. This much is clear, it's not about taking action for the Good of the Country, but Changing the Country. A country some just don't like. This is why Obama has ignored Jobs and goes on with his social programs and Global Warming agencies. Michelle Obama defended her husband against some of his most vocal critics, saying President Obama did a "phenomenal" job this year and that change is a long-term process. The first lady discusses the fight against childhood obesity with Robin Roberts. "I think my husband has done a phenomenal job staying on course, looking his critics in the eye, coming up with clear solutions against staying the course," Michelle Obama told Robin Roberts in an exclusive morning television interview on "Good Morning America." "That's what leadership is. But people have the right to criticize the President of the United States." . What is Wrong with this Sentence? "I think my husband has done a phenomenal job staying on course, looking his critics in the eye, coming up with clear solutions against staying the course," Michelle Obama told Robin Roberts... She praises him for "staying the course," and then says he's come up with clear solutions "against" staying the course? Huh? I'm confused. Edited by Mason, Feb 9 2010, 09:29 AM.

. I watched the Video - she said we were on the brink of a DEPRESSION - and we're not there YET! Unbelievable! The media let it go. She calls him "Barack Obama." Good luck with that. . |

. TEN BILLION DOLLARS on Mobama's Gov't "Move" Program to fight Obesity. How many spending programs have arisen since we got the latest news on Obama's Budget and how we're broke. Evidently, they have no interest in listening to reality. . |

. Why don't we cut the Federal Gov't Programs to give away Computers and Internet access - that'll save money and get the kids up off their asz. We are giving money for cell phones to call downstairs, giving away Internet access, and subsidized PC's. Now they want 10 Billion to give away on after-school programs. Someone better step back. . |

Her calling him "Barack Obama" all the time seems very odd... She still comes across as angry and childish. |

Bank failures, devaluation of our paper money and a collapse of real estate values are the things I see as creating the potential for a "depression". TARP was in place to address bank failures and real estate values before Zero took office, if any action to avoid those factors is to be given credit for a depression not being here "yet". The value of our paper money is a problem they have done little to help. The problems our growing deficit creates in that value has seen some indirect help from all the spending going on. I hope the economy stabilizes itself better before that spending runs out and the 'long term' results promised finally come about, if they ever do. |

. Speaking of a Depression - and saying we aren't there YET, leaving open the possibility that's where we are headed, is certainly off-message and leaves a negative impression. Even though she backed off of it, it was a gaffe. How about saying, in effect, we have always been coarsened? I hate to see what would happen if Barack hadn't done a "phenomenal" job. . |

In all fairness, I think she said, "coming up with clear solutions I believe it was an easy-to-make transcription error. Her speech is sometimes not clear, and she runs some words together. What drives me crazy is the way she mispronounces the letter combination of "str" as in "strong, strength), etc. She always says it like "shtr..." as in "shtrong, shtrength". That comes up a million times (well, often) in her plea for Haiti donations. I did think her dress in this interview looked nice, as did her hair, etc. I can't always say that. |

One of a few misunderstandings? Another? "The Department Of Defense briefed the President this morning. They told President Obama that 2 Brazilian soldiers were killed in Iraq. To everyone's surprise (except Reid), all the color drained from Obama's face. Then he collapsed onto his desk, head in his hands, visibly shaken, almost in tears. Finally, he composed himself and, noticing the look on everyone else’s face, rather bewildered. He quietly asked, "Just exactly how many is a Brazilian? This is not surprising since he obviously has no understanding of million, billion or trillion either." More humor, just a joke! Edited by kbp, Feb 9 2010, 12:01 PM.

Oh, Rusty, you hit the nail on the head. That whole "sht" combo irritates the "sht" out of me. "Shtrong" "Shtrength" etc. It's a "hip-hop" kind of slang way of talking in the same manner that the "hip-hop" crowd will say "fitty" rather than "fifty." Or how they leave out the consonant "t" sound in words like "Clinton" (i.e., "Clin-in"). One would think she might speak like a well-educated lady. Perhaps she could practice reciting the phrase "In Hartford, Hereford and Hampshire, hurricanes hardly ever happen." |

Oh that kbp! Obama & the Congress embraced the economic ideas of the Keynesian on steroids. They are blowing through our future at a breakneck speed. As I warned there is no way they could possibly keep control over that much speeding in so short of time. They didn't care! If you read the Stimulus bill it is one giant blank check for every Progressive dream. 30 Billion here, 5 Billion there, 60 Billion there, it went on and on for hundreds of pages. Before Congress, the spending Miscreants that they are, at least would hold hearings on requests. They didn't. This year will go down as the "Year of Financial Insanity." We are in a "Clash of Cultures!" It is the Government Sector vs the Private Sector. There will be winners and losers, but in the end, there will be a "Brazilian" casualties!
