NYT SATURDAY: White House officials are searching for ways for Obama to 'use executive powers to advance energy, environmental and other policy priorities'... Developing... Well if he thinks he can do that he is delusional. He will lose the House & Senate in November and start a constitutional crisis |

Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-W.V.) lashed out Friday against the Obama Administration's stance on environmental policy and coal power, an economic staple for West Virginia. According to Rockefeller, there has been a disconnect between Obama's accepting rhetoric toward coal mining and coal power and the president's actual policies regarding West Virginia's official state rock. "He says it in his speeches, but he doesn't say it in (his budget proposal). He doesn't say it in the actions of (EPA Administrator) Lisa Jackson. And he doesn't say it in the minds of my own people. And he's beginning to not be believable to me," Rockefeller said Friday. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/12/jay-rockefeller-obama-beg_n_460520.html Senator Rockefeller what didn't you understand in this Obama interview on January 17, 2008? "Let me sort of describe my overall policy. What I've said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else's out there. I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year. So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted." The mans arrogance is overwhelming, I suppose he feels he is above the Constitution. For someone sworn to protect the Constitution he's doing a fine job of undermining it, lock ,stock and barrel. |

Am I getting this right? Apparently Rockefeller is upset because Obama slashed subsidies for the coal industry in Rockefeller's state - but he's not upset because Obama's cap and trade plan will bankrupt the entire coal industry in Rockefeller's state. I mean, this is like Rockefeller being a farmer who's fine with Obama burning down the farmer's barn, just so long as Obama first gives Rockefeller enough money to build a tiny little shed to replace it. Stupid. Edited by Carolyn says, Feb 12 2010, 09:56 PM.

Obama, want's to be dictator and chief, I am about ready to surrender, he's the man. As long as he is president we are doomed. What can I get out of this? I may just support him so I don't get plowed under, in the new socialist state that he is setting up. Most of the people that voted for him were the usual idiots, I will just concede that we have lost. Join them or be left out in the dark?

retired LEO you need to take a walk and get some fresh air and get over the "Doomed" scenario. If you want to drink the Kool Aid, go ahead. But there are MANY who won't drink it with you. Can we spread a little hope along with our truth-telling? |

Well, if you can't spread hope, at least you can spread good humor. That's a close second. BHO and his Cabinet of Crazy Czars is not the first nut-case to hold political power. They will be OUT. SOON. Meanwhile, we can get mad about it, but we don't have to get indigestion. |

DSL, we have been fed 3 years worth of hope and change. We can try to spread good humor, but socialism is no laughing matter IMHO. Obama, has already stated he doesn't like the Constitution, in it's current for, because it limits what the federal government can do. Now he want to issue executive orders the actually over ride current laws. |

Let me try my hand at spreading hope and change. We (the English-speaking civilization) have survived Philip II of Spain, Louis XIV of France, Napoleon, Marx, Lenin, Hitler, Carter, and everybody else. Will this two-penny Muslim dictator be the end of us? We will vote him out of office, and repair the damage in no time flat! So there is plenty of hope, and there will be change - and I know I am sounding like a broken record...
