Talk about stumbling ineptitude. On Thursday afternoon, Harry Reid announced he would not endorse a bipartisan jobs bill. Only for Reid to be told that the President had 'warmly' endorsed that same bill just a few hours earlier on Thursday morning. Excuse me? Is anyone in charge here? http://dailycaller.com/2010/02/11/reid-rejects-bipartisan-jobs-bill-endorsed-by-white-house/ Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Thursday scrapped a bipartisan jobs bill unveiled hours earlier that had been endorsed by the White House, in a jarring miscommunication between the Obama administration and Democratic congressional leaders. Reid said Thursday afternoon that he would not introduce a bill made public Thursday morning by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, Montana Democrat, and ranking committee member Sen. Charles Grassley, Iowa Republican. Before Reid’s about-face, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs released a statement saying the president was “gratified” by the release of the bipartisan legislation, saying the bill “includes several of the president’s top priorities for job creation.” “The president looks forward to working with members from both parties on this bill,” said Gibbs in the statement. But Reid said he was going with a “slim-downed” jobs bill, one costing about $15 billion over 10 years as opposed to the $85 billion price tag attached to the Baucus and Grassley bill. A Reid spokesman said the mixed signals were not the result of any disagreement between the leader and the White House. (No, just fricking stupidity.) The White House did not reply when asked if they supported Reid’s change. (If you're looking for that reply, it's in the same place as Obama's Columbia school transcripts.) |

I've stated before that Reid has been a leader in the mess. I don't see him as the leader of all involved, but he certainly is responsible for much that has gone on. The mystery is whether or not he is actually trying to move into a position that will help him get re-elected. He's near being hopeless in the polls. Moving to that bipartisan BS, he rained on Zero's parade there. With the Democrats pushing the trillions, it is difficult determine what message he hopes to pass along by trimming a jobs bill that also extended taxbreaks for middle class. |

If we are to believe reports Reid was instrumental in promoting Obama to run for the Presidency. Pelosi is just plain wacky, but is a powerful and mean politician. Before it is out Obama will turn on them to save himself. How did we get into this situation? |
