That's right! You read that correctly. NOW claims that Tim tackling his mom was a celebration of violence against women.

In an attempt to mirror the humorous nature of most Super Bowl commercials, the Focus on the Family in-game ad shows Tebow tackling his mom and his mother playfully scolding him for interrupting her.

That was too much for NOW president Terry O'Neill, who told the Los Angeles Times the ad glorified violence against women: "I am blown away at the celebration of the violence against women in it. That's what comes across to me even more strongly than the anti-abortion message. I myself am a survivor of domestic violence, and I don't find it charming. I think CBS should be ashamed of itself."

Which of course means that NOW has no idea what to do with the Tebow ad...and are forced to reach into the absurd...

I had no idea that tackling my sisters was such a violent and repressive act on my part...

Oh, this is desperate. No, this is worse than desperate - this is so stupid that it's obvious NOW's butt has been transplanted from below its waist to above its neck. Honestly, this statement of NOW is proof positive that they are now officially pooing from between their ears.

NOW has lost it's mind. They make a big deal of this while crickets chirp over the treatment of women in the middle east and Africa. They are a disgusting bunch.

But, no criticism of the snickers ad with Betty White (which by the way I thought was one of the funniest)? It is alright to suggest or call a boy a sissy but not alright for Tim Tebow to give his Mom a big hug? It would seem to me that the NOW spokesperson is either jealous that a young man would love show his love for his mother for the world to see (that was playful interaction by almos any mother's standard) or she is sorely mising any real affection in her life. Just a guess on my part.

snip
Or make something of so many near-nude men in the ads.

The Snickers ad with Betty White and Abe Vigoda must "celebrate" both violence against women and elderly abuse- as well as gender inequality, I guess.

These people have lost their minds (if they ever had them) and I am waiting for that dreadful blogger from Austin (the one hired by John Edwards' campaign) to weigh in. Amanda Marcotte, now I remember!

I read earlier about how FIVE Super Bowl ads emphasized that men are feeling emasculated. Du-oh! In case they've missed it, they HAVE BEEN! White males in helmeted sports, I believe is how they're described. Wake up, ladies, if you want a man who acts like a man, you've got to quit cutting his legs out from under him!

The snickers was probably the best and funniest ad. 88 and 89 year old. Elder abuse, Sure.
