the middle of the night. One daughter has found a man who is very like her father and the other one is kissing lots of frogs in New York, while she searches. Both girls agree that whatever girl marries their "traditionally male" brother will be really lucky- and they will "vet" her first! |

Well, I was raised the traditional way and still conduct myself that way. On the other hand, I have held the door for a lady only to have her stand there and refuse to go through...which amused me...which in turn puzzled her.

Mr. Concerned has been known to change the oil or install brake pads while wearing a Polo shirt. He's totally clueless. He once removed a fish hook from his thumb while I nearly passed out. He said he wanted to teach his boys to not run to the ER at every little pain. He taught his sons to always open the car door for their mom and to remember to put the toilet seat down! |
